@tuweky Sorry about the delay on the response. I don't have a v1.60 AR so I can't tell you exactly what is wrong with the update. It may be something that's happening when you're uncompressing the file. You could try the Media Edition update from the link above or you could hit auto update on the Action Replay manager and then try the 1.71 update again.

@peteriffy you cant update your software to 1.60. Its what comes automatically on the new AR DS. If you have v1.60 already, you update to 1.71. If you have 1.52/1.54 you update to 1.55.

Please Help! i dont understand why it wont work for me. i have v1.60 on my action replay but it just says "not a firmware file" when i try to update to v1.71. ive only found people having this problem with lower version firmware and i have no idea why it wont do it. I do run it as admin to but that doesnt do anything to it. D:

ok I tried downloading the 1.71 its a zipped file. I extracted the files and it wont let me my thing keeps saying waiting for ds. and my ds is on and connected. i am so lost. and all i want to do it play Pokemon white cheats. and every time i try downloading the 1.71 it says a error has occurred. I am on windows xp. someone please help me! I have been to like 10 websites and 5 youtube things. i tried adding the codes myself. i downloaded the desktop thing too. thx!

i just tried to download this Firmware V1.55. and after it finished,i tried dragging it into my Action Replay Code Manager. and when i did that,it said this : Not a Firmware File. what the hell,i thought this was gonna work. i looked up the file that i downloaded this Firmware V1.55 in and here's the info for the saved file : Type : Zip File size : 192 KB Compressed. and i noticed for one of the steps for this it said to drag and drop the UNcompressed file.but mine said Compressed

I updated the v1.55.

It will let me play Pokemon Black and White but, the Mouse Button dissapeared so I cannot connect with the Code Manager, and on top of that it will not let me add any codes. When I try to finish it will say "Insert Action Replay."

@MrFishfood123 if you have v1.60 then you need the v1.71 update from codejunkies(dot)com. If you have the media edition (I dont know what version they start off with) then you need the v2.05 update which can be gotten from the link in the description.

I have successfully updated to Version 1.55, but when I change the ARDS out and put Pokemon Black in, the DS resets, as it did when i was still on firmware 1.54.

I assume this means the firmware update has not fixed the problem, does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this?

@Todd1841 I had this problem with one of my DS (I have two DS Lites). It has nothing to do with the update. Its just a random thing that happens. Datels only answer is to keep trying. Someone else recommended inserting the AR and when you want to switch the cartridge close it over, insert Pokemon Black and open it. I don't know if this works tho.

@PitchBlackLaser. On the link above there is a tap on the right that says nintendo DS. When you click it it will give you a list. There should be one there for me (media Edition). The update is v2.05. I think thats the one you need.

I got action replay 1.60 and tried this step and i keep getting protocol error and I checked there is no GBA games on the slot. Also when i try drag and drop the 1.71 update it says its not a firmware file

@TDWTRULES No its the same. You could try what im8dagansta said in the comments about Vista. The only other thing is to try the 2.05 update from the link if that doesn't work.

i found a vista fix

1. Right click code manager and click properities

2. uncheck admin control

3. run in compatibility mode for service pack 2

4.click on show settings for all users

5. check run in compability mode service pack2

6.drag firmware over

@im8xdagangsta What do you mean when you say "uncheck admin control"? The closest thing mine says is Administrators.

@geroge212 under Compatibility there is a line that says Run this program as an admin. make sure the box next to it is unchecked and run in compatibility mod with service pack 2e which should be at the top of the same tab

Thanks for the Great help, I tried ut and now it works. But I did run into a problem at first. To get to work for me I had to go into the SETTINGS in the AR (wrench bottom right) and click off the SAVE CODE LIST CHANGES and then Click the SAVE ICON(disk) . Now it works like a charm!!
