I do not like extremists of any stripe, left or right wing. But, I have seen more exremism from the current administation, especially in regards to fear mongering. Claiming our returning vets are potential home grown terrorists. I am a vet and I swore to uphold and defend our Constitution. I also looked up the Constitution to see just what I swore an oath to defend. Since I have never been released from this, I still defend it at the jury box and the ballot box. So why do they fear us so much?

Yeah, I've gotta say, the report was a little out of left field when it came out; but the report was simply an ADVISORY that was supposed to raise people's awareness about conserv. extremism. There are parts / groups of america much more passionate about cons. beliefs, but it's far less than half the populace.

Ppl have died for no reason...I dunno if justified is the right word, but the report is definitely vindicated at this point. DHS has some cred now in my book, my eyes are a bit more open

Well, seeing how Islamic extremism has been on our radar for about 7 years now, I hope one can see how a special DHS report isn't exactly merited (tell me who ISN'T worried about islamic extremism these days). --- Also, pretty sure the guy was conservative (hence, right-wing) islam.

Second, I'd hope that about 10 acts of violent domestic terrorism would prove that DHS memo to be more of an "advisory" than a "smear." My question is, why are these FEW conserv's flipping out and killing ppl? Why??

The fact of the matter is, that report was way to generalized and called out anybody who opposed wasteful government spending, abortion, and illegal immigration as a terrorist. If they wanted to make an actual report on extremism, then they would've pointed out specific groups of interest, instead of pointing the finger at all conservatives in general. It's like saying all fruit are bad apples.

Nothing justifies murder; and my point was to suggest politics was actually removed in the analysis of the threat--- yes, ppl have diff. ideas on spending, immigration and that stuff you say-but only a certain sector was deemed to be volatile/unstable enough to actually turn violent, which is what the report was about.

As for the report calling anyone out...again, it was an advisory, not a target list. No phones were tapped, etc. But we're ignoring the fact that IT WAS RIGHT!

People must start understanding that this movement cannot come from the right or the left, it has to come from the values of liberty on which this nation was founded. If this "RightWing Extremism" report only talked about skinheads and actual criminals, I wouldn't have a problem.
