You talk about "reaching the mainstream" as though thats something good. Fucking wack and thats the attitude westwood has given to UK heads about music,....the fucked up notion that if you get into the mainstream you've "made it"....real heads, and I mean REAL as fuck music heads want to stay mad underground because thats where the real shit is. As soon as you hit mainstream you have to start conforming to what labels want. Thats fucking wack. Underground heads say what the fuck they want.

KRS was right. This was back in '97 around the time when Hip Hop was really selling out. Alot of what Westwood was playing was Pop Hip Hop - The Fugees, Puff Daddy, Mace, Lil Kim and all that shit. He wasn't playing enough undergroud Hip Hop.

Now don't get me wrong KRS is a ledgend in Hip-Hop but i hate the way he bigs himself up so much, In every interview he goes on about he is hip hop etc...
And here he is being a prick, Isn't it funny how he says maybe you should look at how ppl see you to make sure you stay on the top of your career . But now Westwood still has one of the highest rated shows on the Radio with platinum selling mixtapes while KRS1 struggles to Shift more than 30,000 units when he brings out a new album

Look at the music in the charts - it sells really well, but is it good music? No. Rant over, all the good music is underground, all the commercial hop-pop is big - that's because most people are dumb & have no taste in music.

as an mc at that time myself and other uk artists didnt feel westwood was reppin 4 uk or worldwide real hip hop
i wouldn blame that fully on tim because was the game (hip - hop) was changing
but i did feel tim couldn done a bit more 4 real hardcore hip hopwhen he first moved to radio one from capital
