NIce work, congratulations! but you forgot SERGIU CELIBIDACHE CHIEF CONDUCTOR OF THE BERLINER PHILARMONIKER FROM 1945-1951 until Furtwängler returned . Celibidache+Berliner performed almost 500 CONCERTS! this is more than Bernstein, Maezel, Baremboim, andl all the younger put together!
@akroasis10: Thanks! I know that there were a lot more which I didn't put into this video, but as I said in the intro, it's a very personal choice. Had I morphed every conductor who has worked with the Berlin Phil, this video would be about an hour long :-)
@RMartin973: It's only a small part of the BP conductors which are shown in this video, and of course, the choice is very personal :-) Glad though that you like it. Thanks for watching!
Seiji Ozawa is japanese

@tkanes17: Yes, he is. We had this discussion before. But he was born in China. If you read the older posts, there's more.

Is Roger norrington actually a conductor? Mmhh... I don't think so ;-)

@Matteo7419: Try Roger Norrington at Wikipedia
I wouldn't have put him in if I didn't actually KNOW he's a conductor.
Marlene55M 1 year ago
@Marlene55M Hahaha, I was just sharing a joke. I know he's always trying to conduct, but I find him ridiculous... Sorry ;-)

A history of many of the conductors of the Berlin Philharmonic. Expand the descriptive area to the left of the views counter for more information.

Seiji Ozawa was born on September 1, 1935 - Fenytien (now Shenyang, Liaoning, China).
Barenboim was born in Argentina on November 15, 1942 in Buenos Aires. He has more than one nationality: Argentinina. Israeli, Spanish and Palestinian.
Kent Nagano was born in the USA and has Japanese roots.
Some people are more international than others... :-)

Oh yes, and not to forget Maazel, who was born in France and is a US citizen.
Plus: Sorry for the "Argentinina" typo. It meant to be Argentine.

YOU ARE GOOD MORPHING AROUND! And nice again to retrieve from the memory these "old" names...and to read from where they are from...

What surprised me most when I did the research was that Lorin Maazel was born in France and Daniel Barenboim in Argentina. I never knew that before.
