Dearest Beanscot, Here I am listening to this incredible song and watching your beautiful video once again. I am sending it to a friend that has Cancer. May the Lord comfort her heart as she watches. Love always ~ YFF~ Melody
Thank you so much for putting up this song, I have to sing this song next thursday and i feel so much better knowing that Jesus is here for me... I've been going to going in the summer and its been tough and no one knows you like Jesus but I'm not gonna let this minor mishaps get me down. Anyway thank you so very much! :)
Dear Beanscot, I just want to thank you again for creating this very beautiful video for this wonderful song. God bless you my dear friend. Love always ~YSIC ~ Melody
(Hebrews 9:14) how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works so that we may serve the living God!
Even though I'm an atheist, I've got a lump in my throat listening to this truly beautiful song. Deborah Liv Johnson (Whoever she is) is a gifted singer.
@TIMOTHYSAARINEN what a pity to hear this... nature is so splendid. the way bees work and make honey thick through the hovering of their wings, and even put a layer of stuff on top so that honey will not go off, and more. and the ants.. and the migration of birds... and .... wish u a happy new year!
@tomangochapati, I'm sorry, but there is simply too much misery and horrible suffering in the world, and always has been, for me to believe that there is an all powerful force of good looking out for us all. I think that all living things are natural and have evolved over the course of 4 billion years, independent of an intelligent, creative, protective force. That's the conclusion I've come to. I may be wrong, but I don't think so. I'm not bad or evil. I just don't believe in God.
@TIMOTHYSAARINEN lol :-) who told you about this 4 billion years. why not 3 billion and 432 millon and 123 thousand and 268??? who counted all those years? yes, suffering is a real problem in this world, but do you think a loving God should come down and stop my mouth when I shout at someone, or stop the 2 couples that go and make sex together so at to look for new excitements? and if one never-ever gets ill, how would we die? as I say, suffering is bad, but we also learn from it. we have to...
My sympathies to you sneem10. I lost my beautiful, handsome son in 2003. I cry, I pray and go about trying to "live". My terms of accepting this tragic loss is knowing I had the blessing of having been the father of this wonderful child for 19 years.
@chaoticcampbell I'm glad you like the song. It's a very old hymn. By the way, there is a God whether you believe in Him or not, and He loves you very much.
Very Beautiful song and video! Our Glee Club teacher taught us this song in High School many years ago. It is always a wonderful promise to hear it again!

I'm so sorry for your terrible loss. You do need Jesus to soothe and comfort your soul. Thanks for sharing your grief. It is a privilege for me to uphold you in prayer.
@sneem10 my condolences to you . . . I think that has to be the most bitterly painful experience. I have 2 children and can't imagine life without them.
@sneem10 I know it's been a while, from the date on your post.. but I just want you to know the love that is embracing you now.. and the tears that are being shed for you... may you know great love in your heart. May the Balm of Gilead mend all your sorrows.
i prefer a version of a mixed choirs, it sounds more beautiful with different voices. i dont like her singing, but i love this song an the video is nice.
I wish you could rephrase this comment in a way that my old brain could understand your meaning. : ) Was it a competition? Did you do well? It's a beautiful hymn, so I suspect you did. Thanks for commenting!
they mean that we sung this song at the maine all-state music festival. It was a very large chorus made up of the best vocalists in the state of Maine. wed did excellent. though the arrangemnt we sung was more up-beat
Wonderful, soothing, healing version of this great old song.
I appreciate the classic Mahalia Jackson version -- but she draws out the tune too much. Your version is pure, patient and -- dare I say -- "pastoral". Very universal and I love your vocal discipline to stay with the tune and not riff about vaingloriously. A true blessing. Thank you so much!!!
we're singing this song in my chorale choir right now!! it's sounds really pretty cause the alto is like split up in 3 sections but anyway thanks for posting it!
