@Lashid4u - Those two men were living in mansions while the girls took the bus to rehearsals. It was Sylvia Rhone who masterminded everything fans love about these girls. Sadly they couldn't fight for themselves in this unforgiving industry.
@PieceBeStill I didn't know about how the guys treated the females, but honestly, I preferred EnVogue's first album, although I like just about all of their songs/music, etc. ...Their image has, pretty much, been the same - just a lil' more "diva-ish" in the 2nd album
@Lashid4u I love their song DON'T LET GO ( LOVE )! As for as female groups with the combination of SANGING and LOOKS that win hands down. Destiny's Child debut worked because they HARMONIZED WELL, GOOD SONGS, and GOOD LOOKS REPRESENTING THE FULL SPECTRUM OF BLACK BEAUTY FROM CARAMEL -- BEYONCE TO CHOCOLATE--KELLY ROWLAND!
I co-wrote the song Free Your Mind with Michael Jackson and named the group En Vogue. It was during a time I was writing the song Vogue for Madonna. In the official music video, the "primate" is for my sweet Bubbles which MJ would bring for me to play with, Tiger was the nickname that Michael Hutchence of INXS gave me, the deer for the song "Bambi" by Prince who I started writing songs for in 1983, and the rooster on her head because I wrote the song Rooster performed by Alice in Chains.
I am hoping for the best for EV. Yes, people get older as time marches on, but they still look PHYNE. There is something sexy about a seasoned woman that still has it together. The last time I saw them live, they were awesome! They have great voices, nice harmonies and a one of a kind blend! I have to admit that I also like Rhona's voice and the CD they put out with her. I never got a chance to really see or hear too much w Amanda, but the originals are what's up!
En Vogue will always be remembered for their greatness, but i TRULY believe that EV did not get their shine the way they should've... its a shame things went the way they did with them, but w/e they put out great music
Well I don't care about all the mess/HE said, SHE said drama. They need to just find another avenue & get back out there & give us some more music & albums. EnVogue you guys were strong, beautiful, & talented as a team. & together you guys were moving mountains. Just pray about it & GOD WILL MAKE A WAY OUTTA NO WAY.
Not too long ago I listened to an interview where Dawn is really explicit about what happened to En Vogue behind-the-scenes: Sylvia Rhone and the other girls sure fucked up. Sylvia was only there for the money and the other girls weren't backing Dawn has they were supossed to, that's why the group as hit rock bottom for so many years now. These beautiful and extremely talented ladies weren't making the money they deserved and Dawn was the only one to defend the group.
When is this album gonna come out? Theres been no mention on it since May on facebook etc...what up with Ruff Town..is it so hard to promote the group with updates on social media? Damn...hope it gets done
man from wat it sounds lik...this women umm wats her name...cilviya rone broke up the group ,,,tlkin bout she gne hve problems wit dawn...i outa shoot her in her neck ...HELL IS RONG WIT U
I hope my girls be able to straighten their business out soon so we can get a album and a reality show from the original 4 next time. I love all 4 of yall!!!
That is why you never sign with a major record label for them to be your management. The record label doesn't have your best interest at heart. They are only looking after themselves. Not only will they receive the majority of the proceeds of the cd sales, but they will also be in control of proceeds from tours, promotional packages and other marketing deals. They'll take the largest percentage, leaving you with only pennies. Always seek outside management and a lawyer to look after you.
Oh wow. I didn't know Terri did that to the group. I mean, releasing a solo album. Wow. That's pretty intense stuff when En Vogue was such a strong group. People usually think it's Dawn's fault that it all fell apart. Damn shame. But they're back together and touring. <3
@cooolness3 Um, Terry didn't do anything to anyone. Sylvia Rhone was the one who wouldn't let Dawn have her solo deal after Terry relased her album. Sylvia purposely tried to pit the girls against each other. She tried to make Dawn and Terry hate each other, and they were the two closest to each other. The group was really like sisters even though they didn't grow up together, unlike most other groups like En Vogue who are just put together.
@songbird2875 - Nope, the ball's already been dropped. Dawn still thinks there's such a thing as easy money in the music business. Don't expect them to accomplish anything further than performing at a hillbilly concert. They aren't giving fans a reason to hold on.
@kprodigy11 No, Dawn isn't the baby of the group. She, like so many other female performers, lied about her true age. Dawn was born in 1965 not 1969 as stated in some articles. She's a year older than Terri and Terri is truly the youngest, but she doesn't boast about it.
I think even if this is not a spin-off reality show or anything of that nature they could still get a film crew ETC and make a DVD and release it or do a Documentary via Youtube like part 1 part 2 etc.
dawn is bad as shit. daaaaamn.
