I wonder if they ever considered the noise of the Chieftain engine before accepting the tank into service. A great way to give your position away to the enemy on a dark night in a German forest........
The British finally started to get it right with tanks again with the Centurion. The Conqueror was their response to the JS-3 & T-10 heavy tanks. The tank's short range for mileage and its weight were impediments. Quickly replaced by upgunned Centurions and the follow-on Chieftain.
@MBguy2008 Personally I'd have said that the Comet was the first of Britain's tanks that could realistically expect to take on the likes of the German Panther with a legitimate hope of success.
The Centurion was designed to take on the larger German tanks - the Tiger and Kingtiger for example and was the first British tank capable of taking on the post-war generation of Soviet tanks - which were themselves designed with the Tigers in mind.
im kinda shocked , thats a big tank the conquer and i thought it moves slow but surprisatly it moved kinda fast for an old tank

@F4Wildcat That's the Marksman AAA turret prototype on a Chieftain hull. Finland has some of these turrets (slightly modified) in use on T-55 hulls.
