If scientists are smart enough to build a robotic arm, then they're smart enough to find a way to test it, without oppressing animals. I disagree with your statement. For well over a hundred years, animal experimentation has been done to advance science and further the human race. At no point during this time has a more effective solution been found. In the mean time, we have gone to the Moon, invented computers, and now we have created robot monkeys.

the monkeys skull wasn't copped off; they inserted electrodes (microns thin) into it's motor cortex. It would look as though it has acupuncture needles (but smaller) in it's head, and it's blocked off so people (i.e. you) don't freak out. Experimental chimps are extremely expensive (upwards of hundreds of thousands of dollars), and therefore are treated w/ the best of care. So before you go on bashing ground-breaking experiments, perhaps you should do prior research.
