@username0909 The only difference between American and European countries is that Americans are better at specialization than European countries and therefore, are more successful. Do we have a bunch of people who aren't good at geography or world affairs? Yes... but I could bet they know a hell of a lot more about construction than you do, or about building cars, or about running a business,... How important is it that a construction worker can locate France on a map? Pretty insignificant.

I think most people are followers that find comfort in the group. Their desire to fit in is greater than anything else. Even if they held beliefs, they wouldn't share them at the risk of being perceived as different. People are really too insecure to think for themselves.
