What that assertion does is try to shunt any discussion of the issue, right or wrong we always have the right to ask the question. That COLB certificate was available to foreign born children and children born outside of hospitals. All it took to get one of them in 1961 was the assertion of one parent. A child born in the South Pole could have acquired one, it doesn't prove where he was born. We would like to see a proper birth certificate, what's the big deal? The COLB is generated from what the original form says. If the COLB says Obama was born in Honolulu, any original will also say Obama was born in Honolulu. The COLB is proof; it's prima facie evidence.

Hawaii went paperless in 2001. The only certificate they issue is the short form. All the information from the long form was entered into computers. This is a legal official birth certificate. Lou Dobbs is not perfect- but I still like him, and consider him to be an honest journalist with integrity. It's hard to accept there are 2 sides to every issue- but there is. "Media renders final verdict" - now that made me laugh! Thank goodness that the media don't get to render "verdicts" on such issues. Most of them still use COLB and BC interchangeably, "citizen" and "natural born citizen" interchangeably, don't understand the difference between primary and secondary proof, and can't read any of the statements made by Hawaii, Lingle, Factcheck, etc. properly. What a bunch of dopes! I'm no fan of Dobbs, but he's right on this one (and hasn't much company!)

I think Dobbs disagrees with Obama's policies deeply. I also think that this has caused him to be overly suspicious of everything the president does. If someone thinks he's socialist, fine. I disagree, but I can respect the validity of your argument. It just seems like he is grasping for straws on this one. Attack the man on policy all you want, but as a journalist, i think Dobbs cheapens himself by pursuing this. The state of Hawaii, and it's Republican Gov. says he was born there. Let it go.

I feel Obama was born in USA and this is just a small issue to get distracted over more important problems.
I'm sure people even believe Obama is a muslim, like it's a bad thing. I've met some very nice people who were muslim. Benjamin Franklin didn't even believe in religion and he was one of the founding fathers of the USA. I feel he could of been president, but he did more not being president.

The state of Hawaii under a Republican administration has verified his birth certificate. Hawaii does not issue a long form any longer and went paperless in 2001. If you requested a copy you would not get the long form. The birthers are nothing more than nut cases. They are dragging down the Republican party which is fine by me.

There is a procedure in place in Hawaii right now that allows for the release of a long form birth certificate. They didn't destroy the records when they went paperless, they are on file. Why can't we see that mutha fucker? What's the need for the secretiveness? Why is the specific birthplace and attending physician of the 44th President an official state secret? Got any guesses? I'm all ears. The only excuse I can think of is that he either wasn't born in Hawaii or he is a bastard.

Why are many in the GOP trying to distance themselves from these nut cases? Then they pass a resolution recognizing Obama as being born in Hawaii without one nay vote. They are playing the kooks for what it's worth but don't want to take any credit for them except for a couple of them like Michelle Bachman. She almost lost the election in MN last time. The next time she will be gone.

They read like talking points from Sean Hannity and Limbaugh. if the Gop had "lots of news and better Ideas" than they would have maintained the congressional majority, retained the White House, and would still have me as a loyal Republican voter. And speaking of recycled old stuff, the GOP tried massive tax cuts for the rich and we're still paying the price for.

Tax cuts work only if you can make budget cuts at the same time, which is what Reagan failed to do and was his biggest failure by his own admission. That failure lead to George HW Bush to break his promise of no new taxes and ultimately cost him the election. Second, those talking points were points that George W. Bush admitted to when discussing further tax cuts in his first administration as according to Sec. O'Neil. And as fo mistakes, can anybody recall the Iraq war and war on terror?

The tax cuts work in raising revenue. But you are right about the budgets being done as well. However Reagan wanted to cut the budget, but the Democrats in Congress would not let him. Remember they said his budgets were "DOA" - dead on arrival.
Neither the war was a mistake. Every war has it share of mistakes. The strategically both were absolutely necessary.

That COLB certificate was available to foreign born children and children born outside of hospitals. All it took to get one of them in 1961 was the assertion of one parent. A child born in the South Pole could have acquired one, it doesn't prove where he was born. We would like to see a proper birth certificate, what's the big deal? Orley Taitz has filed what she says is a Kenyan birth certificate issued for Obama in the 9th Circuit Federal Court, stay tuned! Somebody might be exposed soon!

The COLB is generated from what the original form says. If the COLB says Obama was born in Honolulu, any original will also say Obama was born in Honolulu. The COLB is proof; it's prima facie evidence.
But as for Ms. Taitz's latest thing, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Ms. "travel ban to Pakistan" Taitz still has credibility with you guys.
Protip: that doc claims to be from the "Republic of Kenya," but is dated months before the republic was formed.

They re attacking those people because the facts are easily available, and for LOU DOBBS to still not be certain of the certificate of live birth is real or not, how bout this Lou, how bout you do some investigating and put this issue to rest once and for all. Not true. On January 21st, 2009, his very first day in office, Barack Obama signed Executive Order 13489 sealing all birth and school records. No transparency there, or anywhere else in this administration.

Why couldn't his mother have put those announcements in the paper even if he wasn't born in the U.S.? Wouldn't she have wanted her son to seem to be an American citizen since that classification bestows rights and privileges?Calling people who disagree with you crazy is the easiest way to win an argument but not the soundest.Many people who were called crazy in the past were eventually proven right and the minority CAN be correct.

Because at the time the birth announcements came from hospitals that the newspapers collected each day. If you bothered to look into something other than the nut case birther compspiracies you might have know that. His mother was American so he already had the right to American citizenship. The question was "natural born citizen". Which by the way natural born citizen has never been defined by Congress.

There was no reason for her to post birth of Obama in order to obtain priveledges like you say since he was automatically a citizen. There are four ways to become a citizen. Birth in the Unites States or its territories (what some consider, but not defined as "natural born"). Birth to a U.S. citizen parent(s). Which is called "acquisition" of citizenship. Naturalization obtained after application and exam or naturalization of one's parents called "derivation of citizenship.

If he was born outside of the U.S. and his mother was only 18 yrs. old at the time she could not confer citizenship upon him.A naturalized citizen cannot become president.Even if Hawaii has now gone paperless they must have a microfiche record of his original long form certificate.Why not make that public and put this thing to rest?Why are all of Obama's other documents including his dissertations covered up?Do you really have to be loony or racist to want to know who your president really is?

Hawaii went paperless in 2001. The only certificate they issue is the short form. All the information from the long form was entered into computers. This is a legal official birth certificate. The state of Hawaii has verified it. Just because you birthers can't except that doesn't mean anything. He was born in Hawaii not outside the US.
