this bridge was a waiste of money... the arkansas government spent millions and millions of dollars on this bridge, when the Pulaski County jail is so over crowded. Now the Sheriff's Office cant even afford gas for the deputies
I don't think the bridge was a waste of money. I think large numbers of people will be enjoying it for years to come. However, I don't doubt that there are many other projects that desperately need funding, including Pulaski County Jail. Perhaps the money should have been spent elsewhere. I can understand your frustration.
The lighting is amazing. Go see it at night. And will the junction bridge also be lit by the smae company? Where's all the neon in LR like you see in Shreveport? Someone need to revive the ducks on the Peabody. They keep going out.
This bridge was completed in 2006. It is supposed to be the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. It is built over Murray Lock and Dam and connects biking trails on each side of the river. What's your interest in bridges? Are you an engineer or just an enthusiast? -Wendy

Some view! Love bridges, when was this bridge up? How did it come about? Just curious, from Scandinavia.
