My boys did not get along either. I got them two separate, large cages & placed them right next to each other. They got their own space, but still keep each other company. In fact, I caught them having deep conversations with each other. It was amazing.

why do rats need paper in theyr cage ?

@strawberry8147 It's too keep the floor cleaner. Plus they like to tear & shred paper & put it where they want. In this case, the cage flooring isn't flat & it made out of bars, which is bad for their feet, so I'm sure it helps somewhat in that case.

@ImHereForMJ urm I think you will find my cage floor isn't bars. Its a massive plastic tray. Cages with barred bottoms are cruel.

@ladyshifty90 I thought I saw some barred ramps? Well, some people aren't as educated & aware of their pets needs & do use barred flooring. That's a good way for a rat to get bumble feet. DON'T USE BARRED FLOORING, in case you were wondering my point, people.

Umm... news paper can be toxic to them because of the ink, Just use bedding :)

@MysteriousShadow101 It CAN be toxic, dosen't mean it is. I preferred newspaper, all my pets have had it and i've never had a problem with it. It was actually recommended by my vet :-)

@MysteriousShadow101 The only time that rats even being to stink, is if you do not maintian their cage for two weeks or so. Rats can be easily be littler trained, which will help cut down on maintaining their bedding. And if you choose to give your rats table scraps, be sure to clean up the food before you go to bed. Rats constantly clean themselves, and are very clean pets. I prefer rats to any other pet.

i would try letting them out of their cages to play together then afetyer a couple of weeks try putting them in together again gd luck

My two rats are not sisters but they don't fight anyway.

Its probably because one or both of "ladyshifty90"s rats is dominant or even aggressive for other rats.

If rats aren't sisters or brothers then its just about introducing them in the right way to each other.

Wow, this was so... inspirational! I'm serious, this gave me so many ideas! ;D Of course my cage is only 2/3 the size of yours, but still. (: I love the couch and the little bed(I think it was the bed.. its on the 2nd floor) !

@sprcrzy I made it out of some thick foam and covered the sides, back and bottom with material. Then sowed it all together. Easy to wash aswell :-)
