Well, in TLK movies there are several never-answered questions (like who was Kovu's father, why did Scar choose Kovu, or who was Nala's father) but I think it's ok if they stays that way, because they're not really important in the plot of the movie :)

You're right. But, according to the film, Kovu wasn't Scar's son, he had just been chosen by Scar. So we never know who Kovu's real father was...
