Crane games are rigged. Every 60 plays or so the "claw" will close fully allowing an easy(er) grab.

The command grab of that crane is pretty weak.

These machines are rigged to pay out every certain amount of games somewhere around 500 or so. The "grip pressure" of the claw can be set to whatever amount usually 10%-15% then the play that is set to win is around 80%. So you still have to set the claw over the item you want correctly to win. I was an arcade technician.
