  • This video makes me tingle in a way that most action films are unable to achieve. Ryan Connolly and all of Truine Films, I see great things in your future. <3 Keep on making dreams come true.

    -Love Shane

  • shaky camera seemed a little excessive around 4:00, it was hard to follow the scene. otherwise, a really nice film

  • This video was perfect..Can I please ask what the soundtrack was?

  • bourne raborned

  • So, if the villain did not give him a safety-pin, and didn't take away the gun from the doorkeeper,... the hero could not have made it at all.....its a good film but the story could have been better...

  • Josh has come a long way as an actor.

  • sorry but this didnt looked like film. -_-

  • borrrrring and predictable! this type of movie is way over done...and all the guards look like dumb fucks just standing around lol...who does that?!?!?!

  • @dmpsodapop Their guards. Do you know what that means? They gaurd whatever they are supposed to be guarding which in this case is the building. Do you expect them to sit around and sing Kumbaya while an assassin is loose?

  • amazing I hope to make something this cool someday

  • I rly liked how the punches and stabbing sound effects werent eccesively loud like most movies but wer more realistic great job

  • awesome i love it

  • superb quality!

sound could be recorded with a better mic though :>

then it would be perfect :3

  • Riam and crew! You all did a fuckin good Job....I really want to see you doing it in hollywood!!!!..it'll be awesome!!!!!!!!

  • I like how you constantly cross the line ;D

  • Where did you guys find the sound effects for your punches and kicks?

  • This video is AWESOME !!!

  • why is there so much camera shaking in the table scene at the beginning?

  • you guys should make a sequel to this!

  • Outstanding work guys!

  • Omg i watch this like 10 times , love it .

ps -can you tell me what you think of my vidssss , Much appreciated .

  • that main guy reminds me of matthew fox lol

  • wow, that was one bad-ass short, he freakin killed a guy with a paperclip, so awesome!

  • I'm going to have to agree with 7tiempo7. Every shot being handheld was stressful on the eyes on my opinion. I was really hoping for a smooth dolly shots or some really cool birds eye view crane shots. Over all though, It was a fantastic short film!

  • Intense

  • Ryan u seem to impress more and more withe evrything you do! Keep up the awesome!!!!!

  • Pretty shaky... I almost got sea sick.

    I just love steadycam shots.

    Anyway, nice film.

  • in my opinion, a bit too much handheld!

  • @7tiempo7 The whole thing was handheld!

  • OMG AWSOME!

  • i wish i could afford a red epic,

  • thumbs up if you still are watching this in 2012

  • Where did you get your fight scene sound effects?

  • @BradleyNilsen they designed them on their own

  • holly... that was great !!!

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!!

  • Really great stuff.please check out our page and let us know what you think!

  • Did you have to pay for the soundtracks? Or was the soundtracks all homemade? Or was it all the hollywood soundtrack but since it's a short film they didn't charge you. I'm really curious and still don't know how it works.

  • Did you have to pay for the soundtracks? Or was the soundtracks all homemade? Or was it all the hollywood soundtrack but since it's a short film they didn't charge you. I'm really curious and still don't know how it works. I would really appreciate it.

  • Fucking good.

  • I have watched it a couple of times now, then I noticed the boss smoked an electric ciggarette. Am I right?

  • The fight scene was amazing!

  • at the end a car should have came by and he disappears

  • Hey Ryan could you do a video about making the music and/or fitting it into the time with the scenes? Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Love from your UK Buddy!

  • Love Film Riot guys! Great job!

  • AWESOMEE

  • Great movie! Definitely appreciate what you guys accomplished here, as I am a student film maker myself. One question though, where did you get your music from? It fit perfectly. Was it royalty free? Thanks!

  • Remeber guys. Take remove your jacket BEFORE you join a fight, and you will become almost unbeatable.

    Good short though :)

  • Awesome! what camera have you used for this? Beautiful clarity and it has the film look, do you have a tutorial on color correction to get the film look for different light settings? Thanks.

  • @bassivity The RED Epic. And thank you. :)

  • THIS VIDEO IS FULL OF WIN!!!

  • @MRudd1000 Thanks man!

  • use a tripod! cheap and efficient!

  • 5:26 nip slip

  • I actually had to hook this up to my tv as my pc only goes to 720p , Love your work guys cant wait for TELL

  • Goodbye Josh Connolly, hello Jason Bourne :)

  • Todd Bruno is a great actor

  • Had to stop at 1:08. I loves me the connoly boyees but i HATE shaky cam. Shaky cam is monkey-see monkey-do and it is idiotic. Why don't you just have the actors and the cameraman roll down a hill while filming? Very disappointing indeed. I counted the C boys as scholars of film. No true lover of the art form would dare stoop to such incredibly cheap tricks. Renounce your actions and return to the fold. I don't turn my back just yet but you guys are on probation.

  • @CptCryBaby So you are saying that Steven Spielberg, Paul Greengrass, Alfonso Cuarón and other greats directors are monkey-see monkey-do filmmakers? That's a bold and arrogant statement to make. Fact is that the use of shaky cam is a filmmaking technique, one used often to great effect. Just because it doesn't fit your taste doesn't mean that it is "idiotic"... It just isn't your taste. I on the other hand like it and plan to use it again in the future where it fits the project.

  • @filmriot wait you did that on purpose? I thought it was because it was handheld?

  • @filmriot Can you tell me what the "technique" accomplishes?

  • @CptCryBaby Watch the episodes about Losses, I've already covered all that. And again, if you don't know that already, why would you jump on a filmmaking page and make such a bold and harsh statement? In the future I'd say try constructive criticism and conversation. It is a lot more helpful to the video owner and makes for a more pleasant online community.

  • @filmriot understood.

  • great acting ...

  • You guys are so amazing. Your videos really inspire me, it really shows that true greatness in movies comes from ideas and techniques rather then a big budget.

  • What did you use to record the audio so well?

  • how many pages was the script??

  • I loved it, it was awesome, the only bit i'm a little bit confused about is the lacking of use of recoil when firing the guns, but that's just my opinion. Bravo otherwise! Like and Favorited.

  • That was greatly put together.

  • Great Job

  • Dear Filtiot,

I want to mak a video with a fightscene , maybe can you show us how, like you did in this video

    love your work

    keep going

  • @Carlocool1000 they already have :) check their channel

  • My question is how long did it take to rehearse the fight scenes. Absolutely amazing.

  • Nice job keep up the good work.

  • I have to say that the fight scene is practically perfect!! well done guys!!

  • freaking amazing do a tutorial on how you filmed and edited it please im begging you and where you get the music please i wanna know

    -theTradeOfficial Approved!

  • And where did u get the music please ANSWER!!!!

  • Whats the song called that was at the beginning

  • I can not understand something...

Why there's just 200,000 people who sees that?!

  • very good acting holy shit...

  • Losses. Is. Incredible. INCREDIBLE.

  • nice :)

  • wow wow wow wow wow i love it!!!! nice shaking camera and fight scenes!

  • Sweet! I really liked the cinematography although I did think that the color grading could have been a bit more harsh in the halls when Josh is walking to the office. Just my two cents though :)

  • thumbs up if you watched it in 240p!

  • 4:35 I was expecting Emily to appear with a flame thrower saying:

    -You lose, mutha f**ker!

    Flames

    End.

    :D

  • Beautiful

  • Amazing quality.

  • PERFECTION THATS ALL I CAN SAY I SWEAR 2 GOD YOU NEED TO JOIN A UNION OR WORK WITH SOME BIG MOVIE DIRECTORS LIKE MICHAEL BAY AND THE ACTORS WHERE GREAT!!!! i am showing this to my whole college for movie night so u guys get more views

  • Nice but the camera shaking are a pain to look at. Use a tripod! and if it was digitalised it just made it worse.

  • That was the best action since Bourne Ultimatum! Serously it was! Just wow!

  • *pounds fists against desk* Pre-quel! Pre-quel!

  • Loved the lighting and the things you set up. It's not easy to do things with such a limited timetable I know that for sure.

  • Hey guys, one question, where do you get this awesome music?

  • But it was 7 minutes...

  • HOW DID YOU MAKE THE END CREDITS???? TUTORIAL!!!

  • marvelous work!!! my gosh!!! is soo awesome!!! :O plz make a tutorial on how you film all this and the special affect you put in to it. plz plz plz thank you

  • really well done guys! just need to hit a compressor to control the dynamics in his acting to avoid peaking.

  • That was really epic and fantastic. I'm an action-filmmaker myself and I watched the BTS and everything you did and said was on point. Keep doing your thing and if you have a chance, check out our film, Bad To The Jones.

  • Good work, guys.

  • WOW!! Just Awesome!

  • you should make a part 2

  • You guys did an awesome job...sound, score, editing , the fight and gun sequences are top notch, the shots are on point. Acting is a bit flat in couple of spots but hey...I'm not perfect with my movies either. Bravo! You guys should really try to shoot a full length feature..I'll watch it. Keep them coming...One luv!

  • It was amazing! Just a little too shakey but nothing to be overworried about! Definitely better than some major films :)

  • GREAT work guys. Keep it up.

  • this is the best action short film on youtube

  • EVERYBODY that's in need of music... Try Mixcraft! Google it. Hope it helped

  • Mother of god! :O

  • As a viewer I will give a bit of critique in hopes it helps you on your journey. The auto-shake was a bit overdone. Make the shake a bit slower.

  • 69 dislikes vs nearly 7000 Likes. Maybe cos there are no naked scenes.

  • Yup...that was Epic!

  • is getting close to 200,000 views!

  • great job!

  • Congrats guys! Amazingly well done! Next stop...HOLLYWOOD baby!

  • from a technical aspect, it was great. however i found the story to be a bit boring.

  • WELL DONE GUYS!

  • is the first sequence shot in "day for night"? @filmriot

  • @smartkid4896 They said that the location they were filming at only let them film from 8:00pm to 11:00pm, so I would imagine not.

  • @AnimalCrossingFor3DS i meant the first shot- him in the trunk... you can see the sky is still blue...

  • @smartkid4896 Whenever I'm at my house and it's almost totally dark, the sky still looks blue, so again, I doubt he used that technique.

  • Comment removed

  • That was quite good, shakyness a but overdone but good. Keep the work up!

  • Just because you shake the camera a lot and cut every 5 seconds doesn't mean you've made a good action movie.

  • @misterkevinoh

why dont you try making one and then judge others.

  • @kryowar00 Yeah, I'm sorry, that was pretty rude. But I do feel that this action scene is very cliche.

  • @misterkevinoh : Well cliche or not... ! for a short film n to make one it is really a nice try, u really you have not seen bollywood i guess... u will get the idea of cliche :P

  • great story line. perfect. not to much talking.big plus! & yes better audio might trick it a bit better.

    thanks for sharing though.loved it!

  • Please check out this 17 minute long action movie I made recently with my friends, thanks be sure to subscribe as well I'll probably sub back. /watch?v=iXp4kmZbhIM

  • I loved it, story was great shots and vfx composition were amazing. However i think you need to work a little on audio production. Foley was great, but the scenes where the main guy was yelling had a lot of peaking, and therefore distortion. Simple compression would get rid of that, but what do I know. So yeah I LOVED it, but audio needed a little work. imo

  • awesome video, but i have to say that there was a little bit too much camera shake at some points... well at least from my point of view... otherwise it was awesome!

  • DAM OH MY GOD I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey everybody!
