  • Seems legit

  • lol wire hit camra lmfao

  • what the.....

  • funnyest part ever, 1:12 ahhahaha i felt like i had to shit myself, that made my day thanks man

  • pause at 0:20 yo need more powa

  • I LOVE Afroman's sense of humour in the vids he makes!!!!!

  • cool

  • @Studio1991 Make sure you have the resistor hooked up to the photocell that is also connected to pin 1if that doesn't work check your circuit again

  • Im haveing a problem with mine...I used a buzzer insted of a LED and my buzzer only comes on with light is shineing on the photocell and goes off when i take the light off...I need it to work the ways yours is and im preety confused...Please help?

  • hi.very innovative.can you kindly please mail me the list of components required to build this?

  • my email id is adeem.tech@gmail.com thankyou

  • "That can" what?????

  • @andruha11234 That can end this video and cut his sentence short?

  • so you can use it to power an led or some robot killing machine

    lol

  • How to make the led remains lit for a longer period

    pls ans

  • Make a tutorial for the robotic killing machine

  • i did it!

  • can u mabe show us in another video all parts u use and how u build it ? ty in advance

    .

  • Damn you scared the crap out of me

  • Really nice one. I was wondering if you could email me the list of parts needed to build it ?

    My email is ptenchev94@gmail.com

  • I wonder why I keep watching videos such as these, I'll never build anything nor will I be able to :D

  • @ScarletAssassin123 always believe in your self, if your ambitions are true and your resolve strong then there's NOTHING YOU CANT NOT ACCOMPLISH ;)

  • so huh... you like lasers...

  • you should be a role model for school teachers... 99% of them suck, big time.

  • Where else can you see great stuff like this on youtube, so informational, and well made,. Everyone should watch every one of this guy's videos while they are still available, and click on a few adverts in the video so he can make some money at it too!!! Thanks Afrotechmods, keep them coming.

  • @175726 Hey why doesn't my circuit work? i put the MOSFET like in the diagram... the source has the resistor(400 ohms) the drain doesn't have an input put on the other side has the LED and the gate is the photresistor what am i doing wrong?

  • Nice tutorial.

I will use it to switch on my robotic killing machine, xD

  • in addition to below post: for a laser door alarm or "trip wire" you will need to speed up the on/off. still use a 50% duty cycle but increase the frequency. 50% Duty @ 1hz (500ms on/500ms off), 50% Duty @ 2Hz (250ms/250ms off), 50% etc... at a certain point you wont even see flicker. however, even though at 50% duty, the life can still be shortered because at a certain poin the diode starts averaging power and the lifespan will go down. keep the freq. at 2-10Hz

  • There is only one issue with it. Most laser diodes have limited life of 1.14yrs- 5.7yrs of continuous use. while it's a bit more work you should use a microcontroller to turn it on for 500ms, check the input (Cds cell) and use conditional loops, then set output high or low to the MOSFET, then turn it off for 500ms. This will effectively double the life, you could add larger delays. This is basically square wave PWM (Pulse width modulation) with a 50% duty cycle at a very low frequency (1Hz).

  • can someone please tell me what the IRFZ44 is?

  • WHAT HAPPENED IN THE END OF THE TUTORIAL, IT LOOKS LIKE ANNOYING ORANGE HAS MEDDLED

  • when it's dark, my led won't go on and if i put a light on the LDR, then my led goes on, can someone help me why that is ?

  • я с таким игрушками еще в конце 80х развлекался

  • Please can someone tell us all the materials used in this project??? It is urgently needed :)) Thank you very much!!!

  • @Afrotechmods the project is really nice :)) can you please give us the exact materials used in that project and their respective specifications?? We were just confuse about the circuit diagram ...

We are currently doing the project. Plese response ASAP! thank you very much ... :))

  • 1:20 that can turn a cat into the best show on tv

  • my brain just exploded...

  • What kind of voltage relay is that again?

  • Can somebody tell me how he built this? Like more then the schematics. Birds eye view of the breadboard and the parts he used.

  • After watching this, i figured out that i need to go back to the school.

  • Hey what kind of soldering iron is that and where can i get one?

  • LOL! At the end it must have triggered a nuclear explosion!

  • Hey Afroman,

What schematic designer do you use? It looks really nice and I can find any good ones anywhere.

  • @reviathon360 CADsoft Eagle, LTSpice and a lot of Photoshop

  • @Afrotechmods LTSpice for the win!

  • I'm confused. It looks like the circuit diagram has 2 resistors but I only see 1 on the breadboard. Am I misunderstanding something?

  • @DirtyViolator The other is the photoresistor itself..

  • tripwire alarm that can CCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    heh?

  • you are so smart... my mind has been fucked.

  • i love your videos! im addicted.

  • WAIT I DONT KNOW WHAT MY TRIPWIRE WILL DO SINCE IT GOT CUT OFF!

  • XDDDDDDDDDDDD @ "YOU NEED MORE POWAH!!!" LMAFO

  • lol. killing machine.

  • or can i just use a resistor? LOL

  • is it possible to power with a 9v and a voltage regulator? :D

  • I fucking LAUGHED HARD.

  • if you make a laser alarm, can you make it so the alarm stay on?

  • @YourReviewSpot

    This might help

    /watch?v=ic_yEUV7Y3c

  • "Or maybe some sort of robotic killing machine..." XD

  • Oh my god, did you kill the poor cat. Good video.

  • putangina natawa ako sa bandang huli, may sense of humor talaga tong hayop na to... hahahahahahhahahah!!!!

  • i have done this too. its very easy(though im an engineering student). i even wrote my own code with none coding experience! so all hail arduino and its easyness

  • Can this be done with 2 6V batteries?

  • ending scared the shit out of me,LOL xD

  • @liorgo97 me too! :P

  • can we do it with something not visible?

    because laser is visible

  • @toufic851 infrared LED maybe?

  • I would like to build a laser tripwire that would activate a linear actuator to operate a trigger mechanism on a coyote box trap. I would like to power the circut with a 12 volt battery. I am a 15 year old high school freshman so if you could I would need a response in " electric-ease" not too complicated. Also, if you could recommend a source for components. Thanks

    Gatesroad

  • Hi .

I am looking for a circuit that would allow a laser to start an 12v alarm when the beam is cut, but i want the alarm to keep on, as the beam hits again the LDR .Mainly my problem is that when the beam hits again the LDR the alarm stops.

Same as in your video.! Do you know a way to make it work continuously after the beam has been broken.?

  • YOU NEED MORE POWAH!!!

  • Can I use 9V instead of 5V for the circuit?

  • This is the resistance of my photoresistor

    ambient : 2780 ohms

    light : 180 ohms

how do i calculate which resistors to use :S i'm so lost.

    thanks!

  • @killlbot It seems like the one he used will work perfectly for you because if your run the equation 5 x (180/180+2200) you get .37v which will not be enough to open the gate, but when you hit 2780 ohms, it will open gate, his in ambient was 4500 ohms, either resistance will trigger with voltage needed.

  • LOL my cats always scratch at my bedroom door and tear up the carpet when I go to bed. This would be perfect, if I could find a way to connect a spray bottle and motor to this they would stop Tearing up my damned carpet!

  • how many animals was hurt making this film :D

  • @Afrotechmods: thanks for uploading this vid. Can i used this circuit as a single pulse input for my 74LS90 counter?my circuit would be a switch that shorts the input-pin and the ground for each count. if so, do i still need some additional filters to have a clean pulse input? great vids!! : )

  • YOU NEED MORE POWAH HAHAHA XD LMAO

  • hey why type of resistor and transistor should i get?? can sombody show me the link from like radioshack or somthing! please!!!!!!

  • Umm, I tried this with separate power supplies, and it did not work. What do I do? Do I connect both grounds of each power supply? Thanks.

  • @masterpikachu Yeah connect the grounds

  • @Afrotechmods when someont trips it how do you make it stay on

  • @Afrotechmods So, can you set this at the main door of ur house and this will act as an alarm, if it's wired to a speaker with a beep system?, i'm more into programming dude... but this is interesting

  • So, You killed your cat?

  • overvolting rocks!!

  • how can you make the alarm stay on after its been tripped

  • @HoeLily

Google T = RC . Also, use half of an LM358 op amp instead of a mosfet for this cct , use the other half for the delay Look it up! they are cheap - I bought 30 for under $7.50 delivered to my door!

  • My mosfet stays open when i put in 4.5 volts for a pulse.....

  • Nice lol

  • Can i use a TIP126 mosfet for this? does it matter?

  • I love your sense of humor! :-D lol

  • Would the MOSFET (IFRZ44) be able to handle a 4 to 28V buzzer ?

Both grounds go to the same negative and both 5V+ go to a same positive lead ?

  • LMAO that end was funny

  • First off, great video. The schematic is very helpful. Quick questions if I may. Will this work with a 5V 1amp power source from a battery charger?

  • 1 guy disliked this video , what an idiot !!!

  • @TheBarathbushan It was kipkay, he got jealous, obviously.

  • the end scared the crap out of me

  • is there any device that only allows current to flow under some conditions? something like maybe if you get less than 3 volts in the input the output is 0 but when you get more than 3V it acts like it has no significant resistance.

or maybe a device with 3 legs that the ratio between two of them will have an effect on the 3rd which is the formal output.

sorry if I'm asking a kids question, I am new in electronics.

  • Hello Afrotechmods!..

Your video is cool i tried building the circuit and it was successful!..

Can i add something to make the light stay on once the beam is broken?..

Because i will replace the light with siren is that possible man?..

    Hoping for your reply..tnx..=)

  • Super Idea! Using for killing machine :)

  • YOU NEED MORE POWAH!!!!

  • i subscribed cause this vid

  • i hooked it up to a very loud buzzer and it works

  • Could this work with a big ass MOSFET? Im going to be using an IRFP250 for this and i wanna hook it up with an external power supply to trigger a mechanical siren! Keep them bitches outta my room!

  • I love the ending :D

  • and now you have a... *fuzz* LOL

  • sorry man, I'm a total noob here. With transistors like this one, do you need 2 separate power sources? like from source to gate and from source to drain

  • @ThaiFlyGuy You can use the same 5V supply; The dual +5V on the diagram is just a common convention that can help the circuit diagram look cleaner.

  • @Afrotechmods how do you make it stay on after it has been triped?

  • Electronics is The BEST

  • I would pay pig money for this!

  • ahahah xD,

  • Every single one of your videos is pure genius, all them are getting thumbs up! I've been looking for something just like this video. I have a plastic molded kitty that has scary eyes. I'm planning to stick some green luxeons in it's eyes, put a meowing setup in it I pulled out of a kid's story book and then have a trip in the garden to have it all go off when someone comes up the path. Kitty guard.

  • @lexichronicle2 Best. Comment. Ever.

  • @lexichronicle2 can i use your idea?

  • Then it will cshhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Great Tutorial! I'm getting the circuit to work with an LED, however, when I connect a "motor of death" to in place of the LED (and take the resistor out that prevents said LED from burning out), the motor will not operate under the same conditions. (A.K.A. I can't get the motor to spin when the laser is tripped, and stop spinning when the laser is on the photoresistor) Any ideas why?

  • @trevzilla1404 This circuit wasn't designed for high current load motors. Is your motor a big one? If so, take the output of the circuit and feed it to another, beefier transistor. You may also have to switch the photoresistor's position.

  • @Afrotechmods First off, my hat is off to you for replying to all your comments! It's appreciated! Secondly, the motor I'm running is not big at all. It's a tiny little motor that came out of a tape deck. So I have a hard time believing that this circuit wouldn't work for it. (I also don't know a lot about circuits...) I'll go play with the photoresistor's position. And if that doesn't work, I'll try feeding the output to another transistor. Thanks again!

  • @trevzilla1404 - just use a relay...

  • thank you

i learn alot from you and go ahead your videos is so cool

  • How did u determine the 2.2k resistor?is there an equation?

  • thank you sir. I've watched it already, though there are still things needed to be clarified. uhmm..does this 2.2K ohm resistor come from the photoelectric resistor? or is it the other resistor in 1:04 ?thank you sir, i really need this for my project, thanks for the videos and tutorials.

  • where did 2200 ohms came from?

  • @iskangtamad check out the voltage divider tutorial

  • hahhaha!!!

now all I need are some sharks....that I can put the lasers on.

  • lol in the end !

  • just what i needed, a trigger for my fart machine, now i can finish my prank. keep up the good work!

  • awesome thanks a lot for those tutorial

  • very good thanks. love your tutorials

  • You are a serious rival to the vaunted Kipkay. Your stuff is also more pithy and technical, which I like. Keep it coming, man. Excellent stuff.

  • @kc7fys yes and he has an cat just like kipkay

  • @psychopathicfish97 gentlemen, I have come to a conclusion....AFROTECHMODS **IS** KIPKAY

  • @zombiepancakes21 :O holy moly!

  • excellent as always

  • awesome!

  • This looks like fun, I will try this myself!

  • Nice! That's one of those things I have to build - just to say I've done it.

  • Excellent video. Keep it up. Might i suggest a simple video for voltage dividers like the one u used in the circuit^^?

  • Send me some vodka and it's a deal

  • Poor cat.

  • Great video

    Thanks for sharing :)

  • You should write for PopSci or something

  • They've asked me to!

  • Dang... You should definitely be writing a column or something. Did you accept their offer?

  • nein. I was busy with bigger things.
