@XDm45carrier I said what's the point so the 2nd amendment has nothing to do with my question, just because you are allowed to do something doesn't mean you should. I'm not Liberal either as I'm British. I just think it's hilarious that there's people like you that think carrying a gun will save your life.
@harvester145 I guess you're British and you don't have a choice whether you want to carry a gun or not; The choice has been made for you. I'll take Castle doctrine over gypsy squatters, thank you.
@DelightfulMrHorse You're such a fool. You should probably read up on British law, I was lucky enough to be born in a country where the literacy rate is greater than the average shoe size. So I know that a gun will not save your life, it actually just creates a vicious circle. Also I don't think you have ever been under siege by gypsys. You're welcome.
@harvester145 I stated it's illegal for private citizens to own and use firearms for their own defense in Britain, which is true. Sounds like you're jealous of our ability to own firearms. Go play with your airsoft guns, you can always pretend.
@DelightfulMrHorse Jealous... yeah of course. You can carry a firearm in the UK if you have a specific licence, people get them for different reasons i.e. security firms, reason being deterrent or farmers for shooting pheasants. This is in place to minimise weapons on the street. If someone was carrying a firearm it will cause more harm than good, imagine someone starts a fight with you so instinctively you pull out your weapon.
@harvester145 The example in this country is knife crime, which is getting worse because people feel the need to carry a knife to protect themselves against the people carrying knifes therefore more people are carrying knifes giving them the ability to end another's life... there we have a vicious circle.
@harvester145 One difference is it's illegal to carry knives to defend yourself, where in the US, it is not (in most situations). As far as citizens in the UK owning centerfire pistols (not counting businesses or police), that's impossible after the gun laws implemented after the Dunblane massacre. The whole mindset is different, in the US, we're allowed to legally defend ourselves, in Britain, you are basically stripped of all means to do so *legally*.
@harvester145 Now are there are a lot of stupid youtube Rambos out there, but statistics (damn lies, I know), generally support the notion that concealed carry permit holders are among the most law abiding citizens out there. I'd assume 99% of people who own and carry guns will never need to use them, but it's like a fire extinguisher or air bags in your car, something for an emergency.
@harvester145 First, citizens carrying knives as weapons in the UK are breaking the law. Criminals in the US have guns, knives, etc. They won't suddenly stop carrying arms if it's suddenly made illegal, since... they're criminals. Carry laws exist so citizens can have a means to legally defend themselves using deadly force, against deadly force. They are not a license to kill or threaten people with guns. You could say, no guns, no gun crime... but drugs are illegal too, and they're everywhere.
@harvester145 What 'vicious circle' is there from law abiding citizens owning firearms? C'mon now. The great majority of American citizens don't carry guns, however, the knowledge that there exists a minority of people who are packing heat is a deterrent to criminal action against the majority. The laws don't suddenly bless private citizens with the ability to intervene in violence, your ass will get hauled off to jail if you shoot someone outside of what can reasonably be called self defense...
@DelightfulMrHorse I understand exactly what you're saying I mean I'm not anti guns, I mean I'm joing the Army and shooting is a hobby of mine, but I honestly don't think a firearm will save your life. But I guess what you're saying makes a lot more sense that what I was babbling on about on a more moral basis. It was good though that you made valid points I'm sick of YouTubers that just tell you to fuck off.
@harvester145 I agree in so far as a handgun isn't a magical medallion which protects you from harm. You need a defensive mindset, situational awareness, and wisdom enough to avoid trouble. If you don't want trouble, avoiding it starts a lot earlier than choosing to carry a gun.
Good video man, good advice too, sometimes it's more important to be fully prepared to an "unwanted" event than looking good, btw, how do you carry your gun while driving? let's say a glock 19 for example, thanks in advance
@HorrorNights1 when I'm driving the gun goes in the center console. If I left it holstered I might not be able to get it out quick in the event something happened because of the seatbelt
@krazyk86cu That's exactly what I thought I would do too, but on the other hand, I think, what if the bad guy points a gun at me and forces me to get off the car? isnt my gun meant to be on me, so if I have to get off the car I could still have a chance if I wait for the right moment to react? That will be my biggest doubt I'll have when I have to go ouyt with my car and gun
@sirmasterpimp the 23 is actually a compact Glock. Though the 22 would work with this setup too. Sitting down isn't bad at all, unless your in a car with high bolsters on the sides of the seats.
How do you carry in the summer time, without a jacket, say 80 degree days and sunny??
