sweet machine. 700 isnt bad. its still new imo lol. the quad i use at work just turned over 30k miles. its a 04 honda foreman 450S. ive always wondered how one of these diesels would hold up in the oilfield.
@petregeogian diesel trucks (pickups) have two batteries and are not 24V systems. They are 12V wired for more cranking power. It takes a lot more power to crank a big high compression diesel engine.
talk about hasel man id be scared to drive that with all the shit that could break and then i bet parts are extremely expensive and it probably weighs a good 500 pounds if not more
@jimmyhoffa9 haha yea okay except it isnt the same as any other car or motorcycle for starters its the only diesel quad thats from a half decent company how heavy do you honestly think that motor weighs compared to a regular 4stroke700 and how can you compare replacing a 4stroke to a diesel do some research dumb ass
@brandyn420420 yeah diesels are waaay heavier but diesels offer much higher economy and a diesel from a half decent company is no different from gas quad from a half decent company.
@jimmyhoffa9 look man i just fucking told you to go to some research on what your talking about because you clearly dont know go look up the differences between a diesel quad and a 4 stroke and stop replying once you figure it out
hey i know that all diesel trucks have two batteries cause the glow plugs and it takes more power to turn over the engine does the diesel quads have two batteries
@chriserater diesel trucks have two 12v batteries connected in series because they operate on 24 v , not because of the power needed to turn the engine..etc.On any vehicles that have greater curent consumers you only need a bigger battery .Take for example the diesel cars . If i didn't make myself clear enough, excuse my mistakes .I'm not a native english speaker.
i'm a diesel guy. are diesel quads any good? i would think they would be great, but everybody tells me otherwise. and is it hard to keep water out of the fuel system? i undersatnd having a fuel/water seperator, but what about when you drive through three feet of water? does it get in the fuel system?
@yako0000 I am a diesel guy too and I love this quad the engine is solid with a rebuild of 10000 hrs. Never had any problem with water in the fuel system it’s all sealed up only way in is through the fuel cap..
hey man just wonderin..i love the diesels think its really cool idea..but im jus wonderin hows the top speend and power compaired to other 700s that are gas ?
damn nice quad man i want one of theses so bad

I find the alternator is a little low in the machine. Especially going through deep mud and water.

so can you rag on these quads like a normal gas one and how are they out in the mud and snow
binderposter 9 months ago 2
@binderposter You can do anything you can with a gas it just doesn’t have the top speed most gas ATVs have, mine is excellent in the mud and snow.
