  • Being handed the control of a F-16 would've given me the biggest chubby I've ever had in my life...haha!!

  • wow i know basically everything about these jets except how you can fly it from the back seat...i honestly had no idea

  • Great video. Love the sound you of really having to work hard, and your instructor caually pointing out the shadow on the clouds! Loved it. Thank you.

  • Lucky guy...reckon you deserved it though. And if I got the stick to an F-16 like that I'd cry like a btch.

  • loved the way your breathing sped up when he said 'cleared for take off' haha

  • HEY THE THROTTLES ON THE LEFT!!!

  • I love hearing radio talk but it was a B*tch trying to learn it though. When you;re new at it, its frickin hard to understand because everybody seems to be speaking at the spead of light. Daytona beach ATC are some of the illtempered ppl on the planet lol But back to the video: Dis guy is a frickin lucky SOB lol

  • you are soo lucky and 15th is my birthday date

  • Read in your intro that you always wanted to fly in an f-16. Ever played Falcon 4 Allied Force? You would probably love it.

  • @tanit should try DCS series or FSX F16

  • What means number over NAV on the HUD??

  • Ahahahah the Rosie O'Donnell part just made my day. I laughed so hard. :D

    Awesome ride man!!

  • just signed up for the Canadian air force last week. cant wait

  • @TheSmileyPeteShow Good Luck and if you get on F-18s Tell them we recovered the CAP-9 "AIM-9 Simulator" they dropped in the gulf! LOL

  • @TheSmileyPeteShow The RCAF doesnt exist anymore. Did you mean the Canadian forces?

  • @aflack Great flight! And good for you! No doubt a well-earned reward for a lot of hard work and great service to the greatest nation on earth. Thank you for what you do.

  • @aflack Great flight! And good for you! No doubt a well-earned reward for a lot of hard work and great service to the greatest nation on earth. Thank you for what you do.

  • Oh... I would literally cut myself in pieces to get on your place and feel the gravity times nine aflack! Love 16s. Great music choice.

  • @spookyNorbert lol i know right, best music in jet videos is NO music but jet noise and radio talk. I LOVE IT.!!!!!

  • This makes me so jealous! I knew I should have gone air force or navy... but then again, being a grunt has its fun!

  • @TunedPortZ28 Nothing but Respect to ya! The most rewarding time in my career "other than this" was in Iraq when an army unit came by to thank us for saving their ass when they were being ambushed!

  • How were you aloud to fly this fighter? Did you have any experience with any other type of aircraft? What kind of training did you have to complete before flying in the viper?

  • Comment removed

  • @WildBillHabiki That massive change in altitude you noted was editing. We spent the next 10 mins or so just climbing and flying straight and level out to the Military Training Area IE Warning Area 147D. So in the interist of keeping the video down to about an hour I cut out alot of boring parts! Did you really want to watch me sit at the end of the runway for 7 mins waiting for a helicopter to get out of the way???

  • @aflack lol dont pay that guy no attention. Lol but im supa jealous right now.lol I would walk naked at the superbowl if i was allowed to fly in one of these. Sweet mercy.lol

  • what is that extra altitude box (showing 1000 ft above the regular altitude indicator) with the R to the left of it?

  • @Nastafar Radar Altitude, doesnt have to be corrected for air pressure. It is the altitude above ground level.

  • thanks to you now I know. appreciate it. you are a lucky man.

  • aflack thanks for replying to my comment on how that F16 accelerates.

I have a book that details fighter aircraft from 1914 to the present day and for the F16 it lists the plane as having a maximum speed of more than 2125 km/h (1320 mph), combat radius of 547 kilometres (340 miles) and a service ceiling of 15,240 metres (50,000 feet).

So that is one agile, powerful and maneuverable fighter aircraft.

  • That F16 accelerates off the runway like nothing I have ever seen.

I mean in several seconds you are at 200 mph then airborne at 250 mph and climbing and accelerating rapidly away.

  • @JasonB1969 Also keep in mind that the speeds displayed are in knots not miles per hour. 200 knots = 230.15 mph 250 knots = 287.69

    500 miles per hour = 434 knots!

This is why after experiencing this fast cars dont impress me at all!

  • whats the name of the first song on part 2?

  • @1530NAT Darlington First Victory Soundtrack from the 80's movie Days of Thunder.

  • THESE 3 PARTS OF DEREKS DREAM RIDE WAS AWESOME...... GOOD JOB. GREAT VIDEO.. THANK YOU FOR SHAREING IT,,,

  • That's pretty awesome AFLACK I'm jealous!

  • How Many G's Were There?

  • I had a lump in my throat and a tear in my eye watching this.. you lucky f****r!!!!!

  • Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with that great pilot "Viper" and amazing fighter F16 Falcon.

An image is worth than thousand words.

    You´re a luck guy !

    Thanks a lot.

  • I agree, thanks a lot, good to see that one of us can see this dream become true.

    Good hunting!

  • y did u get 2 go on the ride

  • reward for three OIF deployments, several outstanding performance medals and most importantly for re-enlistment.

  • I'm set for an F-16 incentive in 2 weeks... what's your best advice?

  • Eat Bananas! They taste the same going up as they do going down!

LOL I really dont know that because I am an experienced pilot so the assult on my senses didnt overwhelm me too much.

My only regret is that I spent too much time documenting it and not enough enjoying it by actually getting on the stick!

You will be surprised at how little you move the stick and until you get used to it you will massively overcorrect. Hince my bouncing when I was flying!

  • wait correct me if im wrong , but did he /you get a go on the stick for a little while???? omg im so jealous like you dont even know!! lol but you deserved it , wow im still in wow mode. because i heard him say "you dont have to put much on this thing" like he was flying it for a minute , soooooo lucky!!!

  • He let me fly for quite a little bit, you can hear a solid hand off of control and also you can tell becuase his flying is alot smoother! HAHAHA

  • ya i watched all of the 3 videos and i saw and heard that u was flyin some more, lol thats so freakin cool man.......i also heard him say a few times "so do you want to take over" or something of that nature and u refused???? DUDE!, i woulda told him "alright just sit back and relax i got the stick for the rest of the flight " lmao. but i cant imagine how them G'S made you feel so maybe i wouldnt have lol

  • As much as I was enjoying it I was so focused on documenting every second of it because it was a once in a lifetime opportunity! Would I have loved to have flown the whole time HELL YES however I wouldnt have this video to share with you!

  • i totally 100% understand that lol. man i love this video because you can hear everything that was said and every little grunt you made, it made it feel like POV , like im experiencing it with u, even tho i couldnt feel the G's your expression made it a little more understandable, i always wanted 2 b officer but my eyesight cut that dream short, i even had eye surgery and that still didnt help, so im happy for you that u got this opportunity, thanks for uploading this, best vid on youtube no BS!

  • So lucky man, Hope you had the time of your life

  • hey man i bet u had a blast on that ride. Im in the air force too and would take an incentive ride on a 16 or even a 15.

  • this is a pretty cool expierence. i hope to fly an f/a-18 for when i go into the raaf.

  • This was awesome! Thanks!!!

  • Thank you for your service to our country. I too had a life long dream of becoming a fighter pilot in the USAF. Unfortunately I did not have the required eyesight. However I am in the process of becoming a CFI. Civilian flying is still something I love. General Aviation at this present moment needs all the help it can get. Please, all who love the glory of flight, support GA. Thanks again for your videos! And as the old saying states, "Nothing can stop the United States Air Force"

  • what i wanna no is how u came to get a ride on the F-16?

  • When the opportunity came up our MG commander reserved 20 slots for enlisted mechanics I was one of the lucky ones who was nominated based on performance over the 6 years prior.

  • Congratulations mate, im sure it was an unforgettable experiance. All the best Michael from Australia.

  • It was the experience of a lifetime and thank you for watching. Keep those F-111's down in aussie land flying! A classic bird our country decided to retire long before it was due!

  • Man that is freakin awesome! I would pay so much money to be in your position but you earned it. I'm hoping one day I may be behind the controls of one of those bad boys. Thanks for your service man.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Do pilots get used to the High G Turns? I hear the pilot almost talking normally when you were panting a bit. They get used to it? You're a pilot right.

Awesome Video by the way. =P

  • Years of training causes them to overcome those forces and get used to them. I am a pilot but you never get anywhere near those g-forces in a cessna or even on commercial aircraft.

  • That's what I thought. True. Hey that is awesome that you're a pilot. Great channel and videos. =)

  • Awesome on the G-turn.

  • dude u are seriosly breathing way too hard.

  • I have the old style mask. They have since replaced them with new style that doesnt have that problem.

  • Was the mask providing pressure or was in on demand. I know how hard it is to talk against a pressure breathing mask. It sucks.

  • It was on demand, the reason you hear me breating so hard is because of the old style design.

  • you are one lucky guy..!!!

  • NICE!!!! Great set of vids you got there. And cheers for the 8.9 G turn. That was nice. F-16s are great.

  • Thank you very much!

  • The guy is having an orgasm the whole ride !!! That was funny!

I'm sure i would be too if i would be in his place !!!

    Nice Vid

  • LOL Yes I was! It was a life long dream accomplished and I enjoyed every minute of it! The pilot gave me the call sign DARTH VADER afterwards becuase my breathing was so hard.

  • the videos are awesome!how you join the flight, are you a pilot being trained?

  • It was a reward for years of service.

  • Shame they didnt allow him unlimted departure, you would have cum your load on that ;) superb videos my firend, you are so lucky...now to watch No.3. 5* buddy wicked

  • never mind i found it,lol.

  • coolest video ive ever seen, nice job. do u have the 3rd part? i should've gone to the air force. i always thought that it might be cool to be a fighter pilot.

  • the videos are outstanding,congratulations!

  • Thank you very much sir!

  • I noticed in the previous video you mentioned the 147th fighter wing. Is that out of Ellington Field, by chance?

  • It was but in april 2008 they officially disbanded and converted to the 147th Recon Wing.

  • I know, I live in Houston myself. I'm gonna miss seeing the way the 147th used to open Wings Over Houston, for sure.

  • Great video

  • ATC cleared you from 13,000-18,000 but I saw that you descended below 11,000 several times.

  • FL13-15 on the way out to the Warning Area 147D Once in the area we had 5,000 to 18,000. We even broke that on one occassion!

  • This has got to be the coolest video I've seen. It's been my dream to fly/ride in any jet, really. I can't have that, tho because I don't have 20/20 vision and can't afford Lasik. It's a sad thing for me, but I'm so happy i got to see your video. Thanks for putting this up on youtube.

  • Thank you very much. I too couldnt become a pilot in the military for the same reasons. However you can still be a private pilot!!!! So dont think you cant achieve your dreams!

  • So an F-16 ride is a reward but an f16 pilot won't ask for an incentive ride on a Humvee?? No wonder ground forces crack so many jokes about these guys lol. But all jokes aside max respect

  • You flying with 147th from Houston Ellington. Thats near me. AWESOME. That wing is not there no more. as of 2008

  • your right it was a sad day when I had to transition to another wing! Between my father and I we had over forty years invested in this place! However we arent all gone ALERT IS STILL here courtsey of the Tulsa Air National Guard!

  • YOU ARE MY HERO :D

  • you are sooo lucky!!!! i was in the navy for 4 years and never got to go on an incentive ride. good job.

  • just....

    freaking....

    awesome!

  • your pilot sounds all bad ass on the radio calls, love hearing vipers on the scaner, nothing like it.

  • Am happy for yo man and thanks for posting this here you did what you ever wanted to they call it the taste of victory of a dream and a thing you been lookin at 4 along time

    never giveup

  • Thank you it very much was a dream come true!

  • AWESOME....good for you man

  • Hey aflack!

Nice job on the videos. I flew F-16s at Kunsan and Spang back in the 90s, and I always volunteered to fly incentive rides sure as hell deserved them, and the mission was to jusy enjoy the sheer thrill of flying. Sounds like your pilot gave you a good ride.

I haven't flown now in, OMG, 16 years, but your videos took me back in time there for awhile, thanks a lot.

Stay safe! Thanks for serving, man--I wish I was still out there doing it.

    Kevin (Badge)

  • Thank you very much for your service to your country, and to your fellow enlisted by volunteering to give them incentive rides! Those rides do so much for morale!

  • Very cool vids! I still remember my first ride like it was yesterday! Got to sit in the back seat on our way to Ramstein to have my jet painted. Best flight I've had!

  • what did you do to get your incentive ride?? im so jelous! im a weapons guy at Hill AFB and ive been dying to get a ride.

  • LUCK PURE LUCK! Thats it really, yeah I could throw out three combat deployments helped too but 75% of it was pure luck! We didnt ever have a D model we had to borrow it from other units!

  • awesome Aflack! Nice view of the Bay there too. I used to live out near Bolivar and see those vipers head out to sea to play.

  • Its too bad you wont see them anymore! Thank you very much Rumsfield and BRAC!!!!!!

  • wow...thanks for sharing this...I have to smile every Time I watch that Movies...Man I think you felt like a litte Boy in front of a Giant Christmas Tree ;o)

  • I still watch this like crazy becuase it was the time of my life! I wouldnt believe it actually happened if I didnt have this becuase it felt like a dream!

  • "here comes the afterburner.... BAABOOOM !!" LMFAO

  • lol yup thats exactly what it felt like! It felt like someone came up behind us and kicked us in the ass except I didnt fall to the ground, I just made sounds like I just had an orgasm! LOL

  • I heard that man... i was thinking shit did you mix a pr0n sfx in there too LOL

  • lol my girlfriend was jealous! HAHAHAHA

  • Well hell she needs to understand that this is a bit more exciting lol, damn don't tell her that though.

  • Great feeling, isn't it? I got a ride in June 84 in the former W. Germany. Did a vertical take-off out of a German base, aerobatics & 9Gs near Ramstein. Awesome. High speed low level to near Cochem on the Mosel, went up the river to the Rhine then down over Bitburg where we went DACT with two F-15s and got our asses kicked on the way. Got a certificate I'll cherish for the rest of my life. Flew in tail number 82-1031 with the 496th. ur video takes me back. Loved being a crew chief.

  • lol If I would have puked in the jet the Crew Chief would have kicked my ass and then made me clean it up!

  • We were TDY to Incirlik and they let some local Wing weenie fly. The pilot recommended taking an air sickness back, which he refused. They taxied and took off. 20 minutes later they IFE in and the pilot opens the canopy. Mr. Incentive ride had a glove full of puke, was wearing it down the front of him and they wound up throwing away the oxygen mask. He got out and started walking away until my bud and I handed him a bottle of windex and a box of kimwipes.

  • Later that day when Turkey got really hot, we had a crew show and strapped them in. They closed the canopy and started the engine. Nobody said anything until after the air conditioning kicked in and even with oxygen masks, the guy in the back wanted to know what died, afterwhich they ground aborted expecting that they'd probably get sick, too because of the stench. Yes - you puke, you clean it up. The practice is still alive - amen to that.

  • LOL I had my bags 3 OF THEM right there under my g-suit with quick easy access JUST IN CASE!

  • Who flew your i-Ride?

Oh... Dude, your callsign is soooo "Vader" I never heard anyone breathe that heavy on an i-ride in my life!!

Kudos on putting together a great video!

  • LOL Your not the only one who has said that! Thanks

  • I like his comment on having to prep for landing soon after he's leveled. Fast!

  • 8.9G great job man.

  • Thank you very much I did impress myself. Quick learning experience after almost passing out at 6g's!

  • lol you flying the 16 was funny...

  • Hey leave me alone I actually got on the stick unlike most who take a ride! I wasnt afraid to put it through some motions!

I got better the more I got on it! Just simply lack of experience! The non-moving pressure stick threw me off! Too much time on the sims and not in the real thing!

Also not having a hud in the back seat kind of sucked!

  • absolutely amazing. i couldnt stop smiling. im extremely jealous. i'd love to get an incentive but i havent been in long enough so it prolly wont happen for a while.

    Kudos on a cool video

ps. 9 g's?! I wanna do that! lol

  • Give it time do your best and sooner or later people will recognize and reward you!

  • wow you were struglin with 4g's u did good in the 8 one but remember to keep your breath up other then that good work

  • yeah my first g turn was preety pathetic because it was my first time. After that I knew to brace myself everytime I knew a turn was coming!

  • what do you do in the backseat??

  • enjoy the ride and fly when the pilot allows me to do! This aircraft is a trainer for new f-16 pilots, since this is an incentive ride its all about rewarding faithful service!

  • how can i get to do this

it would jiz my self... i would be so fucking happy

  • Sign up, Serve Seven grueling years including three deployments to Iraq, and then you might be so lucky.

  • i give you my 5 stars

  • wow! i cant believe he let you fly it!...

    so lucky!!!

  • Super cheeze, D! Loved it ya wingnut. Made me smile the entire ride, especially since you sounded like an old granny on O2 with a Percocet drip. "E" ticket ride...Congrats.

  • takes my breath away!!! this is truly america's finest doing what they do, and i'm thankful. glad that you got to participate in this, derek! you have worked with this aircraft so much, now to be able to be in the air with it does indeed bring a smile to my face.
