Only thing that is annoying with this is that there is no thread for lenses.

It is pocket sized and the build quality is excellent, low light shots aren't great but that's common with most camcorders (I wouldn't shoot in low light anyway).

Looking at the SR10, to get my lens fix and to get rid of my sony dv tape camcorder, oh and no remote for the TG3 but it wasn't designed for that type of use, which is also why there is no thread on it.

I want this camera only the memory stick and the mini hdmi port is driving me away from it. Do you get a mini hdmi cable with it?

how long can you record video with this camera??when you have a 8 gb memcard can you record 2 hours?

Still i like the canon vixia hf100 better then this camcorder cause even if u have a bigger memory card like 16 or 32gb u still can't record more that 90 minutes on one full recharge.

Hey mwongozi you forget to show the little memory card that was taped inside the second black box that has the cd/dvd and other language manuals. In the video you didn't notice that and just threw away the box. I hope you didn't throw away the box afterwards did u???

great video dude, i just wanted to know your opinion on the camcorder, so is it ayny good?? is the quality good under low light? have you got any sample videos using the camcorder that i can watch?

It's very good for its size. Low-light performance is "OK", not great, but not bad either. It lacks a nightshot mode.

Every video in my profile after this one was filmed with it.

Mwongozi hi there again i hope your well. i have just recived my camcorder and i bought a battery and charger for it and memory stick mark 2. everything is working fine i have one problem. when i take stills and insert the memory card in my pc i can access the photos with no problem but when i take movies and i try to acces them through my pc the files come in a funny format which i cant play back i can only play it back on my ps3 but my pc does not recoignize them can u please hlep me?

The files are in AVCHD format. Software is normally supplied with the camera to view and edit them - if your camera is missing all these things it was probably stolen.

You'll have to buy some software that supports AVCHD. Or buy a Mac. Or buy a non-stolen version of the camera that comes with all the accessories.

hi mwongozi excellent video firstly. i have a few questions if you can help me with please.

i just bought one of these of ebay for £206 which is brand new but does not come with nay wires, paper work memory card etc its just the camera on its own. i see in ur vid it comes with alot of stuff can u tell me what are the essential stuff?

do i need a docking station or can i just use a normal charger to charge the camera? can i download all software from sony? please let me know wat i need

Well you'll need a charger, a battery, and either the dock, a dock replacement cable, or a memory stick reader.

I don't know if the software is downloadable - I use a Mac and the included software is Windows only. If you have a Mac, you can use iMovie or Final Cut.

tnx for reply mwongozi what is the exact purpose of the docking station if i bought a charger and i have a memmory card reader built in my computer would i still need the dock whats the exact purpose of the docking station?

lastly please can you tell me how good is the still shots on this camera i know its 4meg pix but how good do the pictures come out are they decent enough?

The docking station has both power and USB connections. You can connect the power without it, but you'll need the special USB cable - or a card reader - if you don't have the dock.

The stills are OK but a little disappointing. Not as good as a normal still camera.

No different style I guess, I'll keep my HG3 for now, also got the older DV tape version from sony - HC3 - that has nighshot which works quite well

Hmm so are you pleased with it ?! The new panasonic SD9 with 1080p looks a better bet now and cheaper !

They're not really comparable. The SD9 is huge.

But yes, I'm happy with it. My only criticisms are only average low-light performance, and no nightshot mode.
