  • @skullpeng :D

  • I love watching videos like these, because there are no random thumbed up comments.

  • Sounds irish and very peaceful ! (;

  • @TheKestral09 Think this sounds more Indian than Irish, just me.

  • @DynamixWarePro it's Irish

  • This is a masterpiece, EA / Maxis knew who they were looking for. Such a shame a lot of them don't see their musical output released elsewhere. I'd love to hear more from Walt, but unfortunately it's hard to come across. 1:57 is where the immersion and beauty come in.

  • low volume1:32

    high volume 1:34

  • 10/10 :)

  • ahh... peacefully...

  • 2:00 .

  • Anyone remember the zone Nagrand from World of Warcraft? This is fitting.

  • I love this music and this game. I had gotten really good at simcity but now I've decided to quit it and move on.

  • I haven't played this game in years but I'll inadvertently have songs from the soundtrack playing in my head from time to time. Sure enough, this song is the one that I remember most often. Reminds me of the transition from rural community to urban metropolis in some sort of Koyaanisqatsi-like scene. Simply brilliant.

  • RNGH, I love the ending so much. X3 from the violin playing so perfectly as it ascends in pitch... to the piano playing this beautiful little melody all by itself in like, an empty cathedral. :33 ~breathtaken!~

  • They used this in japan because they had a floating population. ;)

  • This is incredible, to me it feels like im back in time at a REAL music concert but then there is a modern twist.

It is so inspiring to me, hopefully one day I can be part of creating music half as awsome as this!

  • Reminds me of Red Dead Redemption.

  • agree

  • sooo relexing

  • i take it back on the other song,,,this is my favorit song of the soundtrack of simcity 4 lol,,,the other one is my 2th favorite

  • 100 likes 0 dislikes

  • reminds me of Ireland

  • This song reminds so much of Simcity 3000!

  • You do realize they would have to license it to play it there.

  • Love it!

  • Best song ever! Could you please post a download link?? That would be AWESOME!

    Thanks...!

  • First few seconds of piano makes me think of 'Still Alive' for Mirror's Edge.

  • gotta love that piano outro.........

  • the first 15 seconds makes me think of the classic Metroid introduction...anyone else?

  • Who else agrees that this song's name is pure awesomenity?!

  • Good For My Peppersvile

  • ahhhh so good n.n

  • Mon morceau préféré du jeu.

C'est lorsque ce morceau est joué que j'arrête de construire et que je contemple mes villes.

  • I just love the piano in the end! Of course the whole song is brilliant!

  • reminnds me of ireland

  • @skullpeng I wish i could tell them, " Your Fired"!!!!

  • I love this song SOOOOOOOOOOOO much I wished that my Mac wasn't reformatted (Yes, I play SC4 Deluxe in my Mac)

  • @pepe3w w w w.last.fm/music/Various+Artists/SimCity+4+Rush+Hour+Soundtrack

Alli tienen los artistas de Sim City 4

  • @mdavidandres

Gracias. He visto que en EA tambien los mencionan.

  • Man, people are so immature, you don't need drugs to get high. All you gotta do is listen to this type of music and you are gone out of this earth.... at least for a couple of minutes... and by the time you come back, I swear man, you'll see things in a different way. Best of all, one benefits rather than causing harm to one's self. Amen!

  • makes me remember how in simcity 3000 i really hated mortimer green but once i started playing more and more, i realised his advice was essential and started to love him more and more

  • best song of a perfect, if not best soundtrack ever

  • so is there really a name for this song i'm not sure why but i love it soo freakin much!!!!!

  • too bad that not all tracks posted here are in game :F there are saved in games files if someone wants to know :D this should be in retail stores as SMCTY OST :D

  • one time I was on a 5 hour train ride and when I listen to this song and see the lush green forest moving fast and as you look further it slows down you feel that time has went to a halt....

  • my favourite part is at 3:44, it reminds me of the song they would play in a film on the irish famine..millions leaving for america in a ship and at that point one man takes his last look to see ireland for his last time!

  • Simply beautiful! I love Sim city 4 soundtrack it delivers lots of emotions.

  • I like 0:30

  • I like 0:40

  • I'm telling you now, if you drive around in your car with this, you do not crash ever.

  • are you sure?

  • I love this song! It reminds me of Nova Scotia Canada LOL

  • Awesome soundtrack!

  • just found my favorite song

    love it

  • Me too, now I can chilax for a second.

  • I love the introduction with the piano - you feel a bit alone -- and you hear that jolly violin and everything seems to get better. :)

  • my favorite part is at 4:50

  • The best part is the ending. I wish there was an entire song that sounded like the last 15 seconds.

  • i totally agree with you its the best part of the song

  • @skykid /watch?v=5kWo8N4QNXM

  • when it starts its sounds like 9 start of the trailer

  • masterpiece

  • 1. This song sounds like a song they would play on the weather channel.

    2. Your right! Simcity 4 msuic has been getting big. In a documentary they played a song from the soundtrack, I cant remember which song but it was about people blowing old military ships up to create artifical reefs

  • ive heard this song in many commercials...i jus cant remember wat the cammercials were advirtising

  • the only song i let play in the game

  • this is the theme song of amarillo texas

  • My favorite song from Sim City 4... I would sit back and watch all the people and listen to this song... with my budget adviser screaming at me at the bottom of the screen. XD

  • I can usually calm my Budget woman down, but that damn Health & Education lady would start screaming if the funding for whatever clinic wasn't through the roof.

  • @IVIoI3iuS Id do the same exept Id be watching the Trains!!!! For some reason this goes well like that.(XD

  • @IVIoI3iuS Fucking bitch!

  • This track is amazing

  • i hope that if a so-called Sim City 5 is in the works, that it will be made both for the consoles, as well as the computer. It would make a great ps3 or wii game, xbox 360 too maybe.

  • 2 things are certain, will wright has walked away from the making of sim city, and the series has never been the same :(

  • hopefully, cities xl is good, but it's nothing like a SimCity---SimCity 4 in particular

  • I hope they make a Sim City 5!

  • 10 months later: what there's no Sim City 5!!!

  • The majority of the human race is to stupid to enjoy a gaming gem like sim city 4. EA might someday release sim city 5 but you must wait until EA releases the sims 5 and battlefield bad company 6.

  • Chill dude...look i love Sim City Series. And yes you're right, make a game like this took much time to do...I'm saying that the Sim City Series went down after SC4, but I guess EA it's about to release SC5 someday...or with another name.

  • @GodBlessedVideo they did and it sucks

  • @digitalicful I wasn't refering to Societies, I'm talking that someday in the future, they'll probably release Sim City 5, the true successor to SC4

  • i picture a farm at work in the country side everytime i hear this song...

    great song!!

  • wenn ich dieses music anhöre und dann auch noch solospiel kommt, dann habe ich überall gänse haut.

  • Ive been lessening to SimCity 4 music on iTunes for the past week and im still lessening and still love the music. The music is so powerful and moving, love it! I hope Jermy Martin (The composer of sim city 3000 & 4) does the score for SimCity 5.

  • There are several people who have worked on the music of sim city 4. I know of these: Walt Szalva, Andy Brick, The Humble Brothers and Edwin Dolinski

  • Reminds me of plains me tons of field and a combine too.Like a wheat field and stuff, With red barns and silos.

  • idk. but sound bit emotional.

  • Dont know why but i would love to be in front of my friends in a pub an play the violin like this. Jus to see them slack jawed an in awe lol. Perhaps its bigheaded lol, but it would feel so class if i could lol,

  • lmao comment too funny

  • I'd also like to add that I actually didn't "find" the scales. It had an Eastern Vibe all along. But I got the proof.

Again I do respect others peoples opinions. And I can still imagine a small Texan town. The power of imagination baby! : P

    That is all. lol

  • i would like to play this infront of a football match, along with the Top Gun Anthem

  • BTW people not too get too technical but I tried creating a song inspired by this and found that about 70% of the scales that this song relates too are Eastern based. Like the Ethiopian Scale, Augmented 5th Scale, Spanish 8 Tone, etc.

So, "Texan" isn't correct. Though it does still represent a small town feel. And I do respect other people have different opinions but when I think of the small town to this, I think more of a Small Town in the Eastern World since the scale feels too me that way.

  • The ending is really the best, earlier I said I felt the song represented a small tower, but at the ending I see a view of a large city from the suburbs (a city such as Dallas, TX) during sunset :)

  • i love this one. it reminds me of a rainy day at an Irish Pub for some reason.

  • This one reminds me of some small Texan Town.

  • wow, ur right! I can't believe i never noticed that.

  • yeah, and once again, you can kind of guess what theme the songmakers were going with this based on the title. Floating population...sounds like some kind of free people, independent of the rest of the world. and in many ways a small texan town represents that. personally this one sounds like the music to a travel commercial for some european city, like berlin or paris

  • I love this song. It's got this emotional feel to it. it's depressing but yet enlightening. It reminds me that though the chances of us being alone in the universe are slim, we just might be. Depending on what mood I am in, sometimes I think the opposite of that.

Regardless it's a very well composed song. Thanks for uploading it. 5/5

  • @Nein1no This is the audible intelligence stream, like the big bang background radiation. This song is so full, yet so alone, as are we.
