Macs get viruses too. And as their market share increases, there is a higher percentage of malware for Mac every year. Funny how the main reason for that increase is Apple's marketing strategy, and how they always point out that "Macs don't get viruses". They do. If they didn't, there would be no such thing as Antivirus for Mac. If you look around, all major antivirus developers also distribute their products for Mac now.

Mac Defender is Malware, not a virus. In order to get your computer infected, you have to be stupid enough to enter your password and install it.

@CMI1986X64 that may be quite right. but for the person working with its computer, does that matter? compared to win pcs macs are still quite rare, and it doesnt seem that this will change in the next few years dramatically. so, no matter if mac os x is a more "secure" system than windows, the advantage is on the side of apple. why shouldnt they promote their machines with that feature?

Keyloggers aren't chips. they are software like viruses that track keypresses and or what goes to the OS's clipboard. OS's have keyloggers installed so they know what you are typing for any programme, a hacked keylogger just sends that info to someone else over the internet.

easy fix for that, don't use the internet

Mac's aren't compatible with anything including viruses LOL.

They don't even support there own software or any hardware that isn't purely from apple.

Mac's/OS look nice, Linux is free and has some funky graphic effects but seriously if you want to get anything done with minimal hassles use Windows.

people make viruses for there own gain mainly, but also piss others off, and companies hire hackers to hack into there software so they know where vulnerabilities lie
