You're better off saving up and buying a new computer.

If you can't afford a new computer, save up and buy more RAM and replace your video card (do your research and make absolutely sure you're actually upgrading. GPU benchmarks are the only way to know with a degree of certainty.)

if your l4d lag i suggest you do this things "go options> then go video> then change widescreen to normal> then change your resolution 800x600 then click ok it should not lag after you do that
