@LifeOfDuality Yes it does, there's a small stretch on the northeast, I read a blog written by an austrian who travelled through via train it to pyongyang. Check the map.
@LifeOfDuality I've have mistaken this particular video with some other one. It's my misunderstanding I do apologize. Shane Smith the guy from Vice have NK slave footage from Siberia, which will be available soon. There is an article on that topic on VICE.com
@LifeOfDuality no it does not. North Korea borders with China which is currently North Korea's biggest supplier for food. North Korea have train and trail roads that goes through China as well as all the way to up to Russia, before the 1950's these were the 3 communist power in Asia. Don't forget that USSR supported ammunition and resources for the North during the Korean war.
@Zimnyification This footage is filmed by Shane Smith from Vice Guide to Travel, he has been to North Korea and have made a pretty good documentary on it that you can find on Netflix. This particular footage is filmed in Siberia as North Korea have concentration camps all the way up to Russia by train. Shane was with a Russian guide that is familiar with the area and was protecting Shane.
@schranztech - dude, have u got any moral spine? Would you rather casually let all this people and their children be tortured and die of hunger or be worked to death? Can you live comfortablly with the awareness, that sth like that is going on there?
Of course it is easier to just forget and don't care. It doesn't mean that it is right though.
@MilwaukeeFtw You didnt understand my comment at all. Im talking about them letting a dictator gain control of their lives in 1947. Your just telling me information that i already know, and also dont care about. I have no sympathy for cowards who gave up their freedom, just because a fat man had charisma.
@DJYC21215 Please tell me how a 9 year old being starved and beaten in these camps has any control over what his great grandfather did in the 40s? How do ANY of these people deserve this when none of them were even alive at the time Kim-il-Sung was elected?!
Now I don't know much about the early days of N.Korea, only the current situation, but i'm pretty sure that A, they would never have imagined this would be happening and B, regular citizens can't exactly stand up against a soviet backed army
@DJYC21215 It's not as simple as that you know, Korea was divided after ww2, the South was under American administration, the North under Russian administration. The UN divided Korea without even consolidating Korean citizens.
The point is that you can't blame the people locked in these camps (and normal NK citizens outside the camps) for what happened in the 40s and 50s when they weren't even alive...
@MilwaukeeFtw I remember several defectors stateing that they WANTED strong centrelized government. I heard most opposition was in the south, were the north wanted government scocialism. Those in the north that didnt were relocated into areas lable "hostile" blood.(north korea has 51 scocial classes, unlike america only having 3). Its not like the USSR, when the red terror began, the citizens were powerless. However in Maoist china, and the DPRK the people literally WANTED dictatorship.
@MilwaukeeFtw They are paying for the mistakes of their ansentors. This is what many religouns would say. Now since i belive in no religouns, my acual answer is this. The dictator they wanted to rule the country said that the 51 classes of scociety should be based on loyalty to the government. Meaning if their ansestors were disloyal so would the offspring. So they should definetly starve to death because the pass generation wanted this system, and wanted a dictator, so by their own ways suffer.
@MilwaukeeFtw Thats exactly what i said -_-. Im not going to feel remorse for the people in the camps. I see no reason too. They were born to die. Its no different than other countries were the same thing happens but no one talks about. Like the genocide happening in Burma for example. Why should i feel sorry for random people born to die, when their own citezens wanted this to happen, and are still allowing it to happen? Your feeling are different than mines, so they get no pity from me.
@DJYC21215 The only reason the citizens are 'allowing it to happen' is because the country is so totalitarian and brainwashed that no resistance can be formed, and due to the fact that only a select few are allowed in or out of the country they can't get weapons in to start a resistance.
And believe me, there ARE underground groups that smuggle people out of NK and into China.
And your 'They were born there so who cares' logic is just moronic beyond comprehension...
@MilwaukeeFtw How is it ironic? I was born as a human so i have the human rights bound by the constitution. If i was born as an ant, who would care about me? Same thing, the only difference here is these guys are humans born to die. And for the love of cheese, quit telling me stuff i already know. The bottom line is they WANTED a dictatorship, so they wanted 51 classes of division, so they wanted yodok.
It isn't that easy. As much I would love to see Kim get his palace blown to a trillion bits you can't invade North Korea. The people are so brainwashed that they believe that Kim Jong Il is god and savior, and the USA is completely 100% evil. Every man woman and starving child would pick up a gun and fight. They also have one of the largest military forces in the world, while their equipment is ancient and they will lose, they will put up a fight, Kim Jong Il and Kim Il Sung have...
(stupid youtube character limit)... been preparing for a war. They have tons of missiles aimed at Seoul, ready to be fired, hundreds of thousands of South Koreans would die. And the emerging world superpower China is right next door, they would get very nervous that the US is right next door and would possibly launch a counter attack causing a much major conflict. I think it's best for us to stop sending any food or aid and wait for the military to eventually starve.
@ElBarto3131 We would get involved and China would not interfere because we do alot of buisness with them and they would risk losing billions of dollars with us. North Korea would stand alone against South Korea,USA and Japan (Japan hates North Korea) and all the Millions of innocent people suffering in the gulags would take up arms against the regime.
What do South Korea and China do with the millions of malnourished and uneducated people flooding there? It would no doubt put a huge strain on both countries.
@LORDMCHUGH It's communism. I know your reasoning. Communism has never been implemented correctly that's why it doesn't work. Faulty reasoning. This is what communism becomes my friend. .. Stalinism. Someone appoints themselves overseer or ruler. It always happens. Do you know how horrible the people live in North Korea? They only have the food that the government gives them, no markets. No adequate healthcare. Torture. Constant brainwashing. This is communism like it or not.
@thenaj88 Communism HAS been implemented and HAS failed. Jamestown was a communist tiny township before. Japan before queen himiko was a scociety that wasnt based on communist ideas, but ran like an ideal communism. Egypt before the pharo. Look up history deeper and you will see communism existed before common rule and government. It failed by human greed and another person rising up to conquer.
@DJYC21215 Yes Communism doesn't usually work precisely because someone usually believes he is more free and equal then everyone else. And inevitably takes power. Communism is just a form of fascism, and fascism in a lot of ways resembles communism. Extreme ends of the spectrum end up at the exact same place... Dictatorship, theocracy or both.
@thenaj88 True and false. Ancient communist scocieties failed because they were conquered by people who didnt want to be equal to "lesser beings". Which is why egypt had a pharo, japan had an emperess, Jamestown had a mayor, ancient china having an emperor, ect.
@DJYC21215 So what do we take away from this? I would say... A powerful, productive, humane, and intellectual society is not any of these things because it revolves around a mighty state but because of the individual strength, the individual motivation, the individual curiosity, and the freedom of its people.
@thenaj88 Which is true communism. See in the acient scocieties i names, there was no kind of soverignty only people in those lands that lived the way they wanted without any rules or opression. That doesnt exist anymore. There is no such thing as its people, because that implies some sort of superior rule, which implies government. There is no government in communism. This can fail or succeed depending on the intellegence of each individual in the territory of no governence.
@DJYC21215 You should go chill with Pol Pot in Cambodia, or go skiing in North Korea. Maybe a luxurious visit to former USSR will do you wonders. Maybe you should commit a capital offense in China and watch how fast the government harvests your organs. Oh, you won't do any of those things? Then stop equating the non-communist world to the communist world. What an "open minded" young genius you are, advocating communism and all its horrors.
@DJYC21215 I like the part where the Berlin Wall and USSR fell and then spoiled American kids under hippie/leftist parents grew up to become pro-communist. How wondrously ironic.
@thenaj88 But i think we agree that the word "communism" had definetly been falsely named by governments and telivision, so that true freedom wont ever be acomplished, and that so people can continue to be ruled over. I just feel sorry that North korea has the brunt of oppresion.
@DJYC21215 Okay how come communists are always so pretentious that they believe that people would willingly force themselves to work in an agricultural society and only worry about the needs of other people? Every country that has ever turned communist has had horrible human rights records, and yet communists today claim no true communism has existed. Well, when will man aspire to merely work on a farm for all eternity? Probably never. And that's good.
@DJYC21215 Oh, how revisionist and invalid! But p\lease, while you're at it, let me know where communism has existed in the modern world then, according to your non-hair-brained ideas.
@DJYC21215 Oh, how revisionist and invalid! But p\lease, while you're at it, let me know where communism has existed in the modern world then, according to your non-hair-brained ideas.
@DJYC21215 Oh, how revisionist and invalid! But p\lease, while you're at it, let me know where communism has existed in the modern world then, according to your non-hair-brained ideas.
@DJYC21215 I guess all the murders, all the violence, all the destruction of society and families and jobs and wealth in the name of communism doesn't matter to you, because nobody's "truly" been communist in your book. I guess you imagine some weird reality where all man aspires to do is work on a collectivized farm- willingly. And yet you yourself have a computer, name-brand clothes, modern luxury. What a hypocrite communist tool.
@Tripo1iSamson You can say the same thing about capitalism too. The 106 military bases stationed in 96 countries around the world that america has proves that. Your an undeducated fool man im not wasting my time with you. Just because a duck says its a dog doesnt me it is a dog. Tell me what ideology do you follow and i can guerantee you would look like a hypocryte if i broke it down.
@DJYC21215 Sure, the relativistic argument. Somehow you attempt to equate communism with capitalism. Yet, the parts of the world where capitalism is practiced do much better than any communist nation ever has or will. No gulags exist in America, there's no capitalist equation to the Soviet Union holding control of 15 nations, there's been no society without rights similar to China or Russia in any modern government except for communist nations.
@DJYC21215 "You can say the same thing about capitalism too." Actually you can't. There aren't gulags in America, Americans don't get spied on 24/7 by communist secret police, American military was never ordered to open fire on civilians in a square like the commies ordered the Russians to do against the Hungarians. "Capitalism" never forced people onto farms and out of wealthy lifestyles. Capitalism didn't kill entire families like the Khmer Rouge did.
@DJYC21215 Ah, so now we depart reality, and enter the world of conspiracy-theorist-factless thinking. These "FEMA camps" don't actually qualify as gulags, considering they aren't filled with people who technically don't exist, as was common in the Soviet Union. But considering you believe in that nonsense, what other Alex-Jones-related babble are you going to inform me of now? Chemtrails? The evilllllllllll illuminati? Great stories and all, but I was debating with reality, buddy.
@DJYC21215 And yeah, a lot of American military installations were built during and right after WWII, and then through the Cold War. Considering that after WWII America was the only industrialized nation to not have had battles on its own soil, it could have conquered any part of the world. Instead, America sought to ensure that the spread of despotic communism was halted. But I'm sure that doesn't fit you attitude of "if communism did it, then capitalism did too, but I like communism more."
@DJYC21215 So, despite you having called me the "most uneducated" person you've "met," I ask you this: can you distinguish between fact and websites like Infowars? Can you distinguish between a logical and credited debunking of a conspiracy theory and websites such as Above Top Secret? Because if you can't, I don't see how you are remotely qualified to speak on matters such as politics, which involve many more people than yourself and are of much more importance than conspiracy theories.
@DJYC21215 Actually, history gets recorded in real-time by several different sources. And please, if you're trying to debate me, please actually argue points or facts or reference history or credited sources, don't just claim that "history is written by the winners" and then continue spewing stuff about retarded non-problems such as "FEMA camps."
@DJYC21215 those Hungarian civilians who were sick of communism to the gulags, to secret prisons. This was historically documented. No comparable event has ever happened in American history, perpetrated by Americans. No other even has happened from non-communist nations to anyone else. And of course, no event like that exists in your mind, because it's not the kind of story that gets told on leftist or conspiracy theorist websites. Later, buddy.
@Tripo1iSamson Seriously stop giving me scociallist countries as proof. Name a country that was communist, i bet you cant. Go on little doggie try. Ill give you a treat if you answer right.
@DJYC21215 "A communist state is a state with a form of government characterized by single-party rule or dominant-party rule of a communist party and a professed allegiance to a Leninist or Marxist-Leninist communist ideology as the guiding principle of the state." Self-declared communist states include China, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, and North Korea. Also there are many socialist states.
@DJYC21215 I take it you've argued with the Chinese communist party that they aren't communist? I take it you've argued with Stalinist Russians that their country wasn't communist? Maybe you went to those irksome farms in Cambodia and told those workers that they weren't participating in communism.
@Tripo1iSamson Do you want me to send you a book written by acual communist? Again if i say im japanese but im really american does that make me japanese? Seriously just because a country CLAIMES communism doesnt mean they are communist.
@DJYC21215 Considering that you believe in conspiracy theories as well as seem to tout leftist politics without a moments critical thought given to either matter, here's something else that will upset your humble little mind: old American Republicans had the same reason for disbanding slavery as they did for wanting fair representation in taxes. I'm sure you can't think of that reason, so here it is: that every man is entitled to the sweat of his brow.
@Tripo1iSamson It isnt a problem for me friend, it will be a problem for you. Anyways since you are clueless im finished with this discussion. You can find american camps on google earth or ask any high ranking officer about them. You can respond to me but im done so enjoy talking to a computer screen.
@DJYC21215 Simply repeating yourself about FEMA camps doesn't change the fact they don't exist and have been thoroughly debunked by sources much more credited than yourself.
@DJYC21215 Thus, it was the thinking of educated Republicans of the time that nobody had a right to control another man's labor, that each person had a right to the fruits of their labor, black, white, male or not. And communism and socialism immediately stomp on those things: communist nations tend to be xenophobic, close-minded, ideological. They take away the ability to profit and strive from the individual. They de-motivate the common man.
@DJYC21215 See, if everybody thought like you, we wouldn't have an internet, we wouldn't have cars, wealth, prosperity, low infant mortality rates, freedom. We'd be a despotic people who accepted the word of figures of authority (in your case, probably Alex Jones and other nutjobs) without question. So, try to bear with me, who's really "uneducated" here?
@Tripo1iSamson Look up what i said. Its not hard to find. In fact go to a local bookstore and pay 11$ for some books. You will learn alot. lol your suffering from normacy bias. Look that up if you didnt have a phycology class. The jews in germany called the jews who left germany in 1935 a conspiracy theorist, and 10 years later the ones that stayed behind were mass murdered(if it acually happened). Same with the North koreans who didnt flee in the 1980's.
@DJYC21215 Oh and by the way, when you "What the fuck are you blabing about," I was "blabing" about the time the Soviets ordered their troops in Hungary to open fire on the locals in a square. The Russian troops had been there so long with the locals, that they didn't open fire on the locals, but rather on the really nasty die-hard commie Hungarian equivalent to the KGB, who were shooting the locals, their own people. The wonderful USSR responded by sending their troops who wouldn't kill
@DJYC21215 By the way, you cited Jamestown as an example of communism. Considering communism didn't exist at the time, your argument's nullified, but for the sake of entertainment let's pretend it wasn't. So, didn't most of those folks at Jamestown starve to death? Wasn't Jamestown a very unique place at the time, considering there weren't many (or any) other colonies in North America at the time? Why is it that Jamestown is referenced as communism in practice, and that's supposed to be good?
@DJYC21215 Oh okay. So no country that self-declares that it is communist is communist, communism existed before it was ever conceptualized, and FEMA camps exist despite being debunked over and over again. I think I'm beginning to see a pattern emerge in regards to your method of argument and logic.
@DJYC21215 Tell you what, you never try to have me or mine ever forcibly made to work on a farm or refuse social mobility, and I'll never force you to acknowledge the possibility of success, wealth, moving up, owning a computer, going to college or private school, or doing all those things you will do, can do, may not do, but do or don't do while taking them all fully for granted.
@DJYC21215 By the way, Popular Mechanics, Fox News, JREF, the Skeptics Project and loads of other sources have debunked the whole "FEMA camp" nonsense. Other people did as well, jerks like Glenn Beck, who often get accused of making up these conspiracy theories. In fact, there seems to be no clear original source for these stories, EXCEPT for discredited and generally non-sourced conspiracy websites.
@DJYC21215 I follow the ideology of "I don't pretend to believe that communism is a good thing because anyone who doesn't skew what their eyes see can see that those nations tend to have low standards of living and high records of death." I also subscribe to "I'm not a pretentious student who thinks communist nations are somehow equitable to other nations."
@DJYC21215 Generally speaking, the only fools who claim communism hasn't existed or was never practiced are communists themselves- though you claim it's existed before, you fit well into that category: revisionist. Ready to take the same stupid leap for all humanity. Ready to re-write history and explain to all the evils of capitalism, while using your company-made-computer, on the American-invented internet, on an American corporation's website.
@Tripo1iSamson Who fool i never said i didnt like capitalism, however absolute capitalism cannot work, as you will see when the american society collapses next year when the world decides they wont accept US dollars anymore. Also i never said absolute communism works either. Both ideologies are flawed, your assuming im pro-communist. I like communism but it is flawed. Also your getting the DPRK confused with socialism pal. Those who understand how the system works will benifit from it.
I think we need to build Communist labor camps like this here in the US so leftist can go to live and work and be happy. Then they will leave the rest of us alone..
@KraZedSexPoodle You think Liberals have a mental disease, and yet you want to suspend civil liberties and make people work as slaves because of differing political ideologies? Nice one.
@KraZedSexPoodle You think Communist works and have labor camps planned for everybody else so that means slave labor is good enough for you also. You can leave when you admit socialism does't work and you love America.
I would seriously question the authenticity of this video. International sanctions are the cause of North Korea's problems and that in itself is a human rights abuse.
@DarkMedievalTimes north korea is actually the one that wont accept any outside help, they consider themselves self dependant, which is ridiculous because their are famines so bad the best people can eat is bark and grass, meanwhile kim jong il has the money to get his son a trainload of ridiculously expensive birthay presents, it is however a problem that we go around toting freedom and yet the international community allow nazi style sick stuff like this to just go on for 60 years,
I seriously cant believe that ur saying that there is freedom in north korea ur electricity is turned of in the evenin, and ur not allowed out of ur country comon, in the US u are even allowed to make racist groups without bein arrested.
@dustylefou Which part of murderers and rapists don't you anderstand? I know that no person convicted for petty crimes should be sent there, but subhumans such as murderers and mass murderers, rapist (especially child rapists) don't deserve anything better. The prisons of my country are like a 5 star hotel with tv, toilet, computer and furniture in each cell. We should send our hardcore criminals over there, so they can do some good for whatever society for at least a single time in their life.
@Scorpitarios No man has deserved being there. It is hell, and I don't believe anyone gets better from experiencing hell. Plus, supporting the society of North Korea is the very core of the problem - the society should break down, so the >40.000 Christians and 160.000 other critics of the system can get a chance to live. I say it again, NO person gets better from living in hell.
I really feel like this is staged. There's no way they would allow the camp to be filmed for so long and from so many different angles, without somebody shutting them down.
Yodok is actually fairly comfortable compared to other camps in the country. Alot of the prisoners here are seen as 'redeemable' and may be serving sentences of 10-20 years of re-education so they can rejoin society as a loyal revolutionary of the Dear Leader. This is not to say they are not enduring hell, but compared to other camps around the country where the lifers are being worked to death, it could be far, far worse
apparently according to a book i read written by a yodok survivor (Kang-Chol Hwan - The aquariums of pyongyang) in yodok there is a part for redeemables and also a part for un-redeemables. out of this last part noone has escaped alive or has been let out. so i don't think that it's any better than other camps. Yodok is also the biggest if i can believe the numbers
What I would like to know, is how in the world did the person with the camera get this footage? There's so much, how did they not get caught so close to the camp?!
-Video camera smuggled across the north korean/ chinese border, North Korean possibly paid by a chinese/ south korean or whatever to go to this location and film.
...Probably how it's done. I'd love to do it lol... but im blonde!! :(
I dunno dude, coming there with a camera is like signing your death, what ammount of money would make someone risk to be invited into the camp as a permanent member?
Now that I think about it, I think this video might actually be indeed approved by the NK goverment, in the video prisoners dont look mistreated, overworked, starving, tortured, etc this video make it seem as if it was not so bad, so maybe they told some prisoners to pose as if they were ok and allowed someone to film it so they can say "Now you see? no human rights abuse" the guard came close and said the prisoners something maybe it was like "we are beign filmed act as if you were ok"
@MilwaukeeFtw A North Korean underground group called 'The Freedom Youth League' takes video footages around North Korea and smuggle it out to China. This video was featured as a part of their project in a documentary 'Undercover In The Secret State.
@MilwaukeeFtw I'm guessing that this footage was taken by Ahn Chol, whose undercover work inside North Korea is featured in a Discovery Channel documentary called "Children of the Secret State."
Obama, the supposed best president evar of the U.S.A., is just overlooking these people. Hes to busy on the daily show to talk about his bowling skills.
@MrSuikerpinda oh, probably nothing. except that he's an idiot. and his parents didn't love him... and he's probably, probably black muslim. OOOH someone will be mad at me XD
yeah and the genocide would not have happen if the turks didnt do that to the armenians. hitler "who remembers the armenians now" its not the exact quotes buts its somthing like that.
Actually the concentration camps were invented by the British during the Boer wars. Note that those were actual concentration (detention) camps and not death camps or forced labor camps.
They did the same in Malaysia...effectively seperating the population from the enemy. It proved quite effective and the conditions were good. It wasn't punishment.
@MrSuikerpinda this might sound provoking, but what is the difference in epistemological terms with the Assange case? And what about bombing countries and killing hundreds of thousands people that hadn't even expressed any opinion? Am I taking this too further, or instead they are all sides of the same shit?
@lucapaolo There's certainly a difference in degrees of totalitarianism, but - yes - the core problem is the same in the US, Europe, China, and North Korea. It's the problem of a group of elites who, by whatever means, kill and enslave the common people for their own personal gain. Whether that is execs at Disney, Exxon, or Pfizer, the president of the US, or Batshit Crazy Kim. That said, Assange ain't in a concentration camp, nor is he likely to be, so the comparison is pretty uncalled for...

The North Korean concentration camps are horrific and are as bad as Auschwitz but North Korea and it's fat cat leader's can be appeased and pacified if we keep them in power. The real threat to Western civilization comes from the barbaric muslims of the Middle East. North Korea is an evil nation but Islamic regimes like Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Sudan have to be our main focus and destroyed first like how we beat Hitler's Germany and then Japan. The Muslims as the Nazis and North Koreans as Japan.
"Barbaric Muslims"? I think that's a bit of a generalisation. There are minorities of "barbaric" extremists in a lot of religions, but that doesn't mean everybody is; I'd say that Islam heavily promotes its followers to avoid sin and crime just as much as many other mainstream religions. Evidently someone or something has caused you to hold a very slanted view of world affairs.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Most Muslims are barbaric.Even those that come out and "condemn" the acts of violence secretly agree with the so-called extremists and in my view they're as bad if not worse than the perpetrators of violence because at least the militants practice and preach the same bullshit!
Why can't all North Koreans unite, and throw Kim Jong ill and friends into Yodok? Let them enjoy the chemical testing, eat s*** (instead of live lobsters), and have them run around the camp naked in the freezing cold? Surely, Kim is nothing if people don't listen to him
well heres hoping he will be dead soon, and the next kim to take his place is either much less evil or so incompetent he leads the government of North Korea to its collapse.

Guantanamo Bay is full of human rights abuses, and it has been extremely well documented by Amnesty International and various other organizations. Stop the lies. And lets not forget about the CIA's secret prisons and black sites, which are even worse.
You're kidding right? I'd take a secret CIA prison over North Korea's notorious concentration camps any day of the week. Having dogs growl at me and being stripped naked and humiliated is nothing compared to gas chambers, executions, starvation, frostbite, and imprisonment of 3 generations. Guantanamo Bay is like high school compared to Yodok.
@korngirl95616 And you have to think, men, that there are people that believe that in NorthCorea there is freedom. Sorry for my english, i'm not english.
I wonder what will happen to these people now that Kim Jung Il is dead. His son is on his way...boo.

@DJYC21215 Actually, only a few brought it on themselves, if one person commits a crime then their extended families are sent to these camps as well.
And the reasons for the one's that actually committed the crimes are rarely what us westerners would even call 'serious'.

@MilwaukeeFtw You didnt understand my comment at all. Im talking about them letting a dictator gain control of their lives in 1947. Your just telling me information that i already know, and also dont care about. I have no sympathy for cowards who gave up their freedom, just because a fat man had charisma.
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 Please tell me how a 9 year old being starved and beaten in these camps has any control over what his great grandfather did in the 40s? How do ANY of these people deserve this when none of them were even alive at the time Kim-il-Sung was elected?!
Now I don't know much about the early days of N.Korea, only the current situation, but i'm pretty sure that A, they would never have imagined this would be happening and B, regular citizens can't exactly stand up against a soviet backed army
MilwaukeeFtw 3 months ago
@MilwaukeeFtw So if a dictaitor was coming to power in your country, and the military was on his side, you would sit on your ass and do nothing?
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 It's not as simple as that you know, Korea was divided after ww2, the South was under American administration, the North under Russian administration. The UN divided Korea without even consolidating Korean citizens.
The point is that you can't blame the people locked in these camps (and normal NK citizens outside the camps) for what happened in the 40s and 50s when they weren't even alive...
MilwaukeeFtw 3 months ago
@MilwaukeeFtw I remember several defectors stateing that they WANTED strong centrelized government. I heard most opposition was in the south, were the north wanted government scocialism. Those in the north that didnt were relocated into areas lable "hostile" blood.(north korea has 51 scocial classes, unlike america only having 3). Its not like the USSR, when the red terror began, the citizens were powerless. However in Maoist china, and the DPRK the people literally WANTED dictatorship.
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 So a starving child who was born into concentration camp should share the blame of this because....?
MilwaukeeFtw 3 months ago
@MilwaukeeFtw They are paying for the mistakes of their ansentors. This is what many religouns would say. Now since i belive in no religouns, my acual answer is this. The dictator they wanted to rule the country said that the 51 classes of scociety should be based on loyalty to the government. Meaning if their ansestors were disloyal so would the offspring. So they should definetly starve to death because the pass generation wanted this system, and wanted a dictator, so by their own ways suffer.
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 Yes, that's what their ancestors wanted, not what these people growing up in the camps want.
Again, how is it a starving 9 year old's fault he's in yodok when he had ABSOLUTELY NO IMPACT to affect the decision, it was his ancestors, NOT him.
MilwaukeeFtw 3 months ago
@MilwaukeeFtw Thats exactly what i said -_-. Im not going to feel remorse for the people in the camps. I see no reason too. They were born to die. Its no different than other countries were the same thing happens but no one talks about. Like the genocide happening in Burma for example. Why should i feel sorry for random people born to die, when their own citezens wanted this to happen, and are still allowing it to happen? Your feeling are different than mines, so they get no pity from me.
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 The only reason the citizens are 'allowing it to happen' is because the country is so totalitarian and brainwashed that no resistance can be formed, and due to the fact that only a select few are allowed in or out of the country they can't get weapons in to start a resistance.
And believe me, there ARE underground groups that smuggle people out of NK and into China.
And your 'They were born there so who cares' logic is just moronic beyond comprehension...
MilwaukeeFtw 3 months ago 2
@MilwaukeeFtw How is it ironic? I was born as a human so i have the human rights bound by the constitution. If i was born as an ant, who would care about me? Same thing, the only difference here is these guys are humans born to die. And for the love of cheese, quit telling me stuff i already know. The bottom line is they WANTED a dictatorship, so they wanted 51 classes of division, so they wanted yodok.
DJYC21215 3 months ago
@DJYC21215 Yes, THEY wanted it, not these people.

WHY THE HELL ARE WE IN LIBYA? HUMANITARIAN SHIT? WE NEED TO INVADE NORTH KOREA AND FREE THOSE PEOPLE.....................NOW!
capnhands 7 months ago
@capnhands
ElBarto3131 7 months ago
@capnhands
ElBarto3131 7 months ago
@ElBarto3131 We would get involved and China would not interfere because we do alot of buisness with them and they would risk losing billions of dollars with us. North Korea would stand alone against South Korea,USA and Japan (Japan hates North Korea) and all the Millions of innocent people suffering in the gulags would take up arms against the regime.

@LORDMCHUGH It's communism. I know your reasoning. Communism has never been implemented correctly that's why it doesn't work. Faulty reasoning. This is what communism becomes my friend. .. Stalinism. Someone appoints themselves overseer or ruler. It always happens. Do you know how horrible the people live in North Korea? They only have the food that the government gives them, no markets. No adequate healthcare. Torture. Constant brainwashing. This is communism like it or not.
thenaj88 7 months ago
@thenaj88 Communism HAS been implemented and HAS failed. Jamestown was a communist tiny township before. Japan before queen himiko was a scociety that wasnt based on communist ideas, but ran like an ideal communism. Egypt before the pharo. Look up history deeper and you will see communism existed before common rule and government. It failed by human greed and another person rising up to conquer.
DJYC21215 5 months ago
@DJYC21215 Yes Communism doesn't usually work precisely because someone usually believes he is more free and equal then everyone else. And inevitably takes power. Communism is just a form of fascism, and fascism in a lot of ways resembles communism. Extreme ends of the spectrum end up at the exact same place... Dictatorship, theocracy or both.
thenaj88 5 months ago
@thenaj88 True and false. Ancient communist scocieties failed because they were conquered by people who didnt want to be equal to "lesser beings". Which is why egypt had a pharo, japan had an emperess, Jamestown had a mayor, ancient china having an emperor, ect.
DJYC21215 5 months ago
@DJYC21215 So what do we take away from this? I would say... A powerful, productive, humane, and intellectual society is not any of these things because it revolves around a mighty state but because of the individual strength, the individual motivation, the individual curiosity, and the freedom of its people.
thenaj88 5 months ago
@thenaj88 Which is true communism. See in the acient scocieties i names, there was no kind of soverignty only people in those lands that lived the way they wanted without any rules or opression. That doesnt exist anymore. There is no such thing as its people, because that implies some sort of superior rule, which implies government. There is no government in communism. This can fail or succeed depending on the intellegence of each individual in the territory of no governence.
DJYC21215 5 months ago
@DJYC21215 You should go chill with Pol Pot in Cambodia, or go skiing in North Korea. Maybe a luxurious visit to former USSR will do you wonders. Maybe you should commit a capital offense in China and watch how fast the government harvests your organs. Oh, you won't do any of those things? Then stop equating the non-communist world to the communist world. What an "open minded" young genius you are, advocating communism and all its horrors.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 I like the part where the Berlin Wall and USSR fell and then spoiled American kids under hippie/leftist parents grew up to become pro-communist. How wondrously ironic.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@thenaj88 But i think we agree that the word "communism" had definetly been falsely named by governments and telivision, so that true freedom wont ever be acomplished, and that so people can continue to be ruled over. I just feel sorry that North korea has the brunt of oppresion.
DJYC21215 5 months ago
@DJYC21215 Okay how come communists are always so pretentious that they believe that people would willingly force themselves to work in an agricultural society and only worry about the needs of other people? Every country that has ever turned communist has had horrible human rights records, and yet communists today claim no true communism has existed. Well, when will man aspire to merely work on a farm for all eternity? Probably never. And that's good.

Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@Tripo1iSamson You can say the same thing about capitalism too. The 106 military bases stationed in 96 countries around the world that america has proves that. Your an undeducated fool man im not wasting my time with you. Just because a duck says its a dog doesnt me it is a dog. Tell me what ideology do you follow and i can guerantee you would look like a hypocryte if i broke it down.
DJYC21215 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Sure, the relativistic argument. Somehow you attempt to equate communism with capitalism. Yet, the parts of the world where capitalism is practiced do much better than any communist nation ever has or will. No gulags exist in America, there's no capitalist equation to the Soviet Union holding control of 15 nations, there's been no society without rights similar to China or Russia in any modern government except for communist nations.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 "You can say the same thing about capitalism too." Actually you can't. There aren't gulags in America, Americans don't get spied on 24/7 by communist secret police, American military was never ordered to open fire on civilians in a square like the commies ordered the Russians to do against the Hungarians. "Capitalism" never forced people onto farms and out of wealthy lifestyles. Capitalism didn't kill entire families like the Khmer Rouge did.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@Tripo1iSamson Also there are gulags in america called FEMA CAMPS. THERE ARE CAMERAS EVERY HERE DUMB ASS.
DJYC21215 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Ah, so now we depart reality, and enter the world of conspiracy-theorist-factless thinking. These "FEMA camps" don't actually qualify as gulags, considering they aren't filled with people who technically don't exist, as was common in the Soviet Union. But considering you believe in that nonsense, what other Alex-Jones-related babble are you going to inform me of now? Chemtrails? The evilllllllllll illuminati? Great stories and all, but I was debating with reality, buddy.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 And yeah, a lot of American military installations were built during and right after WWII, and then through the Cold War. Considering that after WWII America was the only industrialized nation to not have had battles on its own soil, it could have conquered any part of the world. Instead, America sought to ensure that the spread of despotic communism was halted. But I'm sure that doesn't fit you attitude of "if communism did it, then capitalism did too, but I like communism more."
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@Tripo1iSamson What the fuck are you blabing about? Seriously man stop talking to me. Your like one of the most uneducated guys i know.

@DJYC21215 I've referenced actual history, not an emotional attitude. And to you that's "uneducated."

@Tripo1iSamson There is a difference between history, and his-stor-ry. His-stor-ry is written by the winners. Go even deeper in your reading.
DJYC21215 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 So, despite you having called me the "most uneducated" person you've "met," I ask you this: can you distinguish between fact and websites like Infowars? Can you distinguish between a logical and credited debunking of a conspiracy theory and websites such as Above Top Secret? Because if you can't, I don't see how you are remotely qualified to speak on matters such as politics, which involve many more people than yourself and are of much more importance than conspiracy theories.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Actually, history gets recorded in real-time by several different sources. And please, if you're trying to debate me, please actually argue points or facts or reference history or credited sources, don't just claim that "history is written by the winners" and then continue spewing stuff about retarded non-problems such as "FEMA camps."
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 those Hungarian civilians who were sick of communism to the gulags, to secret prisons. This was historically documented. No comparable event has ever happened in American history, perpetrated by Americans. No other even has happened from non-communist nations to anyone else. And of course, no event like that exists in your mind, because it's not the kind of story that gets told on leftist or conspiracy theorist websites. Later, buddy.

Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 I take it you've argued with the Chinese communist party that they aren't communist? I take it you've argued with Stalinist Russians that their country wasn't communist? Maybe you went to those irksome farms in Cambodia and told those workers that they weren't participating in communism.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago

@DJYC21215 You owe me a treat. If I can decide what treat that is, it's get your head out of your ass.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Considering that you believe in conspiracy theories as well as seem to tout leftist politics without a moments critical thought given to either matter, here's something else that will upset your humble little mind: old American Republicans had the same reason for disbanding slavery as they did for wanting fair representation in taxes. I'm sure you can't think of that reason, so here it is: that every man is entitled to the sweat of his brow.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@Tripo1iSamson It isnt a problem for me friend, it will be a problem for you. Anyways since you are clueless im finished with this discussion. You can find american camps on google earth or ask any high ranking officer about them. You can respond to me but im done so enjoy talking to a computer screen.
DJYC21215 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Simply repeating yourself about FEMA camps doesn't change the fact they don't exist and have been thoroughly debunked by sources much more credited than yourself.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Thus, it was the thinking of educated Republicans of the time that nobody had a right to control another man's labor, that each person had a right to the fruits of their labor, black, white, male or not. And communism and socialism immediately stomp on those things: communist nations tend to be xenophobic, close-minded, ideological. They take away the ability to profit and strive from the individual. They de-motivate the common man.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 See, if everybody thought like you, we wouldn't have an internet, we wouldn't have cars, wealth, prosperity, low infant mortality rates, freedom. We'd be a despotic people who accepted the word of figures of authority (in your case, probably Alex Jones and other nutjobs) without question. So, try to bear with me, who's really "uneducated" here?
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago

Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@Tripo1iSamson Communism existed long before karl marx was born. look it up.
DJYC21215 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Oh okay. So no country that self-declares that it is communist is communist, communism existed before it was ever conceptualized, and FEMA camps exist despite being debunked over and over again. I think I'm beginning to see a pattern emerge in regards to your method of argument and logic.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Tell you what, you never try to have me or mine ever forcibly made to work on a farm or refuse social mobility, and I'll never force you to acknowledge the possibility of success, wealth, moving up, owning a computer, going to college or private school, or doing all those things you will do, can do, may not do, but do or don't do while taking them all fully for granted.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 By the way, Popular Mechanics, Fox News, JREF, the Skeptics Project and loads of other sources have debunked the whole "FEMA camp" nonsense. Other people did as well, jerks like Glenn Beck, who often get accused of making up these conspiracy theories. In fact, there seems to be no clear original source for these stories, EXCEPT for discredited and generally non-sourced conspiracy websites.
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 I follow the ideology of "I don't pretend to believe that communism is a good thing because anyone who doesn't skew what their eyes see can see that those nations tend to have low standards of living and high records of death." I also subscribe to "I'm not a pretentious student who thinks communist nations are somehow equitable to other nations."
Tripo1iSamson 4 months ago
@DJYC21215 Generally speaking, the only fools who claim communism hasn't existed or was never practiced are communists themselves- though you claim it's existed before, you fit well into that category: revisionist. Ready to take the same stupid leap for all humanity. Ready to re-write history and explain to all the evils of capitalism, while using your company-made-computer, on the American-invented internet, on an American corporation's website.

Yodok is actually fairly comfortable compared to other camps in the country. Alot of the prisoners here are seen as 'redeemable' and may be serving sentences of 10-20 years of re-education so they can rejoin society as a loyal revolutionary of the Dear Leader. This is not to say they are not enduring hell, but compared to other camps around the country where the lifers are being worked to death, it could be far, far worse
rc12069 1 year ago
@rc12069
apparently according to a book i read written by a yodok survivor (Kang-Chol Hwan - The aquariums of pyongyang) in yodok there is a part for redeemables and also a part for un-redeemables. out of this last part noone has escaped alive or has been let out. so i don't think that it's any better than other camps. Yodok is also the biggest if i can believe the numbers

Now that I think about it, I think this video might actually be indeed approved by the NK goverment, in the video prisoners dont look mistreated, overworked, starving, tortured, etc this video make it seem as if it was not so bad, so maybe they told some prisoners to pose as if they were ok and allowed someone to film it so they can say "Now you see? no human rights abuse" the guard came close and said the prisoners something maybe it was like "we are beign filmed act as if you were ok"

gaggianese27 2 years ago
I know very well the situation, being of a family of refugees from the north in the 60' and my grand father knew the N korean camps.
what i said was to answer to this stupid remark about camps like that in italie
donhenri01 2 years ago
if you think that, then you think exactly like the nazi-italians in 1930-1945 because this is a nazi practice you jerk
fedinhorax 2 years ago 2
And a Soviet one. The Nazi camps were inspired by the Soviet camps, that is historical fact.
brentoneccles 2 years ago
yeah and the genocide would not have happen if the turks didnt do that to the armenians. hitler "who remembers the armenians now" its not the exact quotes buts its somthing like that.
zio5q 2 years ago 2
But, the genocide descended from Communism ... which is precisely where Hitler adapted it from.
The Soviets killed at least 20,000,000 innocents!
brentoneccles 2 years ago
Who after all now remembers the annihilation of the Armenians - hitler. Na the turks did the first genocide of the 20th century look it up ^^
zio5q 2 years ago 11
@brentoneccles For ppl who whant to look it up i think its called holodomor
MrSuikerpinda 1 year ago
Actually the concentration camps were invented by the British during the Boer wars. Note that those were actual concentration (detention) camps and not death camps or forced labor camps.
Wafflepudding 2 years ago 6
They did the same in Malaysia...effectively seperating the population from the enemy. It proved quite effective and the conditions were good. It wasn't punishment.
nicck 1 year ago
@brentoneccles no, they weren't. i don't know where did u find that information, but it's ..i don't know.. bullshit?

@gaggianese27 These people are put there for voicing their oppinion
MrSuikerpinda 1 year ago
@MrSuikerpinda this might sound provoking, but what is the difference in epistemological terms with the Assange case? And what about bombing countries and killing hundreds of thousands people that hadn't even expressed any opinion? Am I taking this too further, or instead they are all sides of the same shit?
lucapaolo 1 year ago
@lucapaolo There's certainly a difference in degrees of totalitarianism, but - yes - the core problem is the same in the US, Europe, China, and North Korea. It's the problem of a group of elites who, by whatever means, kill and enslave the common people for their own personal gain. Whether that is execs at Disney, Exxon, or Pfizer, the president of the US, or Batshit Crazy Kim. That said, Assange ain't in a concentration camp, nor is he likely to be, so the comparison is pretty uncalled for...

how that video was took and how it exit n korea?
donhenri01 2 years ago
It is disgusting the atrocities that a country can do to its own people like this, just for little things that they determine as "crimes"
Rockjaw3 2 years ago
It's funny to watch you people bicker about human rights, then attempt to equivocate by making stupid comparisons.

Max20854 3 years ago
"Barbaric Muslims"? I think that's a bit of a generalisation. There are minorities of "barbaric" extremists in a lot of religions, but that doesn't mean everybody is; I'd say that Islam heavily promotes its followers to avoid sin and crime just as much as many other mainstream religions. Evidently someone or something has caused you to hold a very slanted view of world affairs.

Most Muslims are barbaric.Even those that come out and "condemn" the acts of violence secretly agree with the so-called extremists and in my view they're as bad if not worse than the perpetrators of violence because at least the militants practice and preach the same bullshit!
mickeymirrorz 3 years ago
and most christians are as barbaric, following your retarded logic.

And lets not forget about the CIA's secret prisons and black sites, which are even worse.
raist2 4 years ago
You're kidding right? I'd take a secret CIA prison over North Korea's notorious concentration camps any day of the week. Having dogs growl at me and being stripped naked and humiliated is nothing compared to gas chambers, executions, starvation, frostbite, and imprisonment of 3 generations. Guantanamo Bay is like high school compared to Yodok.
korngirl95616 3 years ago 54
@korngirl95616 And you have to think, men, that there are people that believe that in NorthCorea there is freedom. Sorry for my english, i'm not english.
SpecularGta4 1 year ago
@SpecularGta4 oh, and there are even those who believe there is freedom in the US.. incredible, isn't it?
lucapaolo 1 year ago
@lucapaolo I think no. So i'll propose you this: you go on U.S.A. and try to shout: Obama sucks.
Then you go in North Corea and you shout: Kim sucks!
Then you can surely say in which place there is more freedom, ok? ;)
SpecularGta4 1 year ago 5
@SpecularGta4 WELL SAID! lol
