I'm a high school student in michigan. In lansing actually. Synder's cuts have gotten more than 50 teachers / staff cut from my district. At least 10 people, good ass teachers, have lost their job completely. It's bull shit.

@nurm69 charter schools cost around 40% less then public schools with much higher graduation rates and with a higher GPA per student. And they turn a profit so the growth of students in charter schools will increase the amount of charter schools. Plus the teachers bring home more money each year even though the public school teachers get paid more but there unions help lighten there check.

Less then %50 of each dollar spent on students makes it to the individual schools. Creating jobs and unemployment to 20 weeks is great. However I will never support taking away from the children to give to big business. My dad worked as a Federal Worker for 37 years. He told me this has happened before. Many people have life insurance and they die fast in prison as given some work for trade. I think Cenk is wrong here. A tax credit is not a tax. It's conditional welfare money given by the government. For example, if you make the bare mimimum to pay taxes, and you have three kids, then you will get credits for your three kids. You will actually get back more money than you paid in taxes. A tax cut is when you pay less in taxes. Not when you get money by meeting government conditions.

it does help that china has almost no regulation, no worker protections, does have subsidies which unfortunately favor company over people, and cheap labour which is made worse as the gap between rich and poor there continue to increase and the gov lacks the drive to help the majority of its citizens despite all its money.

Of EVERYBODY I know, only ONE person with a "rich" status is actually hard working and deserving of his wage. @123trymeout increasing the income tax rate 3% for the top 1% won't affect "hiring" practices as that won't have anything to do with revenue. The money the rich make is profit. They STILL take the same amount home but lost an extra 3%. Besides, they gave the rich TAX CUTS and unemployment still went up so what does that tell you. The rich mostly make their money from investments like capital gains and dividends. Most of their money gets taxed at 15%. Warren Buffett pays a lower percentage in taxes than his secretary.

1. Get rid of all school boards.
2. Get parents involved in their kids lives OUTSIDE of schools.

@nurm69 charter schools cost around 40% less then public schools with much higher graduation rates and with a higher GPA per student. And they turn a profit so the growth of students in charter schools will increase the amount of charter schools. Plus the teachers bring home more money each year even though the public school teachers get paid more but there unions help lighten there check.

Less then %50 of each dollar spent on students makes it to the individual schools. He is not only giving bigger corporations a tax break but delegating the taxes he make off us, and when I say "us" I mean under middle class and schools, to those corporations. Which isn't fair. My dad worked as a Federal Worker for 37 years. He told me this has happened before. Many people have life insurance and they die fast in prison as given some work for trade. I think Cenk is wrong here. A tax credit is not a tax. It's conditional welfare money given by the government. For example, if you make the bare mimimum to pay taxes, and you have three kids, then you will get credits for your three kids. You will actually get back more money than you paid in taxes. A tax cut is when you pay less in taxes. Not when you get money by meeting government conditions.

Tax history in the US has proven companies are little affected by the ups and downs, and leave for china no matter what.
it does help that china has almost no regulation, no worker protections, does have subsidies which unfortunately favor company over people, and cheap labour which is made worse as the gap between rich and poor there continue to increase and the gov lacks the drive to help the majority of its citizens despite all its money.

Of EVERYBODY I know, only ONE person with a "rich" status is actually hard working and deserving of his wage. The rest are entitled and came from prior money that could send them to fancy daycare colleges. The "poor" people I know are far more often HARDER working than any "rich" person I know. Its rare I hear one of them "whine about everything." The rich do far more whining, actually.

@123trymeout increasing the income tax rate 3% for the top 1% won't affect "hiring" practices as that won't have anything to do with revenue. The money the rich make is profit. They STILL take the same amount home but lost an extra 3%. Besides, they gave the rich TAX CUTS and unemployment still went up so what does that tell you. The rich din't put any money into their businesses because they were given MONEY. They didn't need to figure a way to make money and they STILL let people go

It's about whether employees should be legally ALLOWED to get together to set contracts. Michael Moore's crew could go on collective strike at any time, he doesn't want laws to "enslave" them (which is the only real way of preventing union action anyway).
