Thanks for being fair. I agree she is pretty and she looks like she is a nice person... but yes her songs are just so similar! She seems to always talk about boys or love. Cool, thats cool... but really how many albums does she have out? I dont see any difference in her musical ability (other than her being able to play the guitar, which I'll give kudos to that) or her themes. She is just so overrated. Most bands and solo artists do use the same chord progression. There's a video by chriswilsonukmusic that illustrates this brilliantly. Personally, I don't think that's a good enough reason to dislike Taylor's songs, but that's probably because I'm a mega swiftie. I agree with you that she has very little real music talent, but I mainly dislike how most, if not all her songs embrace the Madonna/Whore complex: The dichotomy used to oppress women via a sexual double-standard, establishing rigid categories for female sexual behavior while permitting male sexual behavior to range from abstinence to to promiscuity without similar social judgement. Most bands and solo artists do use the same chord progression. There's a video by chriswilsonukmusic that illustrates this brilliantly. Personally, I don't think that's a good enough reason to dislike Taylor's songs, but that's probably because I'm a mega swiftie. dude, ofcourse some songs has the same chords. do you really expect to have all different chords per song, that would be hard for an artist, especially to the person who wants to learn it. also, the strumming might fit but you don't know if its the real one! it just fits.
