From a 1968 graduate of Ann Arbor High School (wasn't called "Pioneer High School" then!): Wonderful job! Best wishes to all Pioneers from this 1972 The Ohio State University grad! (...and I realize I say that with great risk...)
u guys should check out United Township High School's Marching Band... pretty awesome, they work extremely hard, and compete, not to say that this isn't tuff, just saying, and awesome show by the way
With that in mind, I would like you to see some videos of our band, the channel is called wdjdb or can search for LHS Marching band...we will be in blue and white colors...like I said, I liked the lock-step marching...our band is based on tradition...high-step marching constantly and all brass...
Thanks for the interest - yes, we are from Michigan, right across from Michigan Stadium. We are all musicians (the Symphony Band and the Marching Band are the same thing, just in different uniforms), but we do not compete in any competitions. We just have a marching band for the spirit and fun of having a high school marching band. I encourage you to check out videos of our drumline, which you can find under the account of my percussionist friend, ericyams11. I'll check out some of your videos.
I'm guessing because of Ann Arbor, your from Michigan...anyways...I am in the LHS or Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band from Ellwood City, PA...I like the lock-step marching...our band does only high-step marching...the entire time we play on the field and off, which means high-step marching while playing music. We consist of only 60 actually musicians, but are all brass...we are mostly noted as the "Blue Band" for Penn State Marching Band design uniforms, but have the sound of Ohio State.
@tmad40blue actually its not impossible try to do lock step playing and moving double time thats hard but it can be done if your band is actually good
@JesusFreakrkn If by "actually good" you mean we've won 6 grammys and twice been name the top high school music program in the nation, then i guess you're right
Hahaha, the running around before a song. Happens every year :D
Love it! Even though I am a CHS student, my home school would've been Pihi! But I got into CHS. . . They have a frakin halloween ball!

It would be even more awesome if teh music AND the-high step was combined. Oh well.
I do much favor the style. I am envious.
