  • ONE M00:00RE TIME!!

  • how high are you?

    yes

  • better than frank zappa

  • @pinkygilmour46 Technically, complexity of music and composition, Zappa is far more advanced. It's possible however that your taste matches better with PF. That could change if you listen more Zappa.

  • @piregister ive listend to zappa he's pretty good but you are right my taste is more pink floyd but its whatever you like, didnt mean to offend ya back there its just im more for pf.

  • Nice, almost as good as Frank Zappa.

  • @piregister Fuck Frank Zappa

  • OH MY GOD!! how did the Pink Floyd come up with such incredible chord progressions? its fucking genius! i can't get over it! its like classical music, the stuff they wrote! best band ever

  • this one takes me back to the midnight movie hanging with some other white punks on drugs and trippin balls

  • @dsesin7 Hmm /watch?v=wCuAev4VYUE&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL

:) music starts shortly after the french intro, it's in 5 parts uploaded by the same user (you can just listen to them back to back by clicking on the "x videos thingy")

  • @M4hB thanks! I'm listening to it right now. I'm really enjoying it thank you so much!

  • Thank you for sharing one of the best music sets in the history.

  • Saw this on the TV decades ago, listen to it regularly now and every time it is still bloody awesome. The Pink Floyd are on a higher level altogether.

  • Well i just watched this video and all i have to say is....THANK YOU PINK FLOYD!!!

  • 19:04

  • This is soooooooo much better than the director's cut.

  • @Fireinthefudgehole i agree on that, i bought the director's cut myself viewed it it was different but the good thing is that the original is on the director's cut as well.

  • WOW! Timeless piece...

After 40 years, still so powerful, contemporary and ground braking!

It's like it was created yesterday. Great piece of art!

  • 37:30 watch out! a flying drumstick!

  • IMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I don't understand why my generation is listening to all that crappy hip hop, RnB, Techno, Trance ect.. When you can listen to this? I really wish i lived in the 70's and 80's.. but i'm really glad that my father has caused me to hear on all these classics and generally GOOD music! And i hope i can give the same to people in my generation or next! Cause this music will never die, period.

  • @Gibsonlover1234 Because that's the music that they like! There is no such thing as "Good music". It's entirely subjective, whatever you like is good to you.

  • @Gibsonlover1234 Keep on listening to Pink Floyd......kid. This is the best band on earth.

  • @Gibsonlover1234 Pink Floyd were one of the first bands to use sampling;)

  • @Gibsonlover1234

    keep on dreamin ;)

  • PINK FLOYD.

  • help me I'm crying

  • One of the best Live preformances in the 70s......."Little by little the night turns around"

  • Those 3 "not like" nerds haven't even listen to the entire (master)piece , I bet on it ...

  • an hour has never gone by so fast. how have i never seen this before?

  • Great hd sound!!!

  • There are 2 Beibermaniac over there!!

  • Nick Mason rules here!!!

  • THIS is the original live at pompeii. the new cut has something different in the sound and all the notes seem to be higher

  • I've seen this approximately 17 times now and it just keeps on getting better and better. Pink Floyd are just amazing.

  • 0:37:35 Look ..Nick lost his drumstick but realy fast take another one ..no problem :)Awesome drummer

  • Wow... The full original version, pitch corrected, and you even bothered to put in the starting time for each song.

You my friend have just won an internet point.

  • Been a huge fan of Floyd since I was a little kid growing up in the 70's. Didn't have computers, video games or cell phones. Had cool parents, some cool toys and Pink Floyd albums. How great it would have been though to have a computer back then to access great stuff like this. Awesome band and music.

  • @KISSFAN1970 yeah but in saying that people take it for granted. so you wouldnt apreciete itt as much as you do know. i remmember in the late 80s early 90 i was starved of the sex pistols stuff as everybody hated them. this made them more intriuging to me. know of course everybody makes out they were into them which is cpmplete crap

  • @victorseay Apparently all the other major bands at the time were doing hude concerts like woodstock etc. so Pink Floyd decided they would do their own private concert for the viewer in the middle of nowhere. Sort of like we'll play where there's nobody to listen type thing. I suppose it could be taken as an artistic premise.

  • A fucking masterpiece. God DAMN!

  • @wazinwanaka FUCKING MASTERPIECE is RIGHT ON.....click on "One of These Days" absolutely blows away anything "corporate America" is churning out.....people wonder why music sales are down.....listen to this BEAUTY...and compare to today's NONSENSE and you'll see why.....FUCKING AMAZING!

  • @wazinwanaka Turn on "One of These Days" and remember, this was where the Roman Empire once stood....FREAKING A MAN!

  • @wazinwanaka WAZ...what makes it EVEN MORE of a masterpiece...NO CROWD...they were that freaking "ON"--with NO CROWD!!

    *****

Wikipedia----In 1971, the rock band Pink Floyd recorded the live concert film Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii, performing six songs in the ancient Roman amphitheatre in the city. The audience consisted only of the film's production crew and some local children."

    ^^^^^^^

Can you imagine seeing them where the ROMAN EMPIRE once stood! WOW, JUST WOW!

  • Good to hear how the concert is supposed to sound like (Unlike Universal's halfassed attempt - they used a PAL Master)!!!!!!

  • You'll never get bored of this performance..........

  • I'd like to know who the one retard is that disliked this...

  • @wickedwillow7

Most likely the current EU President.

    Ban anything positive.

  • thanks for sharing.

echoes played when young men as here is their testament.

  • La primera canción que escuché de Floyd, fue "Another Brick in the wall", por consiguiente, the wall fue el primer álbum que escuché hace unos 12 años atrás, ahora no hay un día que no deje de escucharlos y cada vez es mejor.....

  • CONCERTO CHE TI SQUARTA L'ANIMA DIREI.

  • amazing. great. listening to other kinda "music" is just a wast of time

  • 49:34 , LOL

  • Someone could confirm a rumor here in my country Bolivia?, Pink Floyd is supposed to chose at first to play this concert in the ruins of Tiwanaku, but due to the government of that time in Bolivia, could not be performed. Please tell me if this is true?

  • I remember the first time I watched this. It was 2 am on a Sunday evening not so long ago, I was with my dad in the living room watching bbc, he's always been a Floyd fan- every since I can remember. I'm a 14 year old girl, and after watching this- I'm so sad to say, I wish I was born a different time.

  • @Rainmakerlola i'm right with u i'm a 13 year old boy and started listening to pink floyd when i was 9 and i never have been able to get into the rap and pop of today. so then when pink floyd became my favorite band i went to see "ROGER WATERS THE WALL LIVE" for my 12th birthday with my dad and it was definatley the best moment of my life and my dad has been to rock concerts with bands that he even likes bettaer than the floyd and said it was the best show i've every seen!

  • i love it

  • @elephanta2

Probably due to their usual very high standards of quality. Most of the recordings from that period were of typical bootleg quality, and even the best ones, such as the ones on Volfgangs Vault, were soundboard recordings that suffered from balance problems (especially with the vocals). Unless you have a multitrack recording to work from, it's bloody difficult to rectify errors...

  • I see the dog disliked it.

  • @ejl1000 the only person that did drugs on pink floyd was syd barret and he left because of the drugs... because of what happened to Syd the rest of the band never did drugs and if someone said that they liked drugs they would get really pissed

  • The reason there aren't any good bands any more is because nobody does drugs. Think about it. Most of, if not, all of the worlds best music was written under the influence of drugs: The Beatles, Floyd, Hendrix, Sabbath to name a few.

  • Oh. My. God. Wow.

  • i want a butterfly tshirt

  • Less than 1/1000 % auf the people all of the world have clicked this great Video Clip from Pink Floyd.shame on you crazy Bings.

  • Great video - 1972 fantastic time!

  • Why the hell would 1 person thumbs down this video? What an asshole.

  • OMFG !!! This must be teached in public schools

  • @elbahstardo

"teached" in public schools? Maybe you should have gone to school to learn the English language. It's TAUGHT in public schools, NOT teached. How ironic...lol..

  • MaverickMediaUK - thank you so much for sharing this extraordinary video concert with us. To hear Pink Floyd perform in this theater in Pompeii must have been unbelievable, considering the acoustics this theater is known for. I am an old-timer, and have always been; and always will be, a Pink Floyd Aficionada. This is perhaps the most outstanding live film video of this most outstanding musical group.

  • What a MARVELOUS site for a Pink Floyd performance! The way that the outdoor theater was built by the people in Pompeii was built not only for ideal viewing, but for ideal acoustics as well. I can't even fathom how astonishing Pink Floyd must have sounded in this setting. I saw them on their "Animals" tour at the Tampa Football Stadium, and they were unbelievable. But to have seen/heard them in this place, Pompeii - man!! Betcha all the ghosts that must be there have never been the same since!

  • Serious question: Is anyone knowledgeable enough about cinematography (at least, in 1972) to tell me what the purpose of the aqua-blue parasol/umbrella is over to the lower right of the screen during "Echoes?" Or, do you think it might be just one of those surreal Floydian jokes? If I were to guess, I'd say it had some actual function, but what? Thanks in advance to anyone who answers -- or thinks they can answer -- this inquiry.

  • So freaking awesome. For deep Floyd heads.

  • I CAN'T WITH THIS CONCERT, IS JUST SO FUCKING PERFECT!!!

everytime i see it i want more and more hahahaha.

  • ....and gilmour was a very handsome boy! :-)

  • Great! Great! Great! they're 1000 years ahead, in music and phylosophy...

Love Pink Floyd, the soundtrack since I was only 14... and they've never bored me!

    Thanks!

  • Impresionantes Floyd.

Pozdrawiam

  • The dog loves their music! Just like me.. :)

  • absolutely goddamn sublime

  • 11:40 - need I say more?

  • YES! FUCKING YES!

  • Comment removed

  • how the hell can u upload this, awesome thanks very much, it's much better quality than the one i downloaded too, cheers

  • Who is who in first/second voice in Echoes?

I guess Gilmour is the first voice, though I'm not sure.

  • @johanssonb NO, you're wrong =) gilmour is the one without beard. Water is the "bearded " one =)

  • Rispondi a questo video... Gilmour is the second

  • @johanssonb Richard Wright segun yo !

  • why aren't there any other groups like this and the others who lived in the 60th/70th? Probably the businessman understood that these music band can change the world? Is that why we live in a world with no good music at all? bleah

  • @MrP953 Completely different times my friend. T'was a different country with different attitudes. Today, the rife disposable culture has stripped life and its pleasures of value. Stroll through any british town centre - could you really imagine Pink Floyd again? Projects like Concorde WOULD NEVER have been achieved in today's socialist europe. In 1971 it was still accepted that some individuals are more gifted than others; thus Pink Floyd. Today this band would be unfair. I think. Sad.
  • @MrP953 rather than asking why there's no other group like floyd... maybe ask yourself, how was there a group like floyd? Be thankful there was a floyd. If you were an artist youself, you'd realise what a fluke this band were.

  • @MrP953 ALMOST no good music... mind Fleet Foxes...;)

  • @MrP953 There are bands this good but the thing is everything that became popular about pink floyd idealistically, is because historically, these ideas were the natural response to things like vietnam, (roger waters' emphasis on the importance of human life?) you take away the real world problems, and suddenly artists find that if you lament on problems during prosperity in music, it doesn't catch on, look at the 90's. cheap easy feel good music for an easy time in history. art represents life.

  • great to see the band so young, i saw animals/wish you were here at the garden in 77, what a dynamic and expressive show, pure musicianship and psychedelia melded into one concert!!!!

  • gilmore the best

  • where's nick mason during mademoiselle nobs?

  • Bless you! Thank you so much for uploading this! I have spent days just trying to piece together clips to make a playlist so that I could experience this moment in musical history. THANK YOU so very much for taking the added time to list the song pieces and their time references! I have had such a hard time finding this anywhere in the United States except for ebay~I don't "do" ebay~ and I do not understand why in the world I have not been able to find this on dvd. THANK YOU! ~pamela

  • @Darrenc68

You could always just go to demonoid and download an image of the DVD...

  • @Darrenc68 Surely, this is not out of print. I bought this DVD at Sam's Club, not quite ten years ago. But if it is, you can surely find it on ebay and not have to go through the waiting of an auction.

  • 3:46 the worlds longest zoom in

  • Amazingly Awesomely Super Rock!!! ★★★★★★★Forever★★★★★★★Stars★★★★★★★>

Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii (1972) (Original Cut) !!!(O)_(O)!!!

  • Amazingly amazing on all levels. Thanks Martin!

  • @ThomasSheridanArts Them damn hippies sure know how to wake the dead. You're welcome...

  • @MaverickMediaUK

I first saw this on TV late one night when I was 15 or so and I was just a thick working class kid and I can recall how the visuals, the presentation and the music made me see that "art" could be presented in many diferent ways. Real personal education for me.

  • @ThomasSheridanArts I can see how that could happen. I think I was about the same age, as you when I was becoming more interested in music. Art appreciation mostly came a bit later. Those days as of now I gravitated to, what could be called different ways of expression. I remember being very taken by A Saucerful of Secrets - melody and dissonance. I thought it was terrific - for a thick kid...

  • ...and one of the best bands in rock history. The quality is unbelievable good!

  • One of the best films in rock history.

  • @elephanta2 Absolutely. Not so sure about the dog tho.

  • @MaverickMediaUK I think the dog barks because the pitch of the harmonica hurts his ears. But the rest of the film is fantastic

  • @elephanta2 Amen to that! This movie had a lasting effect on my psyche.

  • I don't know why PF doesn't release their live recordings from 1966 to 1973 like The Rolling Stones doesn't release their live recordings with Mick Taylor. Those recordings are absolutely tresures of rock.

  • @discoverytime1 Hah! Ain't that the thruth! Saw this on TV when I was 7, and I haven't "recovered" to this day, and I'll be 40 in 6 months... Echoes and Set The Controls here is so monumental it's undescribable! The rest is pretty mind blowing too. Pink Floyd!

  • i have the same video just great my son +++******* ++ bravo

  • @echoes707 THANKS so much for sharing with me such an awesome video my dear friend! =)

  • i love you my son my wife she wont to adopt you,,,,, great movie million stars ***************** bravo for a good job

  • @echoes707 Cheers Echoes. You make me laugh, which is good.
