  • Ok, you do all realize that PMU was banned a few years ago right? So all the anger and yelling is pointless now. The practice had already stopped. People that cared enough made a difference and stopped it. Thats awesome. So now instead of yelling and griping at each other here, how about you turn your attention to another worthy cause and make a difference for more animals that are suffering from other abuse. You have already proven that you can make a difference, so go help more animals!!!!!!!!

  • @erintubb It was not banned everywhere - this industry is still alive here in Manitoba and also in North Dakota.

  • how can u say "wats some horses compared to a person" U ARE PETHETIC AND SICK!! why the HELL do people think that they have more right to be on this planet than other animals??!!! It is compleate CRAP n makes me furious!! lots of animals came before us an we have less right to life. Jus look at the pain we cause and how much we seem to wanna ruin the hole planet. horses have more right than the people who take this drug knowin full well how it is made. Theres other meds. better ways stop this !!

  • GREAT JOB RESCUING HER. I WOULD NEVER TAKE PREMARIN BECAUSE OF HOW THEY TREAT THEIR ANIMALS. THERE ARE NATURAL ESTROGENS!! FROM PLANTS. WISH WYETH WOULD GO UNDER !!! WHY MAKE ANIMALS SUFFER FOR A PERSON TO NOT HAVE HOT FLASHES!! I AM SURE GOD DID NOT PUT HORSES ON EARTH FOR THAT. ONE GOOD THING, AT LEAST LATELY ALOT OF BAD RESULTS FROM TAKING THE PREMARIN MEDS!!

  • @horsepoorwilson My former gyn wrote me a scrip for Premarin and I told her I wouldn't take it. I did some research and found a synthetic estrogen called Cenestin. It works very well and doesn't involve the cruelty that Premarin does. If you want to make a difference, ask your doctor for Cenestin. More doctors are becoming aware that not all patients want Premarin.

  • ok i officialy hate t hose people

  • omg! thunder is adorable

  • I'm going through menopause right now. I wouldn't dream taking meds for it. Women shouldn't make such a fuzz out of something that is totally natural.

  • This is horible! Is this the only brand of Hormonal therapy that uses this method??????

  • The first horse I adopted from a PMU rescue WAS a PMU baby! He is now 4 years old. PLEASE! I got through memopause WITHOUT drugs!!! And, there was NO WAY I would have taken Premarin! NO WAY! Simpig...horses are incredibly intelligent and intuitive creatures. Have YOU seen the videos of how the mares are kept in the dark for 11 months, in freezing temps? If you had a heart (and brain), you wouldn't be so flippant.

  • Your facilities does not seem fit for horse owning. Your mare is filthy, in high mud in almost every picture. Your barn, as natural of a habitat as it may seem, is most likely nowhere near as nice as the huge free roaming pastures she had at the PMU facility. You have a lot to learn about PMU.

  • I agree the boarding facility I had Feather at in the beginning was substandard. They were the only place who would take a PMU on short notice. If you look at the next video, you will see that they were moved to a boarding facility that was appropriate, clean, and LOTS of grassy pasture to roam in.

Thank you for your professional opinions *smile*

  • To simpig25:

How would you like to be treadt the way these horses are treated? Horses have feelings, and emotions JUST LIKE US!!!

  • Do any of you ever think about the medical uses in all this? What's some horse compared to a living human being.

  • The thing is...there are other ways to provide menopausal women with the hormones they need that don't involve animal abuse. Yes I have thought about it and think feeding pregnant mare urine to women is a huge step backward to the dark ages medically.

  • dont forget there is a plant alternative and a synthetic alternative which does EXACTLY the same thing.

  • simpig25- you are disgusting.

  • What is your life worth compaired to many animals? For me you're nothing. I'd save ANY horse over you.

  • What are you compared to so many animals/horses that have to suffer? I don't care about you for a second, I won't lose any sleep when you die. I'd save ANY horse over you. Does that answer your question?

  • u picked the right name for your self, Sim"pig"25, ..................

PMU farms is abuse, disgusting & volatile, and there

is no good coming from it. God forgive you

for being so minuscule in heart & soul

  • my horse was a PMU baby and he's such a good boy :)

  • a lot of people don't know wat horses biggest predator is- humans. they're the most worse predator in the world

  • Wonderful that you rescued her and what a beautiful little foal!

  • what a beautiful baby and to think if u didnt adopt the mare he wuld have been sent to slaughter!

  • that horse arrived there on my birthday! -january 20

  • It's just not American to allow this pmu stuff to be done to horses

  • It really made me wonder just HOW desperate Feather's plight really was...or if it was just a ploy.

It's really no surprise that Lazy Horse Rescue is in the final throes of closing down. Karma does have a way of working things out.

If you want to save a PMU Mare, my suggestion would be to purchase one directly from an auction if there is ANY chance you might fall on hard times financially.

I will leave the videos up as I know there is a real need of the PMUs for rescue...

  • (PART 1)Unfortunately, we have fallen on very difficult times with unexpected huge bills and according to the contract I had with Lazy Horse Acres, told G. I had to return them. It's been pretty much hell since then with poor Thunder receiving his first abuse from the haulers G. approved, and arrived at Lazy Horse Acres bloody and completely terrified. I have been made to look like a person who doesn't care about the welfare of the horses on her web site and that's just not true!

  • God bless you for saving these beautiful animals, from the abuse, far worse than death, that these glorious, unconditionally loving animals...who, let us NOT FORGET...made the founding of our country...being the primary mode of local transport until the early 1900's. This should not be how they are repaid. The more I learn about PMU farm, the sicker it makes me. In Sept. of '08,I will buying a PMU foal in Canada with a concerned group..all going for that reason. All the Best. Thank you!

  • love the song and im 11 that is kind of wierd

  • aw...he made me cry!! what a lucky little boy, i wish their were more ppl like me and you who love horses and want to save them!! kudos to you!!

  • beautiful horse

  • May God bless you. It's wonderful to know there are people like you in the world!

  • What does PMU mean?

  • did you watch the clip? It explains what it is.

  • Will the foal ever be rode? Or the mare? only wondering, both are very sweet, they're lucky to have a loving home.

  • Cute foal!

  • i applaud you for what you've done. beautiful horses. it's a shame that there are so many unwanted horses caused by people just to make money. i wish there was more people like you.

  • This is just wonderful about your PMU mare.AND THUNDER, of course! What a beauty. I have recently started a rescue called "The International Blessed Broodmare Project", where a bunch of us got together and rescued 20 PMU colts off a feedlot in Canada and now recently a BIG group of pregnant PMU mares. Please go see my slide show" Indigo Blue's video about himself". These PMU horses are so special.

  • I find this very funny.....

My mare that I rescued from a sanctuary for abused horses had her foal on March 8 2007

  • I'm adopting a PMU foal in early 20008. I'm so excited...

  • What a pretty little spotted draft baby! These rescues are great! I have Nugget, and he was also a by product. That could have ended up as a pony skin coat or wallet. Way to go girl! My Nugget like your Thunder and Feather, will never be sold and will live out his life here with me. WAY TO GO!!!!

  • Thank you for saving them & doing so much to make people aware.

  • What a sweet surprise, what a gorgeous foal. I would really love to have a "paint". :)

  • Thank you for the wonderful comments :) Thunder is a month old now and he's really something! Super friendly and very independent-gives his mom the fits sometimes LOL. I'll have to make another video to share and keep you updated :)

  • Thunder totally struck my heart. Thank God for them both and for you Shahndel. What a great chance In life you have givin them. Thank You

  • Good video.Thankyou Shahndel for your kind heart. Horses suffer so much because of human greed and ignorance. I am very grateful for people like you. Thunder and Feather are lovely.
