  • the first guy had the best jump. ANy idea how much that was?

  • where was the advice?

  • @AdminsAnonymous listen from 0:12 to 0:18 pretty much sums it up on what is the easiest way to increase your vertical leap. Strength to body weight ratio is the key.

  • Chris long can jump good for a big white dude

  • i always thought it was strength and fast muscle fiber twitch.....michael jordan claims to have never done plyometrics or any jump training, just always jumped a lot, and he like a 43 inch vertical....

  • @borradit0 Jumping and sprinting are non specific plyometric exercises. Jordan was genetically gifted in his body structure - high center of gravity. the constant Jumping and short sprinting while playing basketball made it easier for MJ to make great gains. Training should not be complicated. Increase your strength to body weight ratio and play your sport on a constat basis - you will jump higher and run faster. Complx training is for elite athletes that have plateaued in progress, not beginrs

  • @jofu77 what about rest? and proteins and carbs? yeah jordan was gifted and vince carter just played ball all the time so that's why he made 37 inches seem like an easy hop in the slam dunk contest, but how do some people out there get their vert to that max of 50+ inches???? like the french dude basketball player he's skinny like a twig!??

  • @jofu77 Steroids are for athletes who plateaued, complex training is for liars.

  • @jofu77 you only need high eccentric and isometric strength and good tendons.

Then you will jump and run faster than every opponent

  • @borradit0 46 inch vertical

  • i think the only real accurate way to measure a vertical is from top of head starting point to top of head at pinnacle of jump. if you do it by arm reach, all those joints and muscles get stretched out during the jump. and many people pretend to have short arms . its not that accurate. .

  • how is this advice...

  • boingvert --- that program seems to be the best.. any one heard of it?

  • a question here: does cycling help you increase your vertical? ive never done any vj exercises and my running vert is about 32'', ive been cycling A LOT. you actually push all the time using your legs, just like with squatting and jumping, so i was wondering about that... does anyone know?

  • @YaCantJudgeMe Cycling, especially sprint cycling will increase leg strength, therefore your vertical. Long term cycling will not make you jump higher, you will plateau. Cross training will make the most of your potential. The fact you have a 32 inch running vertical from just cycling means you have great genes to be a jumper.

  • Its about human spring - Google the human spring approach to see how to examine, self help, release, train, strengthen and supercharge the human spring

  • I'm 183 cm tall and weight 140 pounds. I can grab the rim in basketball but cannot dunk. I do 40 squats every day.

  • @balleruptown i can dunk im 5.11 do 150 a day with weights that how i could dunk

  • @BrizzyisTheKing FUCK YOU!!!

  • I can't jump i'm white and im a defensive end, I'm just furthering the stereotype.

  • Increase your vertical 10 inches in 10 weeks!

    verticalleap[.]tk

  • i did 63cm at school and im 14 years old, im 165cm. is it ok enough?

  • the work of 270 lbs up 37 inches equals an average 3.44 horsepower when in midair.

  • squats give you power but lots of bulk in the lower body will slow you down. it helps to have lots of momentum before leaving the ground. long arms and long legs help with this.

  • can anyone tell me how its possible for someone to jump 40 inches ( running ) but not b very strong ? i understand they earned it from plyo exercises but it doesnt make since for someone to jump that high if there leg strength is relatably low compared to body wieght . i mean your jumping ability is limited by how strong u are rite? can someone plzm explain this to me ?? thank u

  • @thefuture067 Guys that can jump high with low strength are genetically gifted (and rare). Their muscles are super reactive and have the right amount of fast twitch fibers. For hard gainers, the easiest way to gain VJ is to get strong and maintain low body fat. a 150 pounder who can squat 300 pound will have a decent to very good VJ. If the strength is high and the LEap is still low, then plyometrics will help to develop the reactive abilities of the muscle. Hope this helped

  • @jofu77 thats true. i'm 150, i squat 370, and can almost dunk. i'm white and 5'7.

  • @jofu77

i'm pretty weak, i only weigh 110 pounds and 5'6. but i have a 33 inch vertical and i don't train or anything nor do i play sports regularly(last time i played anything was years ago). I've just loved jumping all my life. so if i get stronger, i can jump higher?

  • @Moiez101 If what you say is true, you have great genes for jumping and given your 33 inch vertical, you probably are a fast runner as well. Any training you do will increase your athletic abilities to an elite level, a lot easier than those without your type of genetics. You should play sports more often as with your potential you could be successful. Lots of luck.

  • @jofu77

thanks man, appreciate it. but i'm sooo lazy LMAOO. i hope you are not as lazy as me.

  • @Moiez101 join the track team for high or long jump

  • @housetenrckets '

I should have when i was younger but i did in gr 10 and 11. it was freakin hard! technique is key.

  • @jofu77 I have a question, I'm 6,5 and my weight is 200 pounds. I want to be explosive and jump high and right now I have a low vertical, i can barely dunk. I know Plyometrics help with weight training so here are my questions: is squating the most effective way to gain inches or are there other great ways? I want a 38-40 inch vert, how long would it take for me to do that if i was consistent? if I can squat double my weight, does that equal very high vert? please give me your awesome advice

  • @thefuture067 what you will probabaly also notice about these guys is that they have really good realtive body strength although they might not be very strong per se.....what you 'll see with people who can do a lot of chinups but arent very strong is that they will usually have very fast 4oyd dash times and good vert's....and yea these people arent come across very often

  • @thefuture067 Yes easily i could barely squat 300 and i still had a 48 vertical running. I probably got 7 to 10 inches from running track but i was in the 30s without training at all not even plyo. i guess it is a god given gift because everyones muscles are different some people are born explosive because there muscles were made to fire of quickly.

  • damn, 270 and 38? that is nice...

  • i hope u all no , dat ppl dnt jus get 40 inch verticals. they do d wrk to earn it. whether its intentional or not. you arent born with the capability of jumping that high . not at birth . genetics plays a role but ill say this, i think anyone can achieve it wit the rite training

  • I'm zero and I jumped to the friendly skies of heaven.

  • That's impressive for the big boys to get up in the mid to high 30's

  • eg just by practice plus natural structure plus testosterone(to create high mass), low weight etc etc just by maturing and waiting their pub

  • 186

  • i cant jump very high my big penis holds me down

  • im 15 and have a 23 ince vert

  • I'm 16 my V-Leap is 3.6 feet. I play a sport that doesn't involve high jumping.

  • @r2native hahaha you think your vert it 42? hahaha thats lebron james status

  • @criticalballer1 So if you can jump high you have to be a basketball star? To be honest i hate basketball.

  • @r2native not saying that but 42 is a big number seroius athelete

  • @criticalballer1 Yeah. It's from training for hockey. I'm not a baaawwwller.

  • well im 16 and 5'9 and my vert is 35.5

  • I'm 14 and 5ft 3in and my vertical leap is 2ft

  • some of them cheat their reach to increase to their vert but no doubt they can all jump.

  • i am a fetus and i can do a 40yrd dash in .5 seconds, benchpress rosie o donnell 10x and once i did a vertical jump so hard my skeleton leaped out of skin.luckily there were emts nearby and they managed to put my bones back into my deflated body and while im healing, im sitting here one upping people on youtube. but my buddy who is a single celled ameoba has a 40yd vertical dash of .02 seconds so im doing lots of 5000lb squats trying to catch up to him.

  • oh man I think I'm going to cry from laughter

  • @radxxx LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @radxxx lol really funny 40 yard vertical dash :D:D

  • the more you squat?!?!?! oh my... how about just jumping? lol plyometrics? its called specificity.

  • You can just buy 150 $ barbell at Academy, the ones with bigger plate hold, it weights 300 pounds buy the 7ft and look somewhere here or wall mart of a squat rack. I can't look over for a squat cage. I did found on my area who sell a wood work of it on craiglist. google craiglist.

Yes that's the only equipment you need , in fact nothing more.

If you increase the weight you maximally squat in 1 repetition, than that means you're getting bigger thus higher vertical.

  • i have a question:

i do not have an easy access to a weightroom so

will bodyweight strength training for vertical leap work the same way weights training does?

    why or why not?

  • increase vertical is about how much force you can do in 1 go do lots of reps of bodyweight exercise

will help your jumping endurance but not your max vertical jump

  • No bu you can still get result from body weight strength training.

Weight training is the only way to get that high. Even Nate Robinson gets to the squat rack BEFORE he able to reach his main vert.

  • Hi, check out, SuperJump2010, video,

I am jumping 4 and a half feet in the air,

height 5-9, it is very funny

  • It was on the Brock lesnar wwe DVD the ufc countdown when he fought Randy couture n it was on this espn show when they were talking about Brock at the Vikings tryouts how he amazed everybody with pretty much everything he was doing

  • "folks thats an athlete" lol.. just because someone can jump 40 inches on a vertical doesnt make them an "athlete".. you need MUCH MUCH more than just a jump to be an athlete.

  • Um... you have to be pretty damn athletic to jump 40".

  • @JacktheDaniels no you dont

  • @atl2maryland

Show me someone with a 40" vertical who isn't athletic, and I'll concede your point.

  • @JacktheDaniels lls.. being an athlete is alot more than jumping. That's all Im saying. Jumping is like 10% of what an athlete has to do... maybe less. Somebody can jump higher than you but you could still be more athletic than them.

  • @atl2maryland

    True enough.

Then again, high-end athletes get very specialized. Take a guy like Haile Gebreselassie, the WR holder in the marathon. I bet his vert sucks. He's still an amazing athlete. A 40" vert isn't anywhere near as impressive as something like marathon WR, but you still have to have strength and explosiveness, and you have to have put in some hard work. You'd at least be a somewhat decent athlete to have 40", IMO.

  • @JacktheDaniels Thats how I feel. I could always jump at least 36in ever since high school but Im just now understanding what truly makes you an athlete. Better late then never but if I would have had someone teach me what I know now, back then, it would've made a big difference. It's so many aspects that makes you a complete athlete IMO

  • @MakNak777

lol how do you figure someone with a 40 inch vert isn't athletic?

  • @MakNak777 he didn't say that they were athletes just because of that, he was pointing out that they were and noting their incredible vertical jump at the same time

  • yeah but this dude is also 270 pounds.... this isn't nate robinson we are talkin about

  • @hellblade23

Nate Robinson isn't big when compared to 270's but if you look at natural body building standard, 180 5'9" is great. Steve Nash is 170 and never so him dunk. Where?

  • @spiritring yeah but im just saying that jumping that high when your that weight is very difficult. Youve gotta be in prime fitness, just like nate is, to have a 40 inch vert.

  • @hellblade23 thats my point.. no you dont hav eto be in "prime fitness". I can jump 40 inches with a quick stretch and warm up and Im nowhere near being in prime fitness. Some people can jump high.. others cant. It has nothing to do with being physically fit. One person may be able to jump 30 inches when hes as physically fit as hes ever been adn somebody else could come along and jump 40 after sitting on his ass for weeks.

  • @atl2maryland oh my okay what im saying is you cant be a overweight slob and jump 40 inches. obviously some people have genetic predispositions, certain people are just going to be naturally better jumpers

  • Comment removed

  • @hellblade23 It's due to relative strength. As a mater of fact, you could put Nate at 210 pounds by mass and still see he get gains TREMENDOUS gain not only in strength but vertical. Give it 8% fat - water

  • @MakNak777 please let these fools know that being an athlete is alot more than just jumping.. shit I can jump 40 inches after sitting on my ass for weeks and eating nothing but unhealthy food.

  • True he had no football exp so they cut him that n rumor is they didn't like his history with pro wrestling

  • That's nothing at 6'3" 300lbs at the time when Brock lesnar was trying out for the Vikings he leaped 42" that's sick!

  • Too bad he got cut two weeks into the preseason

  • That's insane!

Where did you hear about that?

  • @XslamthehamX Idk where the fuck you got that info but his vertical was 35"

  • First guy (@ 0:05), What a explosive power ;D

    Any1 got tips/exercices for me?

  • Why they jump at the mat?

Is it better for the knees?

  • "Folks, thats an athlete" ahhhh I love wen he says that...almost brings a tear to my eye.

  • My force strength is accurate. This is almost basically complete estimate like saying the moon is 255, 000 miles away. Then we find it BOOM It's exactly there! Here we have the vertical leap. If you squat twice your own body weight, you'll do running about 45 inches!

  • than i should jump 100 inches cause i can lift a car or it's engine by myself

  • The primary means of increasing vertical is to increase the power you're able to use when you jump. If you're not shitting, it's true there is no limit to vertical jump! It's just power relative to your own body weight. Look at the space shuttle, how much pounds of power it thrust!

  • i have only 30 inches of vert but i can really lift cars like Fiat uno, yugo and so on(those who are under 1 ton) but it's i belive genetically because my dad can too i will try to capture lifting car than put it on the tube so you can see it...ok?

  • You were putting shit.Random!

  • i will put video on tube than you will say can a kid lift some cars

  • I could squat 320 pounds at 160 6'0"

  • good for you

  • bullshit

  • when i was 13 i was 5foo9 and 160 pounds and not fat you light motherfucker

  • That don't make sense?

  • lol nice 270 pounds with a 35-40inch vert. lol niiceee .. im 200 pounds with a 33 inch vert and im 14 ... my body type isnt flabby as u guys would think.. i have the chubby looking form but i run pretty dam fast as well

  • woww

  • splendid physical ability!!

  • great!!

  • wow they actually talked about squatting instead of telling you to do calves...props to this video

  • For sure. Every time I post anything about quads on other videos I get attacked for spreading misinformation.

  • aw i sence a lot of hate in your blood you must of been raised ignorantly ,, i pitty people like you because you are below me . you will never be happy with you self because you hate others

  • you might have down syndrome

  • Nope vertical leap is nothing! I notice people who could dunk from the free throw line could touch the top of the back board. Here we have Kadour Ziani dunk from free throw line 5'11"!

  • noone can touch the top of the backboard

  • Yes there are. It's the 7 footers with above 40 inch running vertical. Troy Mccray even grab a 12' while he fails to dunk on it because he's 5'10".

  • there is no rrecorded proof of anybody touching the top oof the backboard, easy as that, there is a book written about how no human, yet ,could touch the top of the backboard. they asked dwight howard he said he could but made excuses to why he couldnt and dwight would be the only one to do it but he cant(his reach is higher than a seven footer.

  • You know why? Because he's 6'8" in reality. They have overrated heights and no, he has no greater standing reach than 7. Look up on youtube you noob! There's a record of 13 ft touch!

  • his standing reach is 9ft3 the average 5ft9person has a standing reach of 7ft5. There might be a 13 foot touch but it wasnt the top of the backboard because you cant get that high when something is in your way. its psychological

  • No you're extremely shit at vertical. 13 ft is exactly the top of the backboard while the commentator says, " 12.6 OMG! he put a sticker on the TOP of the backboard! Michael has lost his damn mind!" ROFL. That is not the world record btw. The one who did this isn't even in NBA but he plays college BB.

  • i'm 1.86 m or 6.1 feet and have vertical leap about 0.65 m or 25.6 inch and i can dunk on 9.8 feet rim or 2.98 m rim. but I really can't dunk on 10 feet rim becouse it is 6 cm or 0.19 feet higher. I have 74 kg or 162.8 lbs. I did only some squats for past 2 weeks... do you think that pylometric can help? or anything other?!?!

    thank you!

becouse of different countries i wrote in different measurements..

  • hey i think the guy at 11 seconds to 12 seconds is my neighbor he did well on the vertical inch and got second in the 40 for the first combine he went to,he also got invite to another and then just got an agent hes doing big things but tell me if this was the first combine held or not thad be great cuz that might be him

  • i didn't learn shit

  • im 8 and i ran a 40 yard dash time in 2.2 seconds on 2 broken ankles

  • Im 3 years old and ran 1.2 in the 40 and have a 100 inch vertical leap. Scott Boras is my agent.

  • No way Im 2 and way faster. I ran too fast for a correct measurement though. My vert is an estimated 6.0758 km. Im signing with the Lakers this summer.

  • @crazyasianskills:

    ROFL!

  • I'm 134 years old, I ran 40 yards in less than a second. I don't know what my vertical leap is, I still haven't landed from my test. I'm typing this as I am rising in the air. I'm estimating that i'll atleast reach the moon. I'm hoping the sun doesn't burn me though.

  • this is by far my favorite comment of all time

  • lol thanks, i was just continuing what people were posting on the second page of comments

  • lmao nice one you crazy man lol

  • thanks, i landed yesterday. They told me to wait about 11 months untill the measurements will come in. Lets hope i hit the 100, 000 mile mark *fingers crossed*

  • @K24Productions damn your old ahah

  • @evilaardvark666 me too

  • @evilaardvark666:

    LMAO!

  • i work for the lions and we are willing to drop stafford for you if you agree to a $40 million deal

  • hahahahahaha
