They tried to restart it but not good. The guy at the mess was mostly suffering from burns and cuts from the det cord and glass of the canopy. The other guy was pretty badly hurt but not permanently. I had just finished flying that day and was leaving the airfield, looked up and saw them nosedive then punch out.

Yeh I guess the comparison between a €5 box of "fire crakers" is a bit inept, usually a fire craker doesnt consist of a 1500lbs of High Explosive, my concern is try being on the wrong end of an explosive, I think images of "Johnny got his gun" spring to mind.
