  • The music is NICE!

  • You should maybe think about making the yelling noises for jumping/attacking be random and less frequent. You swing that whip a great deal of times while playing through an entire Castlevania game... it may be a slight experience ruiner to hear "YAH!" that many times.

  • lol people are talking about how the level and music are too cheerful. I say keep it that way then have the second level be drastically more intense... people will be playing it kickin back then once they see/hear the second level they'll shit bricks lol.

  • Very slow music....no good for castlevania game

  • Hats off to you on this effort man! A lot of ppl start fan games but very very few actually work on it for prolonged periods. This game looks really professional! Congrats! Hopefully you'll provide a link where we can download this?

  • Where can I download this?

  • ok, it's 3 years since you posted this, and i would like to ask you, how far are you from finishing the game now? :) this look so awsome, and i REALLY want to try this game, at least the demo ;) if you are having problems with the coding, you can try to watch my game maker tutorial videos ;) maybe it'll help?

  • Very great game. Well done;)

  • if antyone knows how to code using game maker. we will like to have you help to remake this game in game maker and yes jorge is involved and will be laying tile like he did when the game was made in c++. we have a coder but we dont know if he will be commited to dfinishing the whole game. all we need is someone to do the level editor in order to get this game finished and playable to all being that not all people where able to play the c++ version for some reason.

  • This looks good but I suggest using a more dynamic song but over all it looks very nice :) mind telling me what program you used to make this and where I could get it?

  • Soleiyu Belmont necesita un juego YA!!!

  • This looks good. Damn good. Is there any way for you to rip the music into a mp3 file?

  • at 0:44 you killed to the beat!

  • hey hey hey... red richter? is this a Recolor game?

  • if you ever need any heavy remixes for this game let me know! i can hook that up!

  • I want this game.

  • I WANT IT!!!

    plz pm when its ready!!!

  • I like that version of "New Messiah" you used in this stage. Would you mind sharing it with me? I'm a major fan of Konami music!

  • Also could I have the link to this fantastic vertion of New Messiah cant find it anywhere :) many thanks :)

  • Hi friend, excellent work thus far - just asking when you will be releasing it? and if possible could I have a link so I could attempt it please? many thanks and great work!

  • nice!!!! when is the release? :p

  • Really cool! Keep the good work!

  • the shading style on your main character doesn't match that of the enemy sprites. also, like someone said before, the jumps look awkward. either make him jump farther or fall slower. and i think it would be more castlevania-y if it wasn't daytime. rain, fog, darkness, anything but bright cheery skies.

oh, and i forgot to mention that the transitions between rooms are a bit abrupt. but aside from the visual problems, the gameplay looks good. keep it up, man.

  • @duffmancantsee I have never seen an actual castlevania were the jumps didn't look awkward. this actually looks more believeable than most castlevania jumps. I do agree with the rest of of your critique though.

  • Thanks for your honest input. For the jumping, I am having a hard time in the code since I am having problems balancing the gravity and the height of the jump, that's the best I came up with since I wanted it to be like the old castlevanias. well the transitions I can work later since since it is GM6 what I'm using here I have to do it manually and fortunately is not that complicated.

  • @matsuken07 hope not bother you...but soleiyu´s hair is black

  • cool dude what program did you use to make this with? and once your done with it let me know I'll play it.

  • Also, what music was playing?

  • New Messiah from Castlevania 2 : Belmonts Revenge on gameboy i think

  • Thanks!

  • That was pretty good. I loved all the outside areas.

  • great job man! :D

why don't you show more videos about the game?

  • question: you got those Richters from VHX, didn't you?

on a different note, it looks great. where'd you find those mountains?

  • These are from a SOTN tileset I downloaded from spriters-resource(dot)com the daytime ones are the same just recolored.

About the VHX Richters, yes that's true probably I am not using them in the final (1.0) version unless I get permission to use it. (crossing my fingers on that)

  • Awesome!

  • Not bad this one of the best fan game I've ever seen.

  • This is great...the only thing I don't like is that jumping and falling seem to happen too fast, it looks unnatural...the timing seems wrong.

  • Hey man, haven't heard anything on your game in a while. How's it coming along?

  • oh gawd!! this looks really cool!!!

  • dude when you finish the game put the link to download please, it's very cool

  • that was very cool.

and the song, where did you get that from?

  • from the gb game, Castlevania 2: belmont's revenge, Crystal castle stage

  • but i meant exactly this version. Do you know?

  • Did anyone notice that Solieyu was a character from the Gameboy game Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge. Christopher had to fight him to break him from Dracula's control. I had this game.

  • This hack looks great.

I can't wait until it will be ready...

  • It's not a hack..

  • wonderful, i like everything, i would say its really original 5/5!

  • damn good work even with the set backs i would buy it if ya ever finished it id pay what you pay for most games these days 50 bucks

  • Our very good anxiously to play!

This was the best fan-game I saw today!

  • Hey, that's Serio's custom sprite for Richter. ._.

  • yeah i noticed that too

  • me too -______________-

  • Wow!! wonderful, its really cool

  • very impressive. I am eager to see the complete version of this game, should be briliant.

  • Any new videos of the game?

  • hay great game i cant wait till the demo comes out and when will it

  • Very promising indeed!

My suggetions are: as far as I could see it seems it's just too linear, maybe you could add some more ups and downs, rights and lefts to diverse the hero's path, not just straight all the time. Also maybe a lil' work are needed on the main character color scheme, but just my taste.

I hope you finish this great CV homebrew project!

  • Awesome man! I hope you finish this project. Honestly, looks very fun to play.

  • awesome game , we wait it

Q: which program did you use ?

  • A: Game Maker 6.1 Registered

  • looks really good how close are you to finishing it

  • Thanks for the comment. Well I only have (almost) finished the first level with boss and everything but my computer crashed last week and haven't had much time lately to work with the game, sadly. But a demo should be posted soon I hope.

  • well like i said it looks good cant wait to play the demo keep up the kickass work

  • @matsuken07 What'd you make the game on? I'd be game to make a game (with or without you) if I knew how.

  • Look really great, I hope you can finish it.

I have to play it hahaha

    Greets

  • It looks great, good job, and good luck for next.

  • Looks great, although, IMO, the sub-weapon looks real huge, I suggest you make them a bit smaller. Anyway, it's still good as it is.

  • I'm really impressed by this game. I'm convinced that that IS Soleiyu Belmont. I made a page for this game at the Castlevania Wiki that you can edit if you'd like. I'm not sure if I'm able to post links, but you should be able to find it through google.

  • Much apprecciated. I hope to add some of the storyline for all to see in a few days. Right now I'm hard at work in the level boss as soon as I'm finished with him I can probably start with it.

  • cool, is it out of beta yet? i really want to play it!

  • Coooooool!!! *o* xD hey! my favorite part was the music, which title is it? o.o where can I find it? thanks! ;) 5/5

  • The Scenario is very Good!!It does have any official Web?

  • Thanks for the comment. About a webpage, sadly, it doesn't... yet. But I'm contemplating the Anti-Chapel forums or something like it. In any case don't worry, I'll post the link right here when I do.

(BTW, I have made a lot of changes specially about the animations and enemy behavior, namely the bone pillar now it's a force to be reckoned with, heheh and the bridge part now have fishmen making life a living hell too)

  • wow, that looks great!!!! hehe, let me know if there will be a playable demo of this game=)

  • As soon as I get the slope coding right. Damn slope codes are really hard to do right. But as soon as I can address that I'll be posting a demo very soon after that.

  • I considered GM for Bloodletting, but opted into MMF2 since I've been using the companies products for over a decade. But unfortunately when I added over 500 lines of code the engine kinda came apart. So I'm having to totally redo the engine.

  • Now that you mention it, this particular project was to be done with MMF2, I was using the GM built in Image Editor (since I did not have Aimation Shop installed) for the gif animations and then porting then to MMF2 but since I have no previous knowledge of MMF2 things were going quite slowly (and my patience was lacking). Before I knew it I had ALL animation in GM and I said "What the hell, let's continue here (in GM6) since I have some previous (failed) experiences. And there you have it.

  • This game look nice !!!!! 5/5 *****

  • YEAH SOLEIYU LIVES!!! .lml nice work dude

  • Very impressive! I assume by your tags this is being made in Game Maker 7?

  • Thanks. I'm using Game Maker 6.1 for this project though. This was something I came up with a few years ago but couldn't do properly until a few months ago. Since I finally got the hang of the GML coding recently hehe.

  • awesome, I'd like to get some experience in GM myself, but I'm just so used to MMF2. But GM holds so much more potential in the end.
