Martha Wright was a pop singer of some note, and she sang the Cheer jingle (to the tune of "There'll Be Some Changes Made") for several years. Another commercial had the tag line "You'll see the difference for yourself -- for a whiter wash, get CHEER!" I think Cheer began using the phrase "Deeper Fresher WHITE!" on their boxes circa 1958, however...
