Really interesting...I never saw this early version before..Obviously some changes were made later on but this is great..Pretty raw stuff..Bryan Ferry says he met John Lennon once.. They talked briefly he said in a hotel in Japan 1978..

gosh I only just realised he had tears down his face.. i thought it was sweat at first. What a beautiful and sensitive man Bryan is. A wonderful tribute performance <3

My heart breaks; shows us how very sensitive Bryan is, I've never seen a male singer with tears streaming down his face like this. He is just so good, the sensitivity and feeling of his voice shows how much he feels and this video proves it so much...

Bryan too liked John Lennon. Who could blame him. Yet with his long list of hits he seems fixated with this Lennon number. So be it. Long live the great artists and great songs. Bravo.

I was at this gig in Dortmund on the 19th December, still have the ticket. There were 2 stages at each end of the venue. Talking heads played first the roxy music then dire straits and then it was Mike Oldfield. I was 15 but I remember it as if it were yesterday.

On the night of the 8th (UK) they performed this on BBC TV live as we discovered the next morning . . . so very poignant
