my hair is layered and i have exactly the same rollers ur having in this video so is it possible to have a good looking curly hair for my straight layered hair? i have a styling gel a blow dryer and rollers big to small so i really need to know how to curl my hair for a back to school prom ♥
these ones are pretty cool! you should do a small foam curlers one to look like shirley temple! after showering and rolling them to the scalp gives you the Lollipop Girl look :)
if you have someone help you roll them, the smooth rollers secured by clips are MUCH easier to deal with than the velcro ones & when the hair is dry and the clips are removed, the rollers just slip out of the hair like a dream. happy curling :)
@coralaisly that's the thing, you need help. I like to teach techniques that people can do alone. I'd love to try that myself! I'm sure it's MUCH more fun to share the experience.
@MakeoverSessions I do mine by myself, but it was kind of difficult at first, so I needed someone to help me. but once I got the hang of it, I much prefer the clips to the velcro because the result is smoother, and for some reason, on my hair at least, lasts longer. :)
That's great that you figured out what works for you. I found a couple of times using clips that they put a little dent in my hair where the clip was.
@MakeoverSessions, if you put the clips at the scalp instead of on top, they give more body & don't dent. the single pronged clips are gentler & dent less if you absolutely must secure the outside of the roller ^_^
I/wld/ like to see you in/ tiny lttle perm rods a poodle perm ,rolled up in a tight/set ,how old are yoiu? are you looking for a mate?what you are doing? you are a lady and if you are looking for a mate..I am talking about a serious relationship then write me and.I think you would appreciate that so let me know you can write me at my ym wisdm14 so we can talk private..,.hope to hear from you soon ...if not I wish youhappieness in life...Bobbydan
You can totally use rollers on shorter hair if the top layers are long enough to hold them. I love two kinds of hair spray when I use it. One is the one I use when I want soft hold, it's called JINGLE in big yellow can from my salon. The other kind I use is in a big RED can, from Swarzkopf, it's not the Big Sexy Hair one, but the can looks the same. That hair spray is so amazing you could catch a fly in mid-air. Bzzzzzz. haha.
OMG I don't mean to be rude but that tiny curler (2:45) had me in tears! I totally know how that feels and you were such a lady about it! Now, this is probably a stupid question, are those velcro? I've never used those before. I've only used hot rollers. Are velcro easier/better? Which rollers do you prefer? Thanks!! you're a beauty!
Yes, they are velcro, it hurts me again to watch that, haha. I have another video I can't even post because my hair was so stuck for like 10 minutes. It finally came out, whew. I am loving the velcro rollers. I've been looking for some hot rollers at a thrift store to try them out first, but I haven't found any just yet. I did find an old fashioned dryer though, hehe. Thanks for your comments. XO
WOW, monAymakR! You got a perm? It's been DECADES since I got a perm. Are you happy with the results? I'm glad you find my videos helpful....I'm here for you.
doanne, I loved this vid because it demostrates everything that is wrong with velcro rollers, lol. Yes, your hair turned out lovely as ever, but the fight you had to get those rollers out just loosens any curl you might have had and can make hair frizzy. This is why I don't recommend my clients using them...ever. btw, your Breck Girl vid was great as was your hair... practice makes perfect. Keep on keeping on. hugs, franni
you look really beautiful even with your hair in rollers! i love the finished result and i have to try this because i've been wondering how to volumize and curl like this for a while!
Hi Dianne! Would it offend You, if, I told You I think You are Sooooo Gorgeous, and, I, think You are Prettier with you hair Up in Curlers...??? Hope not, and, either way, You, Are Soooooooo Pretty!!! "Thank You" for Sharing!!!!!
You can see my own surprised reaction to those cahrazy bangs, haha. I used my flat iron to straighten those, I did NOT leave my house for fear I might catch the wind......XO
yum you are so beautiful in your smaller velcro rollers and the finished look is very hot that top volume is so so sweet.although i do have to agree with fran that you should try a hot roller set!the curls and the smooth shine is so great!!and by the way how about a tutorial on putting them in as well as taking them out?thank you dianne you really are so great. LOL XOXOXO
Thanks for your question: Right after I dry it. Sometimes I spray the root part just before I roll it from behind underneath with hair spray for a root boost. Then I spray it all over when finished rolling. Let me know what YOU discover works best for YOU!
Dianne, you do a great job with all your videos, but being a hairdresser I can strongly recommend that you "lose" the velcros. They're ok for body, but you'll never see a decent curl from them. I've stopped using them at work because it causes my clients hair to frizz out and I still don't get the body I wanted. I use hot rollers or if there's time, an old fashioned wet set for the best curls money can buy. Keep up the good work and love your vids. Franni
Thank YOU Franni! I have found that they do take out the frizz for me and give body but don't really give curl. Thank YOU for that. What kind of hot rollers do you recommend?
LOL great video rather yor hair then mine lol i find velcro rollers danage my long hair :( but il try again sometime hehe..
How about Hot Rollers Dianne every tryed them ? there really good and quick put in hot and do the whole head and as you put the last one in go back to the first thats cool and take them out.
great video again dianne keep up the great work your so fab and pretty x
HIya x Hmm well Con-Air in the usa do good ones look at reviews of amazon. Con-air over here i nthe UK are called Babyliss but same company. anyway hoep your well keep up the good your your fab rollmodel x
I would love to see a verticle set with the smaller rollers. Suggestion...try using a thermal spray on each rolled section for firmer curls. Nice Job and you a uber cute.

Only you could make a roller set look so elegant and sensual.

theres an option for on video programs, called double speed, which is something you could do when you're unrolling all the curlers. Just an idea.
mitchkrammeriscute 2 years ago
I just discovered how to do that! Thank you for that. One video I was never able to upload was 17 minutes of me fighting with a curler, hahah.
