Lovely playing, nice guitar. I have a very early Northworthy, the partner to the wrecked dreadnought hanging in his workshop. You don't nip in and nip out when you visit Alan . . .
I agree with Thomo 1305, NICE playing. So why hide the face. If I could play that well I would want to be recognised or are you afraid your mates might not think its cool to play that style.
You are a damn good player mate, be proud and show yourself.
I have set my heart on an Ellastone Special. I need something that can stand being tuned way down below standard (CGCGCD without losing tone or developing a rattle. I exchanged emails with Alan and that's the one he recommended for me so I'm saving hard. I was going to save for a Sobel model a, but the difference in price is not worth it because there is NO difference in quality. In fact, judging from the Carsington I was lucky enough to have a go on, Alan's guitars may even be better.
Thanks for your kind words about my playing. I only covered my face up (until the end) because I was appalled by the terrible faces I seemed to be pulling while I was playing :)
Thanks Thomoo1305 :) Northworthys are very nice guitars indeed. Have you been over to Alan's place to see him making them? If you'd like to chat further about them then feel free to send me your email addy and I'll happily answer any Qs you may have. Best, HP
Hi, when I work out how to get a private email to you I will! Haven't been there yet, had been considering Fylde and Brook too but hearing this has made the decision for me already. What a lovely mellow sound! Will take a look up there soon to see this and the Mayfield - thanks!
I posted with my email addy but it doesn't seem to have come up. If you tell Alan that I asked him to give you my email address (I'm Shirl, btw) then he'll give it to you.

Thinking of getting a Northworthy. The sound from this guitar is beautiful and mellow. Nice playing too!

Hi Thomo,
I posted with my email addy but it doesn't seem to have come up. If you tell Alan that I asked him to give you my email address (I'm Shirl, btw) then he'll give it to you.

Hi Shirl,
I did go in to see Alan. In the end though I went up to Fylde and bought a custom Alexander. Thanks for your help though - much appreciated.

Ah, well Fyldes are fine guitars too :) I wish you much joy of it :)
