I follow him on Twitter, awesome to see this interview.

The radio news in my area reported this incident backwards -- I was watching the whole thing on Twitter, so I know the order things happened. They said on the radio 400 people were arrested after they stormed City Hall. The mass arrests started, then they went to City Hall.

We need to Occupy the media and just listen to each other.

It's hard to know for sure what happened. Someone posted a first-hand account on Reddit the night of the incident saying the movement was looking to occupy - not the YMCA - but a derelict building near the protest. So now there seems to be some conflicting reports.

Can anyone shed more light on this?

@gnomechomskylives I heard about the abandoned space right away also, forget where from. I didnt hear about YMCA til the media started talking.

Maybe some anarchists got out of hand, but the majority was for the abandoned building I know, because this isnt the first time they have discussed and actually taken over abandoned buildings, which the YMCA is not one of.

The point is these buildings are wasting away while people can use them, and most have no plans for the building.

@gnomechomskylives Ah, he said some escaped through the YMCA area, so I bet its a frame.

At 6min in, he explains how the idea got out that they were occupying the YMCA.

So people were escaping through there, and the police then claimed they were burgling.

Reminds me when you are confronted by police and say something they dont like and they can claim your resisting arrest even if your not.
