  • Didn't know Bacharach wrote this. I had to grow up to find out all the amazing collaboration between black artists and white (often Jewish) writers in early rock and roll to produce this magic.

  • Love...love...love..

  • I always thought it ironic that both CJ's hits had the titles lifted for other artitsts' songs in later years- Any Day Now & I Don't Want to Cry.

  • NOW THAT'S SOUL!!!!!

  • little wayne? pleaz dear sir? not even close. this man had pipes. 10-4 ...over and out

  • Any day now, I will hear you say...goodbye my love. Saw him do this when I was in High School. He performed at the old Regal in Chicago. My goodness, this man was and is sooooo fine. Smooth as silk. Sing it baby, sing it.

  • One of the GREATEST SONGS EVER SUNG.. just like HEY, GIRL! by Freddie Scott.... Oldies but DEFINITELY GOODIES! Keep it up NYSEAMEX... Don't let NOBODY discourage you!!!!!!

  • typical cats!

  • @littlenaitch2 and @MrJanesaddiction.

The both of you should grow up, fast. At least lingual, using cusswords all over the place. Nice way to show appreciation to a great song, by a great artist.

turning what should be a comment on the music's section into an e-penis measurement contest. Grow up or refrain from commenting please.

  • Never heard of him, what a shame, missed out again, love it.

  • right on folks about Burt-this even reminds of some of his work with the Shirelles

  • This guy taught Tom Jones how to sing soul. Who got more famous?

  • Damn this was REAL soul music !

  • @MrJanesaddiction Hey look, SCREW YOU, LOSER!!!!!

  • @littlenaitch2 YO MAMA!!!!!

  • @MrJanesaddiction My bad, JERK!!

  • @MrJanesaddiction Another comment from another idiot who doesn't know good music when they hear it. That song is a bona fide classic from one of the greatest R&B artists of all time.

  • Chuck who? hey-this guy is good.....good song..... good voice....I predict this will make it to the top of the charts and the artist will become famous.

  • Just listen to Elvis' version...

  • a favorite karaoke of mine, except i use the back up music from ronnie milsap but sing it chuckish style!

  • Chuck was a Del-Viking at one time.

  • nyseamex- Thanks for the real music. I am so sick of what passes for music today, I'm ashamed for them.

  • Tommy Hunt recordered"Human" as far as i know

  • great haven't heard this in ages

  • GREAT!

  • brother could absolutely sing his ass off.

  • Keep doing what U R doing. I read a lot of the comments looking for dates. Could u put some dates n once n a while? I am a nostalgia person probably no different than others. I always going down memory lane to escape this madness.

  • genial my friend

  • Ah man!!! Thanks for the memories! I was in love with this man. I was all of maybe 12 or 13 years old. One day I heard he was on American Bandstand and I ran in the house, falling up the stairs to see him. Do you remember how girls used to scream for the Beatles? Well this was the first and only artist I did that for. I also cried as I watched him sing! Come on now, when he says "Holding you this way..." Whew... Thanks again!

  • wonderful

  • Classic soul, this is music of substance, when you could understand the lyrics and enjoy the entire performance. Wish there was music still being produced like this. Thanx for the post.

  • I used to go to a theatre in Brooklyn, NY to see this man sing! Remember New Yorkers the Fox Theatre? The Breevort on Bedford Ave., Brooklyn, NY??

  • Fabulous record, real soul but written by that song writing genius Burt Bacharach, the only white soul songwriter I know. The backing is typical Burt Bacharach, totally brilliant.

  • I enjoyed this too. Thank you for sharing this with me.

  • @luvureally I'm afraid I've never heard of Bert Berns and in your list of songs apart from Twist and Shout which of course the Beatles made their own I'm not sure I know any of the others.. It's just that Burt was a major songwriter in several genres.

  • @MANFROMMARS46 I was just responding to your statement about not knowing of any white soul songwriters and giving an example of a white soul songwriter. Those songs are classics in the soul music canon and are revered by fans of genuine soul music. Now about Beatles making "Twist & Shout" their own, that is debatable.

  • @luvureally well I think the Beatles version is by far the best known. On their first album there are a few soul songs they nicked from black soul singers including Baby It's You yet another great soul song from our Burtie.

  • @MANFROMMARS46 It is the most famous version, but is an almost exact cover of the Isley cover. Bacharach great composer, but people always seem to forget about Hal David who contributed those great lyrics.

  • @luvureally I agree Hal David made a monumental contribution.

  • @luvureally I think Tommy Hunt is the original and the backing is exactly the same but lyrics different... its called The Lover and is.... ooooh well I have to say i think its better than Chuck but that's like saying 1 million and one pounds is better than one million pounds......

  • @MANFROMMARS46 what about Teddy Randazzoo with Little Anthony?

  • @MANFROMMARS46

ITA, this song is off the change

    Later

  • @annes1019 Sorry I don't understand this.

  • @MANFROMMARS46 Check out Carol King, Mike Stoller and of course the flawed genius Phil Spector.

  • a group called Typical Cats sampled this song in their song called "Any Day". It's a hip hop song, but different strokes for different folks i suppose

  • @yungthuggydoe I'm glad I never heard it, I hate flip flop. They must have ruined this song. This is a great soul song not a chip shop song if you can call slip slop songs. Shit doggerel is more appropriate.

  • HAHA....of COURSE u had this :D:D

  • HAHAHA!!! u already know me...if its a song out there I gotta have it :P what sucks though is I have so much music and they get removed because of copyright stuff

  • beautiful song, very talented man and he's still got that wonderful voice.I hear he's a real person too.

  • Haven't heard this in a long time. Boy, the memories dancing the cha cha...

  • Reminds me of my parents. The memories are wonderful
