You can change our future with one simple click.

Please thumbs up so other people can see this and check out our channel and comment with feedback if you like, also if you think we could improve.

If you like check the other artists we have over 60 vids up!

  • YO ! New-York city was brought to the U.K ! Come on : that's true, these guys, with their attitudes, their outrageous threads really brought N.Y. to The Tube ... London had always been a "hot" city too, but nothing in comparison with the New-York City in the 1980s (Now, I recognize it's different, cause the Big Apple is no longer the same...)

  • Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five,.Pioneers of the TRUE Rap Form! With messages of Global&political world changes for Hope & a better way. Many of their messages dealt with the negative impact that stemed from experiences&stereotypes imposed on the youth at the time due to the rotting roots of racism,.

As you can see in this video G.M&The Furious Five dealt with these issues by using POSITIVE messages that AVOIDED words of hate&discrimination against THEMSELVES&others+E

  • Great footage, 80's styling at it's best! Cheers for the post.

  • Grandmaster Flash,The Message LIVE 1983 !Celebrate Black History Month! | Lord Buck Entertainment

  • HIP HOP

    HIP HOP

    HIP HOP

  • missed this performance. mustve been watching different strokes. who you talkin to willis?

  • You can clearly see that once big money and corporations got involved in choosing which acts got financed, they subverted the global message of 'unity, no violence and no wars' into a pathological, homicidal audio assault on our communities. Independent rap has always been the most fertile, check out cats like homeboy sandman for current brain food. Peace, love and thanks forever to the old school pioneers!

  • its good how they dont call each other niggas

  • the 80s where the best times for music and its ashame that our generation is trash compared to back in the day

  • new york old times........

    just madness on way

  • 34 people that never got the message

  • @iam01 ...those people are deaf,dumb & blind...)

  • i c white ppl !

  • holy shit. yup those were the eighties

  • Live you say????? Pros: You can actually hear them clearly and they're puttin on a good stage show. They are positive. Cons: Shame they can't play real instruments because the beat and groove held the song down. I know it's a short cut so they didn't have to learn to play one but that's one reason music died in school. I'm 40+ and this was my s%^ but groups like The Roots are showing ppl that real music by real musicans is the only way it can really be called "live".

  • Sounds better live.

  • good stuff.

  • Just excellent!!!

  • THE BEGINING OF AMERICAN RAP IN 1983 !! WONDERFUL !! I LOVE A LOT !!

  • Tenia un año cuando esto pasó!! (I was 1 year old when this happened)

  • thinked "this" started in 90'ies.......... <3

  • I like how they're talking about peace and not "Poppin' glocks in throats."

  • @obscurebandfan That s because when they made this song the streets of the Bronx were EXTREMELY dangerous (Literally on fire!). These new rappers grow up lower-middle class and choose to sell drugs for street cred. Real Ghetto dudes HATE the ghetto and would never romanticize it! This is the realest rap song ever.

  • Brilliance. Got no right at all to knock these guys.

  • I was born in the wrong era.

  • As a nine year old boy growing up in rural England, I didn't have any experience of drugs, violence or "The Ghetto" but this song spoke to me in a way that nothing else ever has. When I saw this on a Friday teatime with fish fingers and mash on my lap in front of the telly, my life changed ladies and gentlemen. I wanted to move to New York, I wanted to be a rapper, I wanted to be black, I wanted everything. Music power.

  • Beautiful...

  • "It makes me Wonder"

  • this was used in Jubba the Hut in Star Wars....?

  • HERE IN BRAZIL THHIS IS THE ESSENCE....

  • its from grand theft auto xD flashback fm

  • @miniskater1997 no its from gta vice city, wildstyle fm

  • This very strong in Brazil and face the mcs and rappers of the time as a DJ Hum Thaide and parents have taken this Grandmaster Flash ... but the parents of the gang was in fact very heavy in Brazil, (Rationals) can be considered Another big explosion of Grandmaster Flash-style gangster, hardcore, Geez ...

the other guys are Kid Creole, Scorpio & Cowboy

    DJ known as Grandmaster Flash

  • @atosh76

    Thank you.

  • @atosh76 Wow, I always thought the MC was GMF, thanks for the info. This has got to be my fave rap song ever. There's many hip hop artists today I don't like, but when it's old skool, I just can't help but get up and shake what my momma gave me.

  • @bertmustin Melle Mel, Kidd Creole, Cowboy, Mr. Ness/Scorpio, and Rahiem
