  • Why doesn't the slide deploy automatically.

  • @vincentgreene1987 you know how you said take your time well the airplane evacuation is surposed to be 80 to 99 seconds to evacuate so she has to be quick

  • I would not slide on that it looks to steep and looks so small so even fit a tall adult it looks like its going to break! LMAO

  • so sloww....

  • its so boooooring!

  • I will take my chances jumping since my Mother worked for McDonnell Douglas as a research scientist there. She said the plane is not that tall and it's better to jump.

  • this s a really really good clip

  • I'll take my chances jumping. If you jumped onto it you overestemate the distance and hit the ground anyway. Lol

  • I bet if they ever make a emergency landing somebody will either fall on the left side or right side off the slide. LOL. The most safest slide was on the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar

  • You's probably injure your buttocks by attempting a jump.

  • i don't care if the plane is gonna blow up, i'm NOT using that pidly little thing.

  • those doors look very heavy. haha

  • wow, looks so steep.. I bet if someone was to jump onto the slide and slide down, he'd reach the ground before his buttocks touches the slide..

  • I Agree, this slide sucks, and just jumping without using the slide is safer

  • It dosen't even look like a slide. It looks like a flimsy pool toy. Plus no raised edges so you'd probably fall off lol

  • wow that looks unsafe and dangerous...and md-80's suck anyway because they dont have any IFE (in-flight entertainment)

  • So!!!.The MD80 is a beaty of a bird.

  • Uhh.. I think I'd rather just squat down and hop off the plane than use that slide. If you were to jump out onto that you'd probably become more injured..

  • The A380 has wider doors and therefore more people can escape through the door.

  • Are you a moron? You can't compare an MD-80 to an A-380.

That's like saying "your bicycle sucks because my Hummer is better"

  • Well at least the A380 has really long and wide slides that actually extend in it dosen't touch the ground!

  • that looks dangerous

  • I KNOW! the other ones on the 747 look like fun!

  • that slide looks way too skinny and flat...

  • God you could just jump off and be better off than rideing the slide down. youll most likely break something on the slide and you can like... walk down and it would be safer

  • Better if you sit on the edge and use your arms to lower urself down

  • Thank god the aircrafts that I fly on are power assisted

  • yeh tha slide is realy thin aswell i work for excel airways nd the 737-800 doors are so much heavier to open when armed

  • i agree with bluetorch13 that slide is awfully steep.

  • It's okay guys...the flight attendant is there to push you out if you hesitate too long. ;)

  • OMG! you saw how steep that is? plus is going to bend a bit. I rather jump on the ground. lol MD-80 Sux

  • It's a cool video, but how come there is no sound? :S

  • ya i know

  • no i have not. I am sure if it was armed it would be harder to open though.

  • Well, let's hope neither of us have to open an armed door for real. ;)

  • At my airline we have MD88's those doors open quite easily though i tend to use to much power when opening or closing them

  • Have you had a chance to open the door with the slide armed? The attached slide can make the door weight quite a bit heavier and harder to open.

  • I adore the MD-80. Is it possible to get a private copy for personal use??

  • These in-then-out doors are cumbersome and dangerous without the power assist, and the manual inflation only further wastes precious seconds. I feel like these systems have come a long way.

  • I really wish Boeing would redesign the B737-NG doors to have a power-assist feature! There have been incidents, notably a Ryanair incident, where the cabin crew had difficulty opening the door with the slide pack attached as the weight is increased dramatically. I'm glad the B-777 and B-787 have new door designs though. ;)

  • this has to be my favourite. many thanks man!
