  • Great playing

  • It is a blues song or trash?Fuck off

  • Brilliant. Nice guitar sound too.

  • Great job knowing the song, and playing. You definitely have the strength to play where it's needed yet some areas are to faced pace. I got a couple of SRV videos and their just a little more laid back in some areas, where SRV body english is really into it. Great props for owning your guitar playing though. You did great.

  • Siiiiick, guitar playing.....

  • sorry i don't speak a good english but in my opinion, you are very bes at the guitar. I'm a guitarist too an Im a looser behind you

  • cool!!!

  • Хорошая техника, но мало души в исполнении. В любом случае красавец, что играешь такие вещи.

  • is that srv signature stratocaster? :)

  • those look like 10's. u needa graduate to real strings bro

  • @iaedean Real strings? You know how retarded you sound? John Petrucci uses 9's

  • @tighttritenight and I play 13s you can't get a ringing tone from 9's

  • Damn man. This is great.

  • awesome dude!

  • Lol@ decaf....great guitarist man

  • you got some good skills but whats up with the rush?

  • Try decaf.

  • Could I ask you how long you were playing guitar when you made this??

  • SIIIIIIIIIIIICKKKKK!!! ILOVE IT

  • dude this is dirrrrrrty

  • Bravo, tu as le son de guitare de Stevie.

  • Whoever gave you 21 thumbs down are idiots. SRV never played a single song the same way, and if he did then I would shit my pants. This guy has got the right idea people. And who really gives tow fucks if this wasn't a SRV song, Buddy guy sure in the couldn't keep up to SRV.

  • It's not Stevie songs!!!!!..... MAN you don't RUN if you don't can WALK plis!!!...You play fast notes for not notice your mistakes...Stevie play more slow

  • nice cover. can you tell me whats the guitar you're using?

  • really good

  • Amazing!

  • THATS REAL GUITAR MANNNNN!!!!

  • i need a towel.

  • this was too much for me.....mega

  • Wher did you learn the " ending song scale" and how do u play it? By the way great tone and cover.

  • MEN YOU MAKE ME SMILE

    AWSOME!

  • I am picky as hell, but i have no idea what the other kids are talking about. It was played perfect, havent seen btr besides from buddy and srv themselves.

you ppl gotta remember, hes doing this without a backing track or a band or anything

  • were you in a rush when recording it ? :-)

  • HA HA! raging playing, damn near the man himself.

  • bud its not stevies song..

  • I know. Its Buddy Guy's. But Stevie plays it a bit different. I'm playing it how Stevie would.

  • @joestickpie

    It's not Buddy's either

    it is a child's song

  • wtf did u do? smoke crack right before recording? :P

  • Not bad! notes are correct, but you have to improve your touch!! this song needs a soft touch, such as stevie's ! :-)

  • might wanna slow down on the improvised parts... otherwise the tempo chance is a bit akward... unless you like doin that lol

  • you got uniway-b or octavia?

  • WOW!!!!

  • I bet you did a bump right before you filmed this.

  • Hope you're out playing somewhere and not just making Youtube videos in your bedroom.

  • Dude, I've said it before and I'll say it again.....you are an absolute freak of nature.

  • i cant play the riff at 0:27 no matter how hard i try tips?

  • thats one of stevies really fast licks, and the thing to do is play it really slow, because his fast licks tend to have odd phrasing, so work on that and youll find yourself progressing quickly through it. and of course practice practice haha.

  • Well to learn any lick its good to play it as slow as necessary to play it 100% right.. And if you keep doing that the speed will improve

  • to bad u speed it up the video i can see that

  • /watch?v=e0dAAyOfYN0

check this guy, he did an awesome cover.

  • tell me that you are 225 years old and that you've been practicing for at least 215 years...

  • awesome

  • WE ARE NOT WORTHY, WE ARE NOT WORTHY!

  • what i find amazing is how come while u have such great and flawless technique ur vibrato is alot less controlled in comparison?

i mean u must have put in the hours to get to this level but never worked as hard on ur vibrato?

  • Reminds me of the Buddy Guy versions a little.

  • dude u have stevie's tone pretty close on this one and wat kinda guitar is that because i dont think it's a strat the inlay and the head stock and i think even the pickups are different

  • its a fender strat lol. he probably just put a new neck in. its a standard strat but heavily modified

  • fantastic dude!

  • the riff at :33 is so amazing

  • dude you're fucking insane that tone is mind blowing

  • OMG ur fucking insane... I cant belive it !!

  • To words for you...

    Sweet jesus.

    *****

  • dude, you're a great player... rock on bro

  • this is awesome... i love southern rock

  • oh fuck... its great xD

  • You got a lot of nerve posting this crap you hack! AHAHA just kidding Dude... that freakin ROCKED!! Great tone and amazing fingure control!! I just love You tube cause no matter how awesome you are there's always one freakin ahole putting you down (20first...) and it's usually somebody with no videos uploaded! You need to do tutorials!

  • dude srv would be proud thats all i gotta say, you rock

  • Dude that was awesome! What amp are you playing through? How long have you been playing for?

  • wow, dude . . . . you've got some talent there, as Stevie was the one who carried it on from Jimi, who is going to be the next person to carry it on from Stevie?

  • Your doing it a little too fast mate, consequently your not in the groove and rushing a few of the licks. Not bad though.

  • wow!!!!!

  • excellent job... I had to stop myself from applauding in my loungeroom :)

  • You can fuckin shred dude props...

  • killer tone

  • srv was the greatest white blues god of all time,in my book. Not only his style but the way he could pull you into the song. You can do it,you have the ability. But slow down for the real feeling.I'm not ragin on you man.I wish I had your problems.amazin

  • In my opinion Rory Gallagher was. Did you ever hear of him hes realy good! Btw im not tryna argue wit you k?

  • Rory Gallagher?

Not really and not even close.

Don't get me wrong I am a great fan of him, but Stevie is the ultimate white blues guitar god of all time. A huge fact, like it or not.

  • In my opinion its rory, different opinions i guess

  • wow nice job. what kind of pickups?

  • Holy shit. Awesome

  • nice crosses on the neck and awesome

  • holy shit that was epic

  • great job man great job!! jus slow it dwn a lil but still a great fucking job!!!

  • Amazing. ;)

  • sick great, holy shit dude

  • it's good but too fast for my taste

  • yh... ur right, he is playing a little fast

  • ridiculous. i just started learning this song today and i cant find any you tube videos that are like "how too play..." you should post a tutorial thing

  • Great tone man, you nailed it!

  • rock on thats tight

  • Ya know wut.....you don't give ur string gauges or wut type? Do you use 13's like SRV did?? Amazing tone!!! Pick up types???

  • srv used 11 and 12 not 13

  • actually he put as high as a 15 on the high e string at times

  • nice fuckin cover, bro

  • Awesome good! This is the famous style of SRV. Really good!

  • THE LEGEND LIVES!!!

  • incredible.

  • holy

    fuck

    dude

  • great sound !

  • i guess stevie ray vaughan isnt dead after all

  • internse.

  • The whole neck was custom made for $400.

  • thats not too bad, where'd you get it done?

  • guitar center?

  • no not guitar center thats a warmoth neck

  • They arnt prs bird inlays. They are crosses...

  • Love the tone man, Great job, really great attack of the strings.

I just posted my version with a lot more Hendrix gain, please tell me your thoughts. Love this clip.

  • YOU HAVE A NEW SUBSCRIBER!

Men you've got a real talent, you know that? of corse you know.

I love Stevie Ray Vaughan, and this is a excelent rendition:)

    thank you for posting this.

    Rock on!

    cheers

  • you nailed it

  • awesome

  • nice solo and everything!!!! how many hours a day do you practice?

  • I don't really practice blues stuff much more, I'll just play around for maybe 10-45min a day. I try to look at tough jazz charts at least 15 min a day though, but I rarely do. I'm trying to do more of that.

  • Wow thats good! I play for atleast 2 hours a day and im NO WHERE near what you pulled off...that was good crazy! Ive only been playing for 2 years and no one around me knows how to teach country. I LOVE classic rock and rock but i love country more....thanks for this awesome exciment

  • Impressive!

  • Nice cover!

I was wondering how long have you been playing? and did you have lessons?

I've been playing everyday for about 2 years and I feel I'm not gettin anywhere fast...

  • sweet all around .. tone ,feel ,attack , licks ... excellent cover!

  • Caralho!!! uauuu.

  • Jesus! total awsome!

  • Great!

  • that was sweet man!!

  • I listen and play a lot (every day) blues&rock music, especially SRV,and it really takes a lot to nail it down this SRV licks, trust me.I've been playing for 1 and a half year and there a couple stuff still nailing down, but for sure 90% of his playing and style I've grabed...

  • Cool man.You rock...I also agree on what you said...It trully needs a lot of listening and just a lot of practising and adventully it should come to you (if you have a good ear) to hear those even little things....

  • cool tone

  • Jaw dropping*

  • can you give me a hint, how i can play those fast licks as fast as you and stevie? i mean i play the guitar for like 15 years and still... i lack some speed and i do not know exactly how i should get it.

for the most part of the 15 years i played rhythm guitar and lately i get more and more into this kind of blues licks of SRV.

have you any hint for me? i mean you are great in this!

  • you need to learn alternate picking. it's the best technique for any kind of speed on guitar. up down up down. then everything will come a lot easier.

  • You just have to play a lot. I play all the time. While watching TV, Playing computer, ect. You just have to try to copy stuff, and play it a lot. and after copying stuff, you eventually branch off into your own stuff. Its the same thing that Stevie did with Hendrix. He copied all his licks, then it formed his own.

  • fuck the sound quality dude u r it!!!

  • awesome! :)

You really got that fast SRV-blueslicks!

Good job....but it would be much greater with better sound-quality ;)

  • excellent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i see lots of nice comments, and am not surprised to see allusions to negative ones as well. imho, anyone who says this is missing anything's got their heads up their arses. i think this was great, dude. $.02

  • Good job dude!..sounds great!

  • Its always the same with EVERY homemade music video posted on YouTube. Theres always some would-be virtuoso criticizing someones effort. 'It was too this', 'It was too that' 'I was playing better than you after only 2 years' etc. etc.

If music to you is all about point scoring and personal ability then maybe you should take up a sport or something?

This guy plays it perfectly and good ability in blues guitar.

  • but booldawg, why do you think people upload videos of themselves playing guitar to youtube? To showcase their talent of course, so it's obvious people are going to give their opinions. In many ways it's like an online talent show, and in talent show's you rate the person and tell them what you thought was good or bad about the performance, why is that so hard to understand?

  • I'm actually quite glad I dont understand it.

  • Man I don't know what these guys are on about. I thought it was perfect!

    Keep playing!

  • there's something missing......I think you're trying a lil too hard, or too fast.

thers no soul to it, no feeling.

put some heart into what you feel;Love what you do.

  • Myt guitar playing has improved so much since I made this video, but I'm still getting crap for not having any soul... like a zillion comments worth. For a little more "soul" check out the video response.

But I'm currently working on a vid that will have enough soul to blow your socks off. So be patent.

  • nolan pls tell me wat guitar youve got cause i love that sound sounds just like stevie tell me pls thats kiks ass just slow her down

  • Wooo dude you need to slow this puppy way down, you played the soul right out of it.

  • nice

  • Fan fucken tastic ;) As if I've heard SRV.

  • you rigged up to a lonestar? sounds sweet. i got a fender deluxe reverb

  • Probably not the first nor the last to say this, but you played way too fast.. I liked the sound and you played it VERY good. Other than the fact that the song is played slower, playing slower also gives the notes you play more "power", and in musical terms I believe it's called "Staccato".

Other than that, keep playing. I wish I liked to play my guitar as much as I like music, but some things can't change tho I'll continue playing, only not too often.

  • staccato is playing notes choppy.

anywho, good stuff. good playing, nice smooth tone but like i said in the other video, seems like you are trying to impress here. im not saying theres no soul but it seems like you were trying to impress....well it does just so you know lol.

  • Loved it....But can you slow it down a little. Its not a race!

  • Another Nice Job Nolan,

better than playing a Gretsch. What kind of stupid lunkhead would want a Gretsch? A rugby player? Maybe.

  • I'm a good funk player so I am used to lining up my right hand, but for some reason this song is giving me trouble. I just can't seem to find the pocket. Thanks again

  • Did you ever think about changing your nick name Mr Bigsweatypenis?

  • Slow it down a little and put some real feeling into it and you've got something. You know what I mean? Really feel each phrase, each nuance, each note as if it was the last one you were ever going to play. As it stands now, you're a guy with lots of potential pounding out a lot of copy-cat notes with little rhythm and no feeling. Trust me, I've taught guitar for over 30 years and if I told you who I've played with you wouldn't believe me.

  • Excellente!

  • great improv even though you're not playing the exact lead ,sounds like Stevie RV

  • lol if only i could get the equipmnent to make that sound too -_- allthough id m=be wasted cause i suck lol.

  • Great playing man. When I'm half as good as you, I'll be satisfied.

  • glad to see that when his time unfortunatley came he was clean

  • fuck yeah

  • I think it's absolutely great but there's no need to play it that fast(you tend to demonstrate your skills too much, put the music first^^) ! Anyway awesome job man !!

  • I totally agree with this man. Speed isn't everything and can jeapordize a song. Unless you're malmsteen, then you just rock harderer than anyone. Ever.

Aside that, nice playing. But a bit to fast for it to sound any good.

  • and as for the fast playing, there is only me here. There is no band for me to leave space for, I gota/get to fill it all up. This was ment to portray my talent and licks too.

  • Dude!, you are obviously gifted, but what does your practice routine consist of? Do you do exercises, ear training, scales, or just mainly work on studying songs-or a little of everything. How long do you practice each day? I wish I had your hands- I'm, 29 and I have the hands of a 12 year old girl. I've had tendinitis for the last 3 years so I can't consitently practice every day. I am just now starting to get interested in getting the blues down (mainly a funk/rock player).

  • I just play a LOT. Its as simple as that. You get out of it what you put into it. Im sure you have heard that before, but its the truth. As for what I play? I learn theroy, (which I call work) and I doodle and play along with CDs (which I call play) I "Play" a LOT. I listen to a LOT of blues though. Whatever style you are trying to learn, listen to it. It really helps your playing somehow. Mainly SRV, but a lota Albert King, B.B. King, Boddy Guy, and a million others too.

  • yo sup i was just wondering what gauge of strings u use.

  • I have 3 guitars, so it varies greatly. But on my Fender Strat there, I have 0.11-0.56. NIce heavy strings give you a fat, heavy sound, very good for SRV.

  • yea i use 10's and their just not cutting it. I'm thinking up moving up to 11's

    Thanks man:)

  • sick shit dude

  • Damn, SON....Slow down. Thats talent damnit. Keep it up...U DA MAN !!

  • dude.. you fucking rock.. HOw long have you been playing? and.. Do you read notes like sheet music?

  • Not really, I read kinda slow, but I am learning to sight read faster. I have been playing for 6 years, lessons for 4.

  • good job man. excellent scaling. could you give some feedbak on my solo. type in"dirtyhillbilly" and find IMPOSSIBLE GUITAR SOLO

  • Man, your Stuff is really great!

Do you tell me, what Pickups you use in your Strat?

  • The ones that came with it! (Just your basic Fender Strat pickups.) The tone is great because of the Line 6 Pod in the back. Man, those things are unbeleaveable!!!

  • Hell yeah!!!
