I have a friend who has a wii and he has yet to buy anything worth playing on that half a brain console. But this game, this game has nothing but win written all over it. @cMARVEL360 its not really the motion controls but mostly how the developers designed them for a game. Conduit's aren't that bad, only thing that pissed me off was grenades with the nunchuck, I'd accidently flick it and I'd throw a 'nade and kill myself, so I put it to a button.
Oh and if your friend wants an awesome game on wii, tell him to wait for Conduit 2 this fall.

Actually an FPS Puzzle/adventure game has been made and it was very successful and really good. That game is Portal (you can find it in the Orange Box).

The only negative comments I've had towards the console is with anything HVS has done - because the games they're making don't match what they promise to include..
They're just trying to sell their product, which is hard for a small relatively unknown developer.
And be honest, atleast they made the most technical advanced Wii game to date. The art style may be a minus but it sure as hell looks more next-gen than 98% of the Wii's library.
Unknown developer? They've been around for 16 years. I expect more from a developer who has been around for that long.
As far as technical limits. Sure - they have the most technically advanced Wii game - but its basically useless when the art direction looks the way it does.
And hey - what do ya know? They're known now. Because they shouted untill their longs were empty. They shouted for this game to be seen and I'm glad they did.

It depends. I can easily say many of the PS3/360's titles have mass market appeal, which they do (GTAIV, Halo 3, Gears of War, etc) - are all "casual" titles in the sense that they appeal to a very wide market base. It goes the same for FPS, its the reason why it is the top genre and has been for the last 15 years.
I have a Wii and a 360 - I play my Wii more. More niche titles, new experiences = what I want. I wouldn't call it solely a casual console but it does have a huge casual appeal to it.

But you have a point. I guess part of it is because its like the DS, its very pick up and play and accessible, which is part of the reason I like it a lot.
I mean I think its hard for anyone who is in general a fan of games to just buy one console and not be interested in any of the others.. I still know I want a PS3 but I probably won't get one, its too expensive for me at the moment and not ideal.
"Hardcore" games to me are most FPS's, RTS's, and other genres that can be played competitvely between relatively large amounts of people, and are played by people who play the game over and over. Crap, after re-reading that, I'm starting to doubt myself and "the line" between hardcore and casual.
And as for the hardware stuff, the Wii gets 729 mhz from its processor, and, for example, the ps3 gets 3.2 ghz. I just figured that much of the hardware would be going towards the whole motion gimmick.

I dont understand why people say the controls are messy.
I've beaten the game and played it enough to say I think the game controls very fluently.
It has roughly a 30 minute learning curve, but dont most games take some time to get used to?
And I love how everyone called any futuristic fps halo. Or a clone. Get over yourself, they're two separate games, same genre.

IMO when i looked at HALO i said wth... its like freaking metroid wars..... if you think of generic in the sense of its already been done then lol just about every title is generic... so stfu.... just because others say it doesn't mean it makes sense.... the story is generic... if you said that I'd agree... but the gameplay is good I mean you can't really do much to make an fps beyond an fps or fps puzzle/adventure... FAIL!

Actually an FPS Puzzle/adventure game has been made and it was very successful and really good. That game is Portal (you can find it in the Orange Box).

can that really be considered an fps? seems more to the likes of fpp (first person puzzle) but yeah thats one of the 'few' titles of which I spoke...
My point is now that thats been made... pretty much all other titles like that will be assumed to be a portal clone... in a way that sucks..... is what i'm saying.

Yea, I understand. Portal is kind of an FPSP (First Person Shooter Puzzle) cause at one point, you are shoooting some enemies.

I WOULD LOVE A Team FORTRESS on the wii... the fact that its stylized makes it a bit easier to make it look good and stay true to the series while being on the wii... I REALLY think they should do it... I'll send fan mail... I'd buy it =P

Ohhh no no no, the graphics are so far the best I've ever seen on the Wii. Youtube raped the quality of the video. Trust me, the game looks REALLY good.

If anything, I'm one of the biggest supports of the console in System Wars.
I even have a dedicated stickied thread in the Wii boards and I made one for E3 2009.
The only negative comments I've had towards the console is with anything HVS has done - because the games they're making don't match what they promise to include..

They're just trying to sell their product, which is hard for a small relatively unknown developer.
And be honest, atleast they made the most technical advanced Wii game to date. The art style may be a minus but it sure as hell looks more next-gen than 98% of the Wii's library.

Sadly, the Wii is no longer so much a "hardcore" gaming console as the PS3 or X360; it's too much of a casual console for non-gamers. Or gamers that want to blow off steam by beating the shit out of Princess Peach XD; nothing wrong with that. The Conduit (eh) and Madworld (yes) are two in the dying breed of Wii FPS's
Besides, the Wii can't physically compete with either console, because there's just not enough hardware devoted to the graphics etc., because of the motion recognition.

It depends. I can easily say many of the PS3/360's titles have mass market appeal, which they do (GTAIV, Halo 3, Gears of War, etc) - are all "casual" titles in the sense that they appeal to a very wide market base. It goes the same for FPS, its the reason why it is the top genre and has been for the last 15 years.
I have a Wii and a 360 - I play my Wii more. More niche titles, new experiences = what I want. I wouldn't call it solely a casual console but it does have a huge casual appeal to it.

Well, in this context, I meant casual as "kid friendly" or "fun for the whole family". I don't know many families that would play Left 4 Dead together as opposed to Mario Party or Smash Bros.

But you have a point. I guess part of it is because its like the DS, its very pick up and play and accessible, which is part of the reason I like it a lot.

"Hardcore" games to me are most FPS's, RTS's, and other genres that can be played competitvely between relatively large amounts of people, and are played by people who play the game over and over. Crap, after re-reading that, I'm starting to doubt myself and "the line" between hardcore and casual.
And as for the hardware stuff, the Wii gets 729 mhz from its processor, and, for example, the ps3 gets 3.2 ghz. I just figured that much of the hardware would be going towards the whole motion gimmick.
