@hyperbaricchicken101 I can see why, since it's a training video, the music and emergency situations (flames appearing, the coughing, the nurse calling "DOCTOR RED, DOCTOR RED!"), as well as the pause between the pull station being activated and the bells going off. Hope everything turned out OK once the alarm was activated and the fire was under control!
On this Faraday alarm if there was glass do you still need to pull the handle down after the glass breaks as it looks like the glass is placed half way? What if you let go after breaking the glass or during the pulling process? Is this alarm harder to pull than the Simplex T-Bar whats the difference in pulling the Faraday?
I've only seen one hospital use bells for fire alarms, but they were Honeywell and Wheelock instead of Faraday (and at least one Simplex system). Most other hospitals I've seen use voice-evacuation systems!
@wileyk209zback I think I also went to only 1 hospital still using bells and that was York hospital. They recently renovated so I dont think they have the bells any longer. I did go to University hospital in Baltimore and the alarms went off only the lights flashed. No sound at all.
@MrWill1985 Strange. Other hospitals I see use speaker/strobes, or in one case, a few speaker/lights (the others were newer speaker/strobes.) One hospital had a Notifier Onyx voice-evac system, the other was a Simplex 4100U (I think).
But speaking of that remote "FIRE" light, I have seen a version like that made by Simplex, but with black "FIRE" lettering and a single bulb; the audible signal was a bell behind a grille.
I used to have one. They're well made, but the switch and glass rod were weird, hard to find. It was in poor condition so I threw it out. I don't know the model number, I mostly work around Simplex, Notifier, and Autocall.

Now they automatically come on! If the Sprinkler/Fire Alarm detects smoke, it automatically turns on the sprinklers and Alarm.

Nice video, but I don't know why instead if pulling the fire alarm, they would just get a fire extinguisher and put it out.
MircomFan 2 years ago
You are supposed to pull the fire alarm first before trying to put out the fire yourself.
