  • 0-60 in just a hair over 4 seconds? Sorry man, its a nice car and all, but that thing is not puting down faster 0-60 times than a gt....let alone a gt500.

  • Haha, your V6 is nice but I highly doubt you're going 0-60 in just a hair over 4 sec. I don't understand all the hate for GT's in these comments, all these guys talking about the glory of smoking GT's with their supercharged V6 and acting like the GT is just a ripoff. There's nothing wrong with a V6 if that's what you got, but seriously "dollar for dollar the 4.0 is just as powerful as the 4.6 V8"? Gimme a break. Stupidest thing I ever heard.

  • @corycallawayisHOT Don't laugh too hard. I run 13's with my 4.0L NA. I only have more mods. Alot more. I need to get some new vids.

  • @wolfey2k Yeah those 2011's are weak.

  • lmfao low 4's, and beats new v6's, and same year gt's? hmmm DOUBT IT! i have the same exact car with all the same upgrades (just way better brands) and mine barely beats the new v6's and just stays with the older gts. yeaaaaa stop exaggerating.

  • @corycallawayisHOT Nah... He's only exaggerating about the low 4 second 0-60 lol. I own an 07 V6 and I have the same mods and a little more and the new V6's dont stand a chance.

  • giving a v6 more power like that (with your mods and all), how bad does it effect the MPG?, i just got a 2007 v6 and i want to do something to it lol

  • Unless you have a T/C or S/C putting down about 450 to the wheels, there's know way you're in the low 4's range.

  • there is no way he is even at 5.5

especially with 3.31 gears. probably more at 6

  • My mostly stock 4.0L runs 0-60 in 6.5 to 6.8 with JLT CAI. Sorry but 4's just isn't possible on a non F/I v6 Mustang. Even then the list of mods would be so long, it would be like why didn't you just buy the GT or a GT 500?

  • nice car, its looks really familiar ;)

  • I am not sure this is my first fast car and a few words from some one that might now a little about stangs PLEASE let me know i want to put money at it but dont know where to start. im from saskatchewan and don't know shit about cars. all i know is i want so sup it up.

so PLeas some one get back to me

  • Just get what ever it is the fuck you want for it... Who gives a shit what people think about what you do to your car. It's your life, your money and your way. Fuck society.

  • Is it worth up graging my 07 4.0 v6 mustang. and if so what would be a good thing to start with

  • Comment removed

  • can i upgrade my v6 2007 mustang 4.0

and if so what would be a good start

  • Thanks everybody for the nice comments!

  • Can you tell me what would be a great way to start throwing money at my 2007 v6 4.0 and thats it nothig fanci but i need some info on how to get faster if possable your respons would be great

  • relax. why are you asking the same question like 6 times in different ways. chill out

  • Nice burnout, but I definitely got you beat in a drag race. 0-60 in just over 4 seconds? LMAO!!!

  • Thanks for the complement. Yes it's very nice for a 4.0 N/A. Just the way I want it.

I think you'll be surprised just how little you'll lead me as is car for car. After I throw on a blower or turbo's, you'll be crapping your pants as I walk away from your 4.6 like you're drivin an N/A 4 banger!

  • Mean lil` pony you got there.

  • Thanks! Yep, she'll gitt up and go!

  • nice.

  • Check out the posts where I replied to what you said. If you want proof, go to powerhouse411 [.] com and check out their videos. pretty crazy stuff man. It really is...

  • Proof that low 12s with just a forced induction kit and T-Lok are unachievable. Google 2005 Mustang V6 - supercharged by Vortech - 317 rw - Video

Further proof that $4200 is going to get you into the low 12s. Google explorer express mustang supercharger kit dynochart.

99% of V6 Mustangs are sold to people like me that don't need a fast car or are too cheap to buy a GT.

  • Don't forget there are those of us who don't care for the Ford 4.6 V8. Personally I think it's a big waste of metal. Why they did away with a world class engine like the 5.0 is beyond me! Also the GT's are heavier than the pony's. Pony's look better than GT's too ;p

  • the pony looks like its smiling at you haha... its a happy mustang..

and the 5.0 its coming back

  • wat is the 0-60 time on a 4.0 V6 mustang stock

  • 6.7

  • 4.0 V6 Mustang - 17 grand

    Forced Induction +install - 6 grand

Smoking GT's that cost thousands more - priceless

Dollar for dollar the 4.0 V6 is just as powerful as the 4.6 V8. Picking V6 or V8 is just a personal choice. Performance purists love the 4.0 Cologne engine. Just ask Shelby. CS6 anyone?

  • Gt with 6 grand in to it beating the moron who got a V6 and tryed to make it fast..... PRICELESS!!!!!

  • You obviously don't understand what "dollar for dollar" means.

  • you obviously are a bitch too

  • sorry dude but a v6 mustang is never gonna be as fast as a gt can be..

    dollar for dollar

  • Again, you don't know what "dollar for dollar" means.

A $23,000 V6 mustang will run low 12's easy. 17K for the car, 6K for the turbo kit and t-loc.

You can't even get a GT for 23K, an even if you did, it will run high 13's.

  • very true. The new 4.0 v6 has a lot of potential, especially in the forced induction category. I really can't wait until Ford puts out that twin turbo v6 in 2010 that gets better gas mileage than this 4.0 block. Should be interesting to see what it can do...

  • what i mean is

    if u put 10k into a gt

its going to be way faster than if u put 10k in a v6

  • Then that isn't dollar for dollar, is it? We've established that a GT costs $6500 more than a V6. So putting 10 G's into a GT is $16,500 more than V6.

If you put $16,500 into a V6 (that's what dollar for dollar means!), it will smoke the GT that you put 10K into.

Again, dollar for dollar, the 4.0 wins.

  • that, literally, is the dumbest thing ive ever heard.

  • You didn't hear it, dumbass, you read it. And it's the truth whether you think it's dumb or not.

  • no asshole thats what the fuck you think.

  • No, asshole, that's what he fuck *you* think!

    C wut I did thar??

  • wait?... basically... fuck you?

  • if thats your logic then the gt mustang is better than a ferrari i mean if you spend 200k on the mustang its gonna go faster than the ferrari

theres only so much mods you can do to a v6 not to mention the quality

if you spend 6k on a super charger it gives you 165 more horses.... do the same to a v6 you are lucky if you get 285 of rwhp

you can put the same mods.. but they are not gonna perform the same

    NO REPLACEMENT FOR DISPLACEMENT

  • I'm not comparing a Mustang to a Ferrari; I'm comparing a Mustang to another Mustang. And the displacement difference is tiny.

One Mustang comes from Ford with an Iron Block 4.0

The other comes with an aluminum 4.6

Ford wants $6,500 more for 600cc's? No thanks, that's a waste of money when I can put that $6,500 into a 4.0 and SPANK that 4.6

The only thing a 4.6 has over a 4.0 is sound. Sound isn't worth $6,500.

  • all i was doing was applying you circular logic, unto other cars....

am trading my 4.0 for a crx tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

  • huh... so your saying that with a supercharger... you can beat a shelby gt 500??

    wow

  • I said a 4.6, moron, a Shelby GT500 is a 5.4

But, if you put the same amount of money into a 4.0 that you spend on getting that GT500, then YES, it will spank that Shelby all day long.

Math is not your friend and your worship of "Factory Ford" is pathetic.

BTW, there is a video right on here on Youtube of a 4.0 running 11's so stfu alrady.

  • this last comment was done upon the first comment the video host left...... and am aware theres a lot of cheap cars that can beat the shelby, and yeah i have seeing that video... and am sure he didnt only spend 6k on it lol....

all am seying is that there is a limit the the v6 can achieve... i have not seen a 2000 hp v6 yet.... ive seen many v8's

again let me make it clear... am not arguing that the v6 could be better than the gt, or the roush, or the shelby, or the saleen fot that matter.

  • am not arguing the dollar for dollar crap... cuz again youi can apply that to any car...

all am saying is that the gt has more potential for upgrades than the v6...

and if 600cc of displacement didnt matter, then why did the new M3 comes with a 4.0 v8 now, instead of the previous v6?... cuz it obviously matters

why is the srt a 6.0 instead of the 5.7

why did the new z06 upgraded only 100cc for the new model huh...

    i must be missing something

  • and its funny how am da one with a v6 mustang and your playing starwars in the basement... from where am sitting all you know from cars comes from youtube

  • okay bitch tits

  • Wrong on so many levels.

4.0 V6 for 17 grand? What, used? If used, then yes, you can get a GT for well under 23k and it'll probably still have some of the factory warranty left. I just bought a V6 today, so yeah, I like them a lot, but you're fooling yourself.

  • Let's examine dollar for dollar: First is factory options (per fordvehicles). To buy the same optioned car new in V6 form as a base model Deluxe GT (which has a spoiler, 17" wheels, fog lights, traction control, and ABS standard) you would be looking at the V6 Premium w/ Pony package = $23,420 vs $27,700 for the GT. Difference = $4280. Both the V6 and GT depreciate at about the same rate to that figure's gonna hold pretty constant. That's a bit less than 6 grand, huh?

  • To my knowledge there's not a turbo kit for the V6 (I guess you could piece one together with a lot of work and a little luck) but there is a basic Vortech supercharger kit which starts at around $3500 non-intercooled. Plus installation (and running as good as the car did when it rolled off the assembly line, NOT) and you're right about $4200. Now you're ready to run low 12s, easy, like you said, WRONG!

  • But wait, there's more! You've now lost any part of the 5 year power train warranty you had, you still don't have the Tremac TR3650 trans, the heavier brakes, heavier suspension, beefier driveshaft, and you're puttin the power down with a 7.5" open differential because we didn't have any money left over, did we!

  • Okay. Now I am not trying to make this an argument thread. Just wanted to make a few corrections. You should compare base price to base price here. $19650=v6 base $26240=gt base price for a difference of $6590. Now on to forced induction. There are two turbos for the 4.0L v6. One is made by forced4 and the other by powerhouse turbo. powerhouse sells their top of the line turbo for $4795 and I'll use your $700 for install pricing. Total comes to $5495. Their best time is an 11.8 1/4 mile

  • There are also three superchargers on the market right now for the 4.0L v6. The X-Charger, the Procharger, and the afore mentioned Vortech. You can get a Vortech for $3000 btw. Anyway I'll stick with the more expensive turbo just for money's sake. So, $1100 left after turbo and install. $480 for a shaftmasters aluminum driveshaft, $270 for FR 3.73 gears, and $200 for a T-lok differential comes to $950.

  • So, for the price of a GT I now have a v6 mustang that I can tune down to get 25+ MPG, and yet I can still run 11's at the track. And if I really wanted to save money, I would buy a MUCH cheaper supercharger and do all of the same mods. Although, there is one things I cannot dispute. A v6 mustang will NEVER sound like a V8... those GT's with the right exhaust just sound so MEAN! I only with mine could sound like that...

  • I only **wish** ...

  • if you put that turbo on, your gonna have to do something about the cooling system other wise that "11.8" is gonna be the first and last 1/4 mile

by the way thats faster than the gt500 which is running low 12s

  • which by the way has a 6 speed... and has a bigger supercharger than any of those mentioned above...

oh yeah and it has a 5.4 block.... 11.8 yeah right

  • "4.0 V6 for 17 grand? What, used?"

    What? Can't do math?

    $19,650 base price for a 4.0

    -$1,500 factory rebate for April

    -$589 holdback

-$500 dealer discount (if you can't get the dealer to give you $500 off MSRP +holdback you suck at negotiating)

    Equals - $17,061 for a base model 4.0 Mustang

If you own a non-ford, you get the Conquest bonus, which shaves another $1,00 from that

Basically, the price difference between a base V6 and a base GT is over $6500. You WILL run 12s for $6500

  • u crazy mother fucker

  • You have a nice car there, but be honest man, that car won't pull no 4 second 0-60. I'm sure it's much faster than stock, but think about it this way... If a mustang gt with 300hp can pull a 0-60 in around 5 seconds, how is your car with 210hp plus your mods, which is still probably less than 300hp, supposed to do better? Anyways, you still got a quick car so ya.

  • Plus from the look of the street outside your performing a burnout on wet pavement. Have your custom fuel and timing settings been dyno tested for A/F ratio? Probably not. At least my GT is safe to drive without worrying about nading the engine.

  • Your car has no chance of smokin a GT. I have an 05 GT with the exact same mods you do. And I know mine smokes the tires way easier than that. Keep dreaming man.

  • Nice video! I have the exact same Mustang and I love it!

  • how do you do it? people ask me to do it all the time, i need to know the EXACT thing to do to cause it.

  • that was a sick burnout!

  • that was a sick burnout!

  • love it man! low 5's 0-60? you think so? I have an 05' with cai, mrt exhaust from the headers back, and a sct 93 oct. race tune from bamachips. i don't think im gettin low 5's out of her. I wish I was... hahaha. Yeah, I'm looking at a procharger as well... these 4.0 blocks are incredibly strong! nice ride man!

  • Send us a video the day your motor pukes so we can all laugh at your ignorance. Buy something that can actually handle the HP

The benchmarks on those 4.0 blocks are less than a stock '05 mustang gt

  • really? I know someone running low 11's on a stock block. do some research before you open your mouth.

  • nice sound, what do you think of putting magnaflow dual exhauston on my v6, i have'nt heard it on any v6's. im gonna get diablo predator tuned for 93 octane, k&n cold air intake and the maganaflow exhaust how much hp do you think i will be able to get from them mods alone?

  • Congrats on the 6er! But, I would avoid the magnaflow package setup due to problems that a lot of people have had with fitment. Go to mustangcollective . com for some good advice for the v6. If you go C&L intake with tune, you are looking at 20-25hp gain, with exhaust... don't know... ask online for help. The tunes are great, though!

  • hey bud i decided to go with the magnaflow, wow!! what a difference lol it sound great even my macanic was supriced how good it sounded lol, a couple of gt owners asked me what i had under hood lol i said v6 they said it sounds like v8 lol then they pull away when i tried to play with them lol. im gonna let u guys hear it in a few days and i noticed a little more hp in the mid to high rpm range lol now the cold air intake

  • Alright Scooby, you can cut out the "lol" shit.

  • Nice one Wolfey2k. I have a 2005 V6 myself(CAI, tune, JBA true duals, blower comming soon). Too bad there are too many knuckleheads out there that discount a car based soley on the the fact that it has 6 cylinders instead of 8. I luv seeing the look of surprise in the face of the jackballs when they can't shake me off their ass on the highway!!

  • Send us a video the day your motor pukes so we can all laugh at your ignorance. Buy something that can actually handle the HP v8

  • MY '68 Ford 500 makes 385 HP Bone stock and 435 lb-ft. You certainly won't be shaking ME of YOUR ass

  • sounds like a v8 to me here and Im sure in person it sounds better! bet ya make all those v8 drivers wish they saved and got a v6 lol :D All it takes is some mods and its still cheaper then a GT stock hehe <3 sweet!

  • niiiiice im getting that exact car/color next week but with different rims, i cant effen wait !!

  • damm..., a good video to watch: 05-07 V6 supercharged vs Gt (same years) stock

interesting mods to the V6, good job!

  • MY GOD!! Those 4.0's must be nothing like the older gen. 3.8's. Sounds EXCELLENT. U really think 0-60 is around mid 4's? Wow im impressed.

  • Nah, more like low 5's ;-) That is until I throw on a blower. Then I'll be spankin any stock GT any time I want ;-)

I'd say I can get it into the mid to high 4's then. No problem!

Top end is already 140 N/A but I have a stock drive shaft so I don't do that very often.

She'll be a 160 MPH car after the blower easy!

Of course I'll have a custom drive shaft too and my trusty helmet ;-)

    Thanks for the complement!

  • sounds very well for a v6! good job

  • nice

  • Sounds great! Nice vid.

  • sweet v6, exhaust sounds pretty good too, i was thinking of getting duals for my 07 but didnt know if it would sound anygood. check out my '07 mustang vid
