Basically, they has started deveolping since 2007 till now = over 5 years. So this year, this time is indeed the first time that they announce some info plan of releasing date is going to be.

where does it say OBT will begin in april? nowhere. The fact that they are inviting press and media in the beginning of february we can surely expect the NDA to be lifted... That said, the the CBT session wont be any longer than the previous and OBT will begin shortly after (i'd guess 2 weeks after the CBT for preps). Looking at all the previous Anet releases i'd say GW2 will be a spring release coming late april. As late as july would be a utterly moronic decision by Anet bcs of several reasons

@jel0XD Ok here's the deal :9 You first pay ONCE to get the CD and after that its free to play like vindictus, although you have to pay for expansions if and when they come. Theres also an ingame cash shop but it doesnt contain anything that change the gameplay only how your character looks.

@Opheilas no. what they do in the guild ward games is instead of monthly payments, its a one payment deal. In other words, pay the full price of the game now, and you can play it forever. (take that WOW)

@AnotherCandy I'm sure the devs are going to make it possible to lower the graphical settings. They want it to run on as many systems as possible, it's bad if people are discouraged from buying the game just because they have a bad PC.

@AnotherCandy arena net has stated that the game will not require a supreme amount of hardware but ive see this game in action and if you comp is like mine i doubt youll be able to run it smoothly i suggest trying star wars the old republic (i believe they still are having that one month free trail going on correct me if im wrong) gk i believe that one is less graphically intense so if you can run that just fine then you might just get away with guild wars 2. gl btw, I gotta get me a new comp
