@SethraFlechet Yeah he was really good, but once you understand how his mech works he was easy to counter, you just have to avoid his shield bash and he won't land a rocket volley on you ever. I give him credit for fighting until the end though, too bad I couldn't remember his name :-/

@PetHorse154 Well yeah, I don't know for other platforms, but for PC multiplayer is pretty much dead. They screwed up big time with the shitty lobby and matchmaking system, that plus the few balance issues and the kinda hard to master gameplay threw the PC players out. I'm playing Space Marine right now for PC, nice third-person shooter by an actually decent developper, unlike SE...

@Cervantes011 Pretty much dead on the 360 and PS3 too. Square Enix didn't develop FME. It was developed by Double Helix.

@DevilKnowing Oh yeah my bad, Double Helix is the one to blame. A shame that they screwed up this game, for it has a really good and challenging gameplay, and could have been a nice game to play as a team with some friends (with strats and all, Heal and EMP backpack adding a tactical dimension depending on the maps etc...). Ugh, thinking about the potential of this game depresses me :( I love mech games.

@Cervantes011 I always prefer From Software games over other mech games (and a tie for mechwarrior) simply because of the experience and extreme fun of the game. Front Mission would be good with a few simple improvements.

@PetHorse154 There are a heap of players still playing. However we're only playing when its common for all of us to play. IE; we won't be all playing at random times, rather we all play at 1 time. Find Sgt.Pando on steam. I'll hook you up with the community that exists and get you in some games. Keep in mind, yes i'm a golden eagle " Tour 11 but I play easy on educate the newer players. Gotta keep the game alive!

@hal3246 Maybe more people will be playing it now that the price dropped - but it's no use to bring your friends on since you can't play as a team in matchmaking. For 7.50 bucks I guess it's still worth a buy if you got nothing else to play.

@petree Not in ranked matchmaking games. Teams are randomly determined (last time I checked they were). You can however set up a custom game (no stats) and be able to choose your team, but that's pretty much only made for clan wars and such. That's the major flaw of the game, its crappy mulitplayer lobby. Not being able to play matchmaking games with friends is a HUGE letdown and the main reason why the game kind of failed, more than any balance issue IMO.

@gangrail Yeah, due to some major design flaws - it's a shitty console port like so many others - the game did not reach the success he deserved in regards of his excellent gameplay, at least on PC.

I found the augments horrible, acid rounds are evil, making those lovely assault rifles I use don a Tiran godly, literally killing guys in a second or two while being too fast to hit, did not need shoulder weapons could use a fast wanzer with agility backpack and be untouchable, not even the grenade spamming guys made me affraid. lol In short personally gameplay is too simple, too fast pace, too arcadeish, does not do the Strategy game parent justice.

@Luminahawke The game is quite unbalanced, that's a fact I won't deny, but the gameplay in itself is good for a 3rd person shooter, fast yet accurate (no lock-on system except for missiles), and the hit management (legs, arms, torso...) is important aswell as knowing how to dodge, jump over enemies, get to cover to counter missiles etc... it's actually pretty complete, more than an average FPS like CoD imo.

Haha, they sure do. My build was terribad tbh, a medium core on light legs... the game had just been released at the time, didn't know much about it. I think it was the best time though, not much missile spam/corrosive shot/bazookas... now everyone run the OP configs.

@cncinwow It really depends on the aiming system, but I find shooter games to be usually easier to play with a mouse+keyboard. Aiming at precise body parts is an important part in this game, as well as dodging constantly. You'll have a hard time doing both at the same time with a PS3 controller.

it's a pretty cool game, multiplayer is punishing at first, because of the ridiculous ascension ranking system, but after you start getting some stuff you like together, it becomes less like having your genitals in a fire and more like fun. the single-player more in simply an over-long tutorial or a series of preparation matches for when you get eaten alive online, and generally sucks. Again, playing online gets to be wicked satisfying though. And there are giant fighting mechs armedto the teeth

@Blacksite97 The lvl by itself does not allow you to carry more weight, but with a higher lvl you will unlock more mechs and weapons, so you will have more possibilities. The power/weight balance is the same for all lvls, but for example, at lvl 49 (Colonel), you unlock the Tiran mech (lightweight) and the Bone Missile Launcher (which is a lighter version of the basic Piz-6 Missile Launcher).

Try to translate that in the google translator, I'm sorry I don't speak a word of german :-/

@xxxxxHavocxxxxx I think the arms and legs are the Rexon basic style in black and red. I think you can do roughly the same effect with any tiger-like camo by putting every color in black and only one red.
