  • popper's falsification 101

  • LUMINOUS WHAT IS THE PATTERN ????

  • yes!

  • 9414324343151265932105459321054872390486828512913474876027671959234602385829583047250165232525929692572765536436346272718401201264314754632945012784726484107562234789626728592858295347502772262646456217613984829519475412398501

  • This is insanity maaax! Commander Riker accosted my wife and blew up the station.

  • Why did that just remind of the "23 enigma"? being so obsessed with a number that you see it everywhere.

  • actually, the only thing preventing us from fully analysing a go game is available space & computation time..

  • Every conspiracy nut should watch this particular clip and understand it. If you look hard for evidence that supports your theory and ignore the evidence that is contrary to your beliefs, you become a bigger and bigger conspiracy nut.

  • @Indrius Or rather cracker!

  • @Indrius very true...9/11 conspiracy theorists were even folding up dollar bills and claiming that the resulting image was a collapsing tower...obsession distorts the thought process into a weirdly subjective manner

  • lol I had 216 results when I typed in "pi patterns"

  • I saw Pi at the movies when I was 14. It opened my mind to a vast universe of possibilities.

  • 6x6x6= 216

    360-216= 144

    12 x 12 = 144

  • @PhuQuangLe111 Film "Lilo and Stitch" example 626/ numbered created beings with specific traits not formed from the beginning. The making of spiritual beings with specific traits, traits that are not naturally existing. Perhaps you have heard of the cloning of humans or perhaps creating humans with hearing as a wolf. This number system is first in spirit and then manifested in flesh later. As Juan Lee made a machine to extract physical elements others made spiritual machine.

  • 1/f noise

  • I'm sick of background music from this scene, I can't find it on official soundtrack. Help me find this treasure !

  • I find it scary

  • wittgenstein would've loved this movie

  • Very good film. That's my opinion. And it inspired me to learn math more. Math in school is just poor.

  • i found a pattern and am looking for the right people to talk to about it. the pattern i found exist but i feel is very overlooked. i assume most will say i'm making it up and whatever but this pattern is something i want to share.

  • @lostapparition share..

  • @lostapparition how do u want to share it?

  • fantastic movie

  • can anyone send me a link so i can watch this film it looks really good but carnt find it anywere

  • sorry , does any of you know the background of music,on this scene?

can you help me to find it? let me know .....

  • @die22zeit download PI - OST, all music for the movie is there

  • @souflondon1 it's available on dvd at amazon. if you're looking for a free download, not sure where you would find it.

  • the movie just flirts with scientific and religious terms and theories, but as someone already mentioned, if you got stuck on those and try to find the film's value in them, you've missed the point.

  • fucking numerologists

  • Comment removed

  • 1 Thing. PLANK SCALE GEOMETRY.

  • @BCzepa Oh god... save me.

  • i love all the people speculating about the mathematical theorys in this movie and that they are bullshit. of course they are! you've missed the point! this movie is not about to prove anything. its about the main character drifting into madness

  • @MrMushroom123

So, is that the final proof of mathematics? Insanity!

  • @MrMushroom123 I think it's more than just the guy going crazy. I think in the end, he realizes that our physical human consciousness cannot understand the pattern, so he had to take himself to the next level so to speak.

  • @MrMushroom123 Is this madness? Describe for me the comprehension of spiritual patterns and the combinations therefore. If you think this was a representation of madness it only proves that you and the 12 that voted your comment up are devoid of gnostic/ Knew mer ologist! This movie proves there are those who seek entertainment versus those who seeks answers in everything. Applied energies do a drugging effect as well as cause nose bleeds, intense headaches & alter countenances. (Another record)

  • @MrMushroom123 The hell ... It's actual based on alot of real mathematics and theories. Some may go far "left" for the point of being a film....and the character drifting into madness is your interpretation of the movie; it's not universal.

  • Lemmy: I'm a mathematician too! bla bla bla Torah, bla bla bla

    Max: That's a fibonacci sequence.

    Lemmy: fibowhat?

    Max: *clusterheadache*

  • It's tempting to think that there is some key action or piece of knowledge that will explaining everything in the cosmos.

  • Barrier in the matrix of the human body.

  • mr shikkidance, i told you. you're my first priority

  • toutes créations a un créateur.

  • what's the name of this movie ?

  • @Yamakoto120 Pi

  • @proadmin1 3.1415

  • @Yamakoto120 'Pi'

    imdb.com/title/tt0138704/

  • @Yamakoto120 'Pi' (1998)

  • It's funny how many ridiculous theories there are about this movie. They've seen one leaf, then they invent an entire forest off bullshit around that leaf and meanwhile ignore everything else they missed.

  • and me who was thinking about the universe as being a place full of balance and harmony like the way the organs in my body work. You bring destruction you can disable that balance of the body and it descends into chaos and to the elements it came from...

  • Nash was having none of the Go board, equilibriated that shit all over the place. put a Hex on it.

  • Anyway, Go is an awesome game you should all check out.

  • "As soon as you discard scientific RIGOR, you're no longer a mathematician, you' re a numerologist !"

maybe that's why he fucked up his brain with that screwdriver

  • @janporra - nah that's just the sol character being a bad jew. fuck knows why - same reason ur doing it probably. why do u deny truth? truth = beauty. don't understand why so many in this world ignore truth and create such blaspheme and unenjoyable-anything. i know u all know u r lying, u know it's real.

  • @janporra "Knew Mer Ologist" = Specializing Gnostic.

  • @janporra he drilled his brain out to remove knowing what the pattern in pi was, so he could be at peace again.

  • @whatbass Suposedly he couldn't handle the truth, even if that's all he was looking for in the stock market to begin with. Why do you think the director wanted the protagonist to feel that truth is suffering? Is that a good message overall? Maybe we're missing something, just drilling your head cannot make you deny truth... is the pandora's box, once opened, there's no turning back!

  • Why did I have to find this again....my brain aches and my heart pounds when I think about it. I cant decide whether its real or just my mind seeing what it seeks. I know for one thing the golden ratio repeats when I have panic attacks and seizures.....the the blinking lights and a spiral. Sometimes in my dreams im catching snails again and selling them for bait.....am I crazy? Whatever...who cares!Life is life.

  • i love this movie!!! it is genius

  • Great movie. terrible math. Wonderful examination of intelligence.

  • "this is insanity max"

    "OR MAYBE IT'S GENIUS!"

  • Numerology is just...

  • Awesome movie.

  • reminds me of the number 23

  • He is wrong, read the latest bombshell of a book which has recently discovered a pattern in Pi ...read the Genesis Grid sold on authorhouse

  • @DreamworldTV Many patterns have been discovered in pi through out history but as more and more of pi is examined and calculated, the more theories on patterns are debunked, as well as created.

  • @moeknot Sorry my friend, I don't mean to be rude but that is not what the experts have been saying. For your argument to be more convincing you'll have provide further clarification.

  • conspiracy of patterns

  • That is totally unhealthy behavior. I just got out of a marriage where she saw 22 everywhere. So I tried to explain to her than any series of numbers could be turned into 22 if you play with the arithmetic long enough. She eventually mentally retreated into compulsive behavior that is to complex to explain here

Eventually I saw a video from someone who decided to "look for cupcakes". As soon as she decided to look for cupcakes they were everywhere. Its the same with anything. Seek & you find.

  • @Darkensmith321 sorry man - damn numerologists.

  • True mine is the number 8 or any combination of numbers with a sum total of 8 when added down to a single digit. I've been there. License plates, time, price costs, any number of objects ect. On a numerological level I've even seen the correlation to astrology in the random passing of cars in a numerous set of circumstances that relates to the signs, Dodge ram, Chevy caprice, Ford mustang (sagitarius), Ford Taurus, mercury (virgo/gemini), firebird (scorpio/phoenix).

  • Con't... I understand the younger guy because if there is an order be it on a mathematical or numerological level it's well worth the torment if there indeed is a promise of figuring out the intricacies of the "go-board" which is what #'s are used for anyway, security, something to stand on something predictable, tangible, malleable or to make sense out of. But if it's your mind thats making the numbers conform to your observations in the 1st place then what are you really doing?

  • @ShemSonz - Thoughtful comment Shem.

  • @ShemSonz if you add up one of every coin/note from £50 down to 1p you get £88.88. it probably goes up further as well but im not sure you get £500 pound notes or even £200s.

  • It's true, I once got obsessed with the number 117, like from Halo. Then I saw in the bible john 1:17 and realized that particular reading reflected the first trailer for halo 3.. and i've been seeing 117 repeated everywhere.

Also, once I had a numerical error when trying to connect my router, I was mad at it so much that I remembered it, then I could see the pattern everywhere in all my calculations. it was a serious trip.

  • I love his accent : )

  • wow, that scene his genius in its own right!

  • Wow, Ron Paul is a great actor.

  • this made smile on my face :D

you are not matemathician, you are numerologist :D

  • "You´ll find it everywhere in nature"...does this also count for finding beautiful, indecent AND intelligent women?

  • Beauty and intelligence are only in the mind/society of the schema beholding it.

  • Precisely1

  • actually, beauty is represented perfectly by the golden ratio. relating to.. the fibonacci sequence and what not..with the spiral.

Actually, its not beauty as it is more symmetry, that's why people say actors like morgan freeman or elizabeth hurley are especially beautiful. On a discovery channel program I saw once, researches tried to map out the golden ratio to physical ratio's on these actor's faces, and their faces were nearly perfectly proportional to that ratio.

  • Max just got burned

  • WTF?! I wanted to share this awesome clip in a forum! as if the embedding is disabled! ...lame...

  • @the13joker I will find the number and come after you first.

  • i got this movie , i seen it dozen of times, never get tired of seen it. it tells the story that Wall street wants to have a big enought computer to run numbers to predict the rise and fall of the market , and supossely (in the movie) some religious numerologist are trying to find the number that represents begining and end, in other words GOD. A 216 digit number that represents God. but if translated in Jewish alphabet that number would reveal the true name of God. And undo everything.

  • the number is real

and if anyone found it, it would be up to God

so i trust that things will ultimately work out

everything is perfect regardless of our capacity to see that

  • "Maybe, there is a pattern, but we are not aware of it."

  • check Nassim Haramein work ;)

  • @happykebap That's the same as the all-flawed God argument "You can't disprove his existence"

If a mathematician wants to tell us there is a pattern, then show us the pattern? If we cannot find/understand this pattern, then it doesn't exist as far as math goes.

  • Comment removed

  • never seen this movie but kind of went temporarely crazy with the pattern idea, its like you start working on something and always feel like you're getting close to something, but then its like pi, it neverends and its useless.

  • This is a good film

  • what if...we're missing a piece of the PI...as in 2 mathmatical happenings making 1 ? like, pi is the C of a circle right, what if the space surrounding (inverted curve) brings out a pattern?

I was also wondering how many 3.1etc................you need before your in nano calculation territory, for real life use.

ALSO what do you do about rounding up cause 3.14159 would make it closer to 3.142 than 3.141.

also pi tastes nice with gravy and numerology and planetry systems are 2 different games

  • i like the movie's intensity, it's like the director really understands how disturbing obsession can be.

  • The same director who really understood who harrowing and disturbing addiction can be, too.

    Darren Aronofsky is a legend.

  • this is from the film PI, I also have a very relevant question, say you know 3.142 etc w/e how do you get the next number? because that in itself is the pattern...its something to do with division they showed us in school way back when, I can't find the info im looking for on the net. PM me.

  • What school did you go to? It is correct "that itself is the pattern" but you can't find the next number in Pi with some division and stuff :p

Pi is an irrational number -> no pattern

  • It is a infinite sum where you continue taking partial sums and get closer and closer to the 'true' value.

    4-4/3+4/5-4/7+4/9-...etc.

  • Pi = 4 / sqrtPhi

  • No, Pi = 3.1415926535...

    4.sqrtPhi = 3.1446055...

    Close, but not equal.

If they were equal PI would be an algebraic number, and wouldn't be half as mysterious as it actually is.

  • There is a pattern in everything!!

  • Patterns for patterns, eternity for eternity. The beggining and the end. xD it's all fucking related.

  • There's no pattern behind go, or at least none that is computable with our current means

  • pi pi pi ima ramblin wreck from gatech and a helluva engin eer

  • well thats the point, there is no proof that there is a pattern, which is how the theory comes about

also, the fact that its a theory, not a law or a fact, its the best we got so far, so its what we have to go on

  • the young actor is very very poor.

  • That's true. in numerology, you can make the numbers say whatever you want. In mathmatics, you must integrate a scientific process

  • Of all the great hauntingly shot scenes in this film, this is one scene i think about the most. What Saul is saying is true, when one's mind is grasping one thing, its blocks everything and you see the thing your mind is grasping everywhere. Whether it will be a book, character, film, theme, or simple number. Its happened to me many times but i never wondered why till just recently.

  • if that guy is so intelligent why would he even consider the possibility of the torah having been given by gd with some kind of pattern in it... you could just invent and adapt a pattern to it and if the result is some improbable coincidence, why would it even mean anything

and them physicists always say, maths can fit an ideal model to something thats not exactly it but only an aproximation well whatever what am i talking about

  • I'm no math genius, and I know, I do get the feeling too, that this part of the movie sounds really interestingly smart and edgy and all but... is it just me or do you get the feeling a mathematician would laugh at this shit... I mean if someone smarter could give us some insights, but this talk aint nothing new and sounds really conceited

  • I dont think that they meant this to be a scene were it is two brilliant minds fighting against each other, but more of a child argueing with his father...the child dosent want to be wrong so he creates a situation that might prove him to be right, and the father is there to disprove it with common logic.

  • >>>>>>>>>>what is the game their talking about

  • go. it's the most complex board game in the world. the game tree complexity of it dwarfs chess.

  • The protagonist sounds like the patients on the Psych Unit I worked on, run-of-the-mill nuts, not genius. Not even in the overlap region between genius and insanity. Besides that his aggressiveness regarding his pursuit is annoying.

  • strong polish accent

  • hogwawsh!

  • what they are talking about is a holographic view of the universe and fractal mathematics

    cool psychedelic stuff

  • Like the 23 enigma, once you start looking fou see it everywhere.........

  • what's the 23 enigma?

  • Look up W S Burroughs and Robert Anton Wilson.

  • 666...

  • They made a movie about it called "the number 23". Don't watch it though, it sucks.

  • yeah i seen it, its worst thatn a donkey diarrea, the main character is played by jim "shitty" carey

  • ok dude ill search it hereo n youtube

hope its not conspiracy shit cuz i don't like that. thx for the info

  • I was fascinated by this film.

I sampled some dialog from 'Pi' in my song 'The Golden Ration' found on myspace/superiorinsect.

Thanks Darren A. for your inspiration....

  • Amazing movie.

  • What a fantastic movie.

  • Good movie

  • samples from this movie are used by both lost children of babylon and jedi mind tricks. damn thats deep

  • there is no pattern behind the game of GO trust me

  • not that ull ever see, or be able to calculate

  • there is no pattern behind the game of GO trust me

  • there won't be proper order, how do you explain the Heisenberg princibel of uncertainty.

  • Yargh don't be such a pessimist :(

  • "But as the go game progresses the possibility becomes smaller and smaller, the board does take an order. Soon all the moves are predictable..."

"...there is a pattern, and order, underlying every go game, maybe that pattern is like the pattern in the stock market, the torah, this 216 number..I HAVE TO GET THAT NUMBER"

This the best movie ever made. Clever, interesting, challenging, outstanding. And I agree with Max, there is A PATTERN.

  • "There will be no order.

Only chaos!" ...this is the most important insight human beings will ever have.

  • So.....what's the difference between a mathematician and a numerologist?

  • Numerology is a pseudoscience like astrology.

  • I like how some airhead gave you a thumbs down for stating facts.

  • @elias12186 astrology isn't even pseudoscience, it's not worthy of such a name

  • @elias12186 and in contrast, mathematics is a real science, like astronomy.

  • @elias12186

Number theory is the mathematical study of numbers.

You could call it "Scientific numerology"

  • @johanhendriks haha oh really?

  • @PatrickLars - number theory is a recognised area of study in maths. most number-savants or maths genius' can see the landscape itself, and many have tried to explain it, how it looks to the minds eye etc.

look at cathedral blueprints, it's all done in proportions. take that away - and it's the reason maths makes little sense to so many people.

tellingly, that science is removed from art teaching too, despite being how layouts are arrived at in oils, etc...

  • @randomlaughingman I know that.. that is the reason why i commented on his.. testing how far he would go but unfortunately he did not respond.. oh well, are you interested in mathematics?

  • @PatrickLars - yes, but i wouldn't claim to be anything special in it.

  • @randomlaughingman same here, but number theory is too overrated i dont know why

  • @PatrickLars - don't think that - if u can see the pattern (ie - the inner landscape that some people can see in their minds eye) then it's the same as how this universe is created (usually known as 'sacred geometry' these days).

i think it's like a lot of other things tho - if left unchecked, studying it ends u up wasting time looking at really intricate eddies, and u miss the whole picture & context of what the point of it was in the first place, investigating number relationships.

  • @PatrickLars - that's why that films' called 'the matrix' - this is all an n-dimensional matrix, and what appears in each 'display' if u like depends on all kinds of other inputs of the variables that occupy or feed into it.

eg - thoughts happen b4 actions, but after enough complexity people begin to not be aware of their unconscious thoughts any longer, and they become steered by the complexity itself, lost in the sea, but not following the tao either.

  • @PatrickLars - the n-dimensional matrix is depicted in the torah indeed, it's a grid - ie u can read it thru the pages as well as linear or per page, plus the language is numbered and there's different ways of assigning what number values appear per each letter in the grid - but all exist at the same time, in each of the spaces.

it's just a simple pattern that repeats. but there's feedback and all kinds of other things, hence it becomes complex quickly. change 1 letter & u change many things.

  • @randomlaughingman you got a point... hmm good film though

  • @PatrickLars - that whole movie is just about computer security, and how it matches to actual reality. oracle - Oracle database, obviously. agents - they are named after SNMP, it uses agents to monitor networks. it's about hacking, same way 'magic' and all the surpressed sciences in offline reality are 'hacks' of the system, in the sense of the system as a superimposed falseness over actual reality, held by mind-control concepts in peoples heads alone.

  • @PatrickLars Number theory is overrated... Sir, you stepped on my soul... *slaps glove in face*. There are patterns in pi. Pi contains all the information in the universe, the only problem is that it also contains a lot of random bullshit.

  • @noxure Pi = ORDnumber-BULLshit . . . you only need to extract the bullshit :)

  • @PatrickLars

    nah, I lied

  • @johanhendriks oh.. dont worry about it

  • @elias12186 - yeah cause there's no order at all in how a bunch of objects can come to have consistent orbits around another object/s.

the slight gravitational differences in even just stars effects here, are why land shapes the way it does over time. not the only factor obviously but very much related. the moons effect is far more obvious (cause it's closer), on tides, human emotions, water uptake in plants..

  • I like how some guy gave you thumbs up for asking a question.

  • movie is awesome... have the same argument with myself all the time too

  • "Slow down your losing it, you have to take a breath."

  • Listen to Sol, he knows best!

  • who made this video i got to buy this movie

  • Ouch, that "numerologist" remark cut deep...

  • great picture
