To all those below who "hate" this and think that the performers should be "killed" etc.: Both Waters and Gilmour actually like the cover version and are fans of the Scissor Sisters. So... if PF likes it, kwitcherbeefin! It's original, isn't a slavish copy, and... has been THE most popular PF cover in the UK.
I love that the cover is not like the original. It is good in it's own way. And you can't cover a Pink Floyd song without sounding like a shitty tribute cover band anyway. So why not do it the way they did. You will not make a song as good as the original, but you can make it fun and spark interest in the original artist. To all those below who "hate" this and think that the performers should be "killed" etc.: Both Waters and Gilmour actually like the cover version and are fans of the Scissor Sisters. So... if PF likes it, kwitcherbeefin! It's original, isn't a slavish copy, and... has been THE most popular PF cover in the UK.

I love that the cover is not like the original. It is good in it's own way. And you can't cover a Pink Floyd song without sounding like a shitty tribute cover band anyway. So why not do it the way they did. You will not make a song as good as the original, but you can make it fun and spark interest in the original artist. There are people young enough to not know who Pink Floyd even are. Help spread awareness...make more covers!

I love Pink Floyd, but think this version is also great due to the sheer difference between the two, takes some doing to get a disco version out of the original! Thats what I find impressive about it anyhow, the words remain the same and its a great song however you get to hear it

You know what. If you don't like a certain kind of music, stay away from it. I love the Pink Floyd original and I love the Scissor Sisters versions. Both are phenomenal songs for different reasons. Everyone is entitles, but being hateful is a waste of space. I don't go to rap music videos cause I know I wont like it. The worst thing anyone could do with a cover version would be to sound like the original. The whole point of cover versions is to create something new from something old, to put your own unique spin on it.

i think it's a great cover. of course it's nothing in comparisson with the original song, but that's ok, they re-made it in a different genre and it worked quite well. it's a great dance track if you're into that kind of music.

The only thing that makes it the same song are the words they sing. If they used different lyrics, would it not be an entirely new song? I was expressing my displeasure with these kids who can't appreciate a song just because it doesn't sound like the original, that's dumb.
