how do you get didi & dk to be controlled at the same time? i know you have to switch characters near the barrel, but it never works for me

You have to tap select button VERY FAST near a barrel, with Diddy controled by the computer inside of the barrel.

Is hard to get, but will work.

other easy way is:

Enter in a stage alone, pick a DK barrel, thrown, in the same time that you thrown(or anytime that the barrel is still in the air, before crashes), press start and select and exit the stage, enter again, and go to a bottomless pit with a enemy, and make a enemy hit and make you fall in the bottomless pit(only work in bottomless pits, if a enemy hit you and you dont fall in a pit, you be stuck) after that, enter in a stage, and pick and thrown a DK barrel normally

Here`s a glitch i have figured out,do you know the big fat tubby croc wearing an army helmet and a belt buckle who keeps walking left and right in in the first level well select diddy alright and keep jumping on his head it wont kill him but it should knock him to the right or left depending on which direction youre facing him in well try knock him off the ledge he is walking on alright and he`ll still keep walking only difference he`s walking on the same spot,text me if it works for you.

does that trick work on the real cartridge as well as emulator. if so how do you set it up

Yes it does. I recorded it with an emulator so I could get a clearer picture than pointing a camera at the TV.

What you have to do is start the level Oil Drum Alley. Break the halfway barrel and exit (start + select). Start the level again, walking to the left, until you reach the bit where the video starts. You then have to jump across onto the ledge without touching the barrel. Thats all you have to do to "set it up" from there on just copy what you see in the video.
