1982, Summer, cruising, Franklin Blvd, Sacramento, and this song blasting out of every parked lowrider. I wish I could go back in time and live it again! Thanks for posting
This song is like a fucking musical nuke explosion, u just want to be Dj in front of millions of people and play that track and watch them go fucking insane on the beat
Killer Joint. Heard it on the Chromeo Mix "Ce Soir On Danse", but it took me a moment to find out who the artist is.. Anyone know the name of the singer? I think I know his voice from a different band, but I can't remember exactly..
For sheer creativity the 1980's is the only decade that can match up to the 1960's. Truly a Brilliant decade where all types of music and film where imagined and eventually created.
I love the 1980's. I still think that some of the early tunes that came out of the beginning of the early 1980's are some of the best music ever made. The bass line is so good on this track, & so is the use of synthesiser and keyboards. I love the vocalist as well on this track. He has a real nice voice on this.
I have this on vinyl and cassette. Used to play it early in the morning in my car while going to work back in '83. ...over and over. Very strong lp. Three bass players are mentioned ...Tony Bridges, David Romani and Timmy Allen.
man I love this song, This is my favorite song now. and I absuloutly love the beat with it too. This song makes me think alot about the better things I can do with my life and accomplish, I love this song so much. This is the song I will be playing after bootcamp In A school when were allowed to bring our stuff to the navy. thanx so much for posting it.
Don't you remember...before the need to "represent"? Remember when there were "musicians"? Cruisin music! No lyrics about having to bust a cap off in somebody. No hoez or bytchez here! Wow!!!!this is possible? Real People singing and real music being played in real time. Guitarist Cheili Minucci was in the BBQ band when this was released. Oh...sorry Cheili is the guitarist from "Special EFX" ( a jazz-fushion) duo from the 80's too.
been waiting ages for someone to upload this thanks alot dude, always reminds me of playing furfighetrs on dc started really getting into this kind of music at the time, good memories :)
1 word: RAP! Not that it was bad from the word go, but nobody knew the beast it would become. No 2 reason, Gangsta Rap- NWA started the real downward spiral. You know the lowest common denomenator thing. Once $ got made it was over. So now, thanks to a generation of uncreative saps, the US music scene is now so booty and everything sounds the same- lame.
The EU is the new horizon. At least there you can still hear people sing. And new songs!
You know thats right! I heard an interview with Timmy Gatling one of the original members and founders of Guy and he said you can't get a record deal in this day and age unless the opening verse starts out with a rap lyric and he also went on to say at one time there were so many groups and individual artist out back in the day that you could not count them all,now you can then on one hand. Music died in all sectors after the millineum, rock, rap,r&b and country. Music is no longer an art form.
Ronpc, Even though I agree with you that music is no longer an art form, There ARE hundreds of groups and artists out nowadays. But the mainstream media won't let you know that most of them exist. I guess they feel that since we have the internet, we can find out about them ourselves.

vent my intelligent indignant act unto you my sick son of a bitch.
